Re: What would you have done 2025 Edition
For me I would’ve just kept 109 and grabbed Jack Sawyer instead of the picks that went to Hyppolyte and Frazier. I think those two are good ST contributors as a floor, I just think Sawyer’s floor is higher as rotational piece at a key position. I get the argument for what we did, just feel like we ...

Re: Running Backs - where do we go
Well to be fair, he was part of a team that drafted a RB at #12.
I think it was Jeanty or bust and that other than him, they are fine sticking with what they have.
I dunno, I tend to believe Poles when he said that the RB part of the draft just sort of didn't fall our way. At several ...

Listen to the interviews of Burden.
I heard part of one.
He...did not present himself well.
I wonder how much the Bears looked into him before feeling like they couldn't pass on something they weren't expecting.
Interesting. I didn’t have issues that others appeared to. Would’ve been ...

Re: 2025 NFL Draft Thread
Exactly. I'm not saying it's a bad pick, but thinking it's the final piece and cashing in the chips when today, probably Sunday, and possibly September Amigaje is our starting LT is worrying. Thuney and Jarrett are awesome but we don't have depth in the trenches. I think that's another worry ...

For the people who are pooh-poohing the idea of trading up for Jeanty. You are probably the SAME PEOPLE who have been complaining that the Bears don't have a modern offense, don't score enough points, or "we would have won that game if we could do anything in the red zone."
Either you want the ...

Before I drink the KoolAid Saturday night:
No Warren, Jeanty, or Stewart at 10.
Not getting an OT and DL by round 3.
Please please please let 3rd round pick finally be someone I’m not googling to figure out who the F they are. I get Nerdy this time of year but 3 straight years of WTF can’t extend to ...

One of the talking heads (don't recall which one) made what I thought was a good point for the 10th pick:
Do you draft the second or third best offensive lineman or a guy, to quote Homes, who like Gibbs, is a "multi-phase, elite, explosive, positionless weapon"
There are two guys that seem to ...

I read that Mecole Hardman (Poles was with KC when they drafted him in the 2nd round) also visited the Bears. I'd prefer him over Moore.

That was a little more coin then expected but I'm not upset.
WR is a #3 and ideally KR. I think we can draft that pretty easily.

I think it’s a great RB class. But I also think we need to build through trenches and top 10 pick isn’t luxury like was for Detroit with Gibbs. Lot of studs there in 2nd.

Probably the best HC that gets talked about the least. Trade value chart for draft was pioneering. I’m sure Fox will make the pregame crew even more people to the detriment of quality but enjoyed him and wish him the best.

Re: Build the Lines
I think both have good chance to be. Falcons over cap which happens with $40m deadcap on QB. KC not enough cap space. You can kick issue down the road and always free up ala New Orleans.dplank wrote: Thu Jan 23, 2025 10:04 am
It really depends on Dahlman and Trey Smith, and whether or not they become available, IMO.

I'm out at that number. He is starter material technically (he's definitely in the top 30 LT's in the NFL) but he's on the low end of that list and I want to strive for something more with our OL. I'd rather spend 20M on a top tier guy than 10M on two lesser players. And then draft into the ...

Re: Build the Lines
I might have said it already so apologies, but Smith, Dallman, and Bechton are 26 and under. Even without releasing Bates and Everett (which I believe is minimal deadcap) that should leave us a decent chunk of cap space if we signed all 3.

Think we all differ on OL except for it being our biggest weakness. I’ll just say I agree with dplank if there’s a stud available get him and not spread it around to get average a cornucopia of average players and dart throws. I'm in the DL at 10 unless you trade back camp right now.
The only OL guy that intrigues me at 10 is the guy who has injury questions - Josh Simmons (No, I'm not Poles in disguise...lol) If his medicals look good/better (knee surgery) I think he is in the 8-16 range. Personally, I'm not a fan ...
