Re: 2024 Offseason Program
Man do i ever hope you are right. It still burns me that Poles commited the unforgivable sin of paying a god damn running back. Swift better be top 3 this year. We also need health. The offense quickly becomes a house of cards with an injury If he's a top 3 RB, you guys in the Keeper League are in ...

Re: 2024 Offseason Program
Love it Hoog, I’m super excited also! Don’t sleep on Swift either, I think he was a sneaky big addition that will have a big impact on our offense. We are stacked, Poles has done an outstanding job. All we really need is for CW to be as good as advertised and we are going to be a very dangerous tea...

Re: 2024 Offseason Program
I am really pumped for this season, probably higher on this team then the second year of Nagy, lol. Hope the results are better. I have a good feeling that Dexter and Pickens are going to shine this year, especially if we get a DE opposite of Sweat. Also love having Moore, Allen, Kmet for CW to tru...

If Poles thinks he’s the goods it works for me. I prefer one of the DEs but so long as it’s DL I’m happy.

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
Fautanu can play tackle in the pros. He's got the physique plus decent arms (34.5"). But it would be shocking for Poles to pass on 3 blue-chippers at positions of need and ignore DL for a 3rd rounder in a draft not noted for depth. The Bears have the opportunity to really make noise with 2 top...

Re: Jer’zhan Newton
I'm really feel strongly that Poles should be using our other 1st on the DL, whether that be a DT or DE. So I don't want to trade down too far here, if at all. We ranked 17th in DVOA on defense, and we've gone backwards personnel wise this offseason. We swapped EJax for Byard, which may be an upgrad...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
Nothing we haven't been over before. If the top ten go as expected with Minny trading up for a QB IMHO the most likely of the top position players to still be on the board is Odunze. If that's the case I don't think it would be wise to pass on him at all. I still think it might go CW, Odunze, DE/Ed...

Co-signed How do you like this for a Receiver corps? Re: Different trade scenario
The problem with this is that if you go edge in round 1, the draft is so deep at WR you're going to find a damn good one in the third, maybe even in a trade down from the third. I still think that Brendan Rice makes a whole lot of sense as Caleb is already familiar with him. But there's also somebo...

Re: Different trade scenario
IMO playing to the strengths of the draft means getting good players later in the draft than usually would be there. So I favor taking a WR at 75, or many of the various trade down scenarios that have been kicked around and taking one in the 2nd.
Watch Poles take a CB and all our heads explode.

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized
If a WR goes down, we still have a viable #1 WR on the team, along with Kmet, Everett and Swift. In no way is that not acceptable support for CW, that's still plenty. Even with losing our WR1 it's a better unit than Fields EVER had. However, if a Sweat goes down, our defense plummets to a bottom 10...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized
Barring a team hopping up to 7, I think that's probably the case. The biggest difference in the 3rd WR vs the 3rd DE is that the 3rd DE is going to see more opportunities than the 3rd WR. If you have them graded equally then that's definitely something that will (should) come into play. Respectfull...

Imo, Justin Fields’ lack of development as a passer made trading back for yet another “haul” unlikely. A struggling 4th year QB with a 5th year option decision looming likely made acquiring a quality oc problematic and set the stage for the kind of QB uncertainty now facing Minnesota and Las Vegas....

That’s because highly touted QBs still rarely become elite pros. The odds are what they are, and the forecasting is near impossible. Always remember that most GMs had Trubisky a better prospect than Mahomes. Not all, but most. That’s how futile forecasting college QBs is, no matter how much tape yo...
