Re: Bears Most Attractive Job?

Chicago will always be a top tier job. Sometimes a little better than others depending on various circumstances, but the allure of coaching / GMing the iconic Bears franchise is a huge draw. Add in JF1 and it’s super hot, best available job for sure. Only a few franchises have the draw of Chicago an...

Re: Nagy Hot Seat

Bears fans are all just great judges of character. I think I remember the majority, probably an overwhelming majority, really liked the Nagy hiring. How's that working for us and the team? I loved the Nagy hire and started chiseling his HOF bust after 2018, thought we finally had our guy. Whoops. M...

Re: Has anyone changed their mind on Daboll?

I don't care who is HC so long as they put us on a path to winning a Super Bowl. Same with Bezoz potential ownership, just win baby. Ditka is a massive tool and of course the face of our bumbling franchise since we've only won 1 super bowl. If winning another super bowl brings us another tool, so be...

Re: Is Vildor The Worst CB We've Ever Had?

Thx but I don't really have any expertise. It appears to me that we take mobile guys over mass/strength guys, and I just prefer an OL full of massive monsters that can't be moved. And I prefer players with a mean streak over nice, soft spoken ones. I care less about an OL's ability to get to the 2nd...

Re: Is Vildor The Worst CB We've Ever Had?

Daniels is still only 24. He's put on like 35lbs since being drafted and looks like he's really starting to develop into something. I'd hate to let him walk, but yes, guards are pretty easy to replace. If we could just wave a magic wand, I'd transfer Whitehair's money to Daniels and let Whitehair w...

Re: Is Vildor The Worst CB We've Ever Had?

I don't mind Vildor getting his shot over Trufant, it let us see what we have in Vildor - which isn't much lol. CB is a massive need for us heading into the off season, Vildor's play made that abundantly clear. Clarity is good. I want some clarity at OT, hoping we see Jenkins soon. And, I'm about do...

So funny I had a similar thought. But I am also aware that by halftime I'll probably say, "What the hell was I thinking"?

Cardinals - 35
Bears - 13

28-0 at halftime

I could get excited about McDaniels, hopefully he learned from his prior fail in Denver. Leftwich feels just like Nagy to me, I don't buy for one second that it's all his offense and Arians is hands off.

Re: Matt Nagy deserves a little credit

I started my Bears fandom when Ditka was our HC. It's hard to put Nagy as the worst on the list when we have such a shitty list lol: Ditka, Wanny, Jauron, Lovie, Trestman, Fox, and Nagy are the only coaches I've known. Ditka and Lovie were the only good ones. No one reached the lows of Trestman, but...

I see value in having a person other than the GM hiring and firing the HC. As is, the GM can scapegoat coaching.

A good judge of player acquisition talent. A good culture/tempo setter and ultimate responsibility guy. The one guy who makes damn sure...

Re: Matt Nagy deserves a little credit

Yea, that. Nagy sucks. I have a theory about 2018 too. I think John Fox created a typical John Fox team, remember he was brought in to toughen up our team that went soft and quit on Trestman. Our OL played it's best football under Fox, gashing teams with the run game / Jordan Howard. Our D got real ...

Interview several top and respected football minds from other organizations? Determine their fit with the organization? Didn't I just describe the GM interview process? Wh...

Re: Week 12 // Thanksgiving // Bears (3-7) @ Lions (0-9-1)

So….we should still fire Nagy lol. Offense was basically the same shit show as it’s been under Fields. Dalton/Fields stat lines against Det are very close, nearly identical QBRs. 24 and 16 points, both wins. Dalton’s would have been lower if not for a very lucky dropped INT in the end zone, he shoul...

Since I'm sharing stories...I worked with Garrett in Dallas for a while also. Super nice person, very professional and reserved kind of person - but his staff....whoa boy. Anyone anointing Fields as a 'decent QB' at this stage is rather getting ahead of themselves. The guy has done nothing at this stage other than flash promise. We all hope he's going to be more than decent, but he's got a long way to go yet. The biggest issue is that Nagy is going to be fired and ye...

I don't necessarily agree that it's a good strategy for ownership to issue a public statement when something non-factual gets reported. Because then when you don't respond to erroneous reports, it can appear as a tacit endorsement. So then you've boxed yourself into issuing responses and the tail i...

I don’t think there’s a single person on this board that thinks Nagy should be our HC next season. How often does every member here feel the exact same way about anything? If a national poll was done amongst all Bears fans, I bet 95% would say we need to move on from Nagy. Every Bears writer seems t...

Re: Has anyone changed their mind on Daboll?

To answer the original question, I'm a little cooler on Daboll than a month ago. I thought he could be a steal and help the Bears O join the 21st century. Buffalo is loaded with talent on O yet they're struggling. Don't know if defenses have caught up to them or not, but not maintaining a strong ru...

I don't care if y'all think I'm a meatball or not, when I think of a coach who has had success in the NFL and who is also a personality capable of leading men generally (in the mold of a Mike Vrabel) my mind goes to Harbaugh. It just does. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting Harbaugh....

I can see both sides here, it's cringe and it's also sane depending on circumstances. If George had reached a point where he thought Nagy was done, and also maybe Pace, and he knew they would be mortgaging Fields development in favor of trying to save their jobs - then this makes sense to me. George...

The Seahawks have had great success under Carroll and John Schneider. Can't stand Carroll, his cheating at USC but he makes guys earn a starting spot, he allows them to compete. I'd say roughly half of Bears fandom wanted Nagy fired last year - that half was correct lol. This has absolutely devolved into a massive shit show, making the Bears a laughing stock yet again. This organization just doesn't operate with any urgency at all. They see failure and can't wrap their head...
