Re: 2024 NFL Rule Changes
Did they do anything rules wise about the tush push, or generally having players push an offensive player forward scrum style?

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
I don’t scout but Verse age worries me. Not because of career longevity, it’s stupid IMO to think much past the rookie contract window on these guys anyways. I’m worried that he was playing against guys he’s a couple years older than, and how that gives him a big advantage that he won’t have at the ...

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
I firmly disagree with that argument. It's technically true the Bears have had a lot of picks over the last 2-3 drafts - but a huge proportion of them were 6th and 7th round picks, which really don't matter. By that point in the draft, you're on lottery tickets. And what the Bears netted with all t...

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
Yea my draft right now is: CW, Dallas Turner, Ricky Pearsall, then the biggest, nastiest IOL available (raw is fine, I want size/power and a guy to develop).

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
In one of those Poles interviews he talks about only having 4 picks and why he thinks it’s fine given how many they’ve had recently, and the current state of the team. Next year we have an extra 2nd and 6th (maybe 4th). We have a need for a high caliber player on our DL, I’m very comfortable if we j...

Really what got me was Poles. I trust him and so I trust what he’s doing. If he passed his “teammate/leadership” test then I’m in

Very weird read you have on Hurricanes post. Not once does he imply, let alone outright declare, that Scott is a bust.

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
Yeah, 'cause Tyler Scott is a total bust. I bet Poles cuts him, for sure. :bored: I don't think Scott's a wash, but he needs to do *something* to merit a roster spot. JMO but I think his roster spot is all but assured, they just spent a pick on him last year and he got some P/T late in the year. He...

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
If you trade down, it’s likely there’s a run on those DEs and you don’t get any of them. I get that we want perfection here, and a trade down while still “getting our guy”, but I don’t think I’d dick around with it. Take the one you like best and call it a win.

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
If any of the 3 WRs are there he should go that route IMO. If not then he should target DE, and I wouldn’t get cute I’d just take the top one on his board at 9. That player will rotate heavily as a rookie and allow Walker to move inside on pass rush downs. It completes our DL and has our bookend DEs...

Re: Ryan Poles Presser
Poles said his son has Fields' jersey. I have to put some blame on Poles, he says the team didn't build around Fields in Poles' first year, he had to clean up the salary cap, players not wanted any longer, etc. but he made no efforts to bring in WRs and OL in the draft except a rookie OT in the 5th...

Re: PFF Free Agency Grades for All Teams
No mention of Fields which could harm the grade. Still pretty irrelevant. Re-signed JJ for less than the tag Acquired Gerald Everett Acquired Keenan Allen Signed Byard for half of what EJax would have cost. Don’t really care about the grade but Poles team have had an outstanding FA in my opinion, r...

Re: IOL thoughts
I have no real basis for this, but I truly believe Jenkins wants to play OT. I'd like to think he is going to be a Bear for a long time, but I think there's probably a 70% chance he leaves in FA and gets P A I D. The Bears score a comp pick and find a more traditional guard. As far as Davis goes, u...

His guys in this context means over valuing “try hard” “Uber coachable” type players over elite athletes. There’s a line there that I think he takes too far.

Re: IOL thoughts
With regards to Jenkins' availability, it's worth noting in the past two seasons he's played in 25 games the exact same number as Jaylon Johnson who's just signed a lucrative 4 year extension. Correct. The availability issue is a hangover narrative from his rookie year concerns that are well behind...

I'm getting excited AF about Caleb Williams. My post Fields hangover has lifted, I have visions of CW throwing to DJ and Allen and Kmet, dumping off to Swift and scoring 30 PPG. I still feel like Fields got a raw deal here, but I'm over it completely.

Re: IOL thoughts
That's good for the Davis deal, I didn't look deeper into the Spotrac top level view of their contract values. At 11M, he can be a middle of the road type guard and that's fair value. The guard market just really got out of hand this offseason. I would certainly extend Jenkins before bringing in a F...
