Re: 30 Visits
Jared Verse now confirmed for a visit. So basically, the Bears have had all 4 of the top DEs (Turner, Verse, Latu, Robinson,) all 3 of the top WRs (MHJ, Nabers, Odunze,) 3 top Centers (JPJ, Barton, Frazier) and a few others in for the 30 visits. Again, not a single DT prospect. Seems odd. Smokescreen?

Joel Klatt's explanation on why he thinks Caleb is elite.
Good stuff and definitely worth getting pumped about as a Bears fan.

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
For all the Odunze fans out there... You'll like this one. A couple nuggets: - He was inspired to play football as a boy by watchin Devin Hester Highlight videos. - He models his game after three pro receivers, one of whom is Keenan Allen Very intelligent young man. He and Caleb are definitely repre...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
The whole point of the commentator's comment was that good players find ways to put chips on their shoulder by creating a sense of being disrespected. They invent or imagine adversity to motivate themselves...that's literally what the speaker is saying Caleb hasn't done and that is literally what Ca...

Re: 30 Visits
Added JC Latham to the list. Man, I wonder why no Byron Murphy II....I'm really feeling like a trade back to around #12 and then a selection of the best 3T in the class would be the best call here. I wonder if they're genuinely not interested or if possibly they are trying to conceal their interest ...

List up to 19 x 30 visits with 3 notable prospects likely treated as "local visits." List now includes: - WR Malik Nabers, LSU (Rapoport) - DE Laiatu Latu, UCLA (Fishbain) - WR Marvin Harrison Jr, Ohio State (Fishbain) - WR Xavier Worthy, Texas (Fishbain) - S Kam Kichens, Miami (Leming) - ...

Nice oneRusty Trombagent wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 2:29 pm I think the current Chicago Bears are going to SHATTER all existing offensive high water marks for the Chicago Bears.
That might not be enough to get them out of the bottom 10, though.
I voted top 10 because, you know, it's the offseason. Everything's rainbows and unicorns.

This notion that CW is making only ONE Thirty visit-- he doesn't even want to go visit other teams...I frickin love that. He's a one city guy.

Re: 30 Visits
Brock Bowers 30 visit is noteworthy... As we know, the Bears just re-signed TE 1 to a 4 year extension at roughly $12M per year and we also added our TE2 in Gerald Everett with a 2 year, $12M deal with $6M guaranteed-- meaning we can end it with no cap hit after 1 year. It is not a reach to say that...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I'm pretty checked out until the draft, so apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but this comment from Flus recently was pretty interesting: “I like the numbers in terms of the talented players that can get to nine,” Poles said, via the team’s website. “We’re going to do some cool things whe...

30 Visits
Not sure if there is another place where we are tracking the 30 visits this year but directionally, it's not a bad way of predicting picks or even FA signings. According to one source, last year: Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson, Tyler Scott and Gervon Dexter all made 30 visits to Poles and company...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I'm pretty convinced that 4 qbs go in the top 8. Minn or someone else will trade up for that. I'm also pretty convinced that 2 WRs will go in the top 8. This means one of Alt, Turner and a WR will remain when the Bears pick at 9. It's even possible that 2 of those 3 are still on the board if another...

Re: Who will wear #13 for the Bears in 2024?
Caleb is wearing #15 since he’s the next Patty Mahomes. Or since Patty went from #5 in college to #15 in the pros, we’re hitting the Uno Reverse. Caleb wore #13 in college, so we’re gona unretire #3 for him in the pros. Petty sure that aint happening unless they're going to unretire Bronco Nagurski...

Mason McCormick can play all IOL positions and is very athletic. I think he'd be a great day 3 pickup.

Re: Who will wear #13 for the Bears in 2024?
I'm voting for Keenan Allen, because he's the most experienced and highly paid player who would want that number. He can outbid CW. Tyler Scott will be happy to make some extra dough by taking another number. Hell, he should probably want to take another number to make everyone forget his 2023. It'...

Re: Justin Fields traded to Pittsburgh for conditional pick
Firstly, I'm feeling very let down and disappointed. Given that I am on record in support of trading Fields, I'm trying to understand why. Firstly, it's the very low return. If the announcement had been a 2nd rounder or even a swap from the 3rd to the 2nd plus Jf1, I would definitely feel differentl...

You could also say it's doing right by a rookie QB and setting him up for success-- something many complained we never did for Justin.

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
Whats our cap damage from this trade? Not that it matters to me but having trouble getting the correct answer. Bears have 57 million -23 million for Allen -14 million for cap holds = 20 million available Do you have a source for this? If Allan is going to be a full $23M cap hit this year (which I d...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
I have mixed feelings here. On one hand, I'm not a huge fan of adding a 32 year old receiver with some injury history, paying him $23M (or whatever the amount ends up being) and then extending him until he's 35. But, I love the idea of setting up a rookie QB with an elite receiving corps, bringing i...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
What might make more sense, if they continue to clean up their cap mess, is the Chargers. Right now, Max Duggan is the only backup to Herbert. Justin could sit behind Herbert and get the benefit of being in Harbaugh's system with Greg Roman as his OC, while working on his timing issues with their Q...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
USC had a disappointing season last year, but you didn't hear anything about him not being a team guy or a "me first" guy then. I'd be more concerned about contract stuff than anything else, personally. Maybe, I wouldn't be looking forward to him asking for a percentage of ownership of th...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
I'll tell you what I think: I think that if Williams turns into the high-quality, championship-winning, franchise QB that is his ceiling and he continues with his kinda radical, pro‐player, anti-establishment (somewhat uppity? ) approach to the business side of this league, he will end up far more r...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
This Fields has been an absolute pro's pro and is beloved in the locker room because of that. And the complaint out there on CW, whether you choose to believe it or not, is 100% around this aspect of him. The complaint from who? You? And The Marshall Plan? Seriously, where are all these locker room...
