Re: Bears / Hard Knocks

I just don't wanna pay for HBO, or Max, or whatever the fuck it is now... I here that some people out there give out their user names and passwords to one streaming service to a friend who then does the same for another service. That’s stealing judge ark….as an owner of a streaming servi...

Re: R5 P144: Austin Booker, Edge - Kansas

At 6'1" and around 205 lbs, Ed Sprinkle played DE for the Bears, went to the Hall of Fame, and was largely considered the meanest pass rusher of his era. He passed away a few years ago at 90 . He even played TE as well. He was known as "The Claw" for his clothesline tackling. Anyway,...

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC

From the Athletic: The historic odds of a Top-10 QB disappointing in the NFL: 41 percent. That sounds extremely low to me Agree, it all depends on how they define “disappointing” I do agree with the premise that Caleb’s odds will be well above the norm though, for the reasons already given.

Re: Some last minute fill ins for the roster

I'm in on those DL for sure...I can't see Boyd coming here, we already have 3 guys that are gonna need a lot of targets. He wants to go somewhere where he will actually get more action as he's already stuck behind Higgins/Chase in Cincy. It'd be even worse here.

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC

However, a counterpoint I would make often to my SC friends is that look who he is throwing/not throwing too. It was a very pedestrian group of receivers and he was behind a line at SC that makes the Chicago Bear Offensive lines look amazingly good. This is a point that I dont think can be stressed...

Re: R4 P122: Tory Taylor, P - Iowa

He has a big leg, but his ability to place the ball is what is most enticing to me. Rugby/Aussie Rules guys know how to put English on the ball and can make it bounce how they want. When you can pin a team inside the 5 it’s damn near a turnover as teams typically just try and create a little room f...

I really hope you are all right. Days later still thinking a punter is a mistake. You have all given me hope that he's worth it, but he's basically gotta be like a top 3 or 5 punter to be imo. He has a big leg, but his ability to place the ball is what is most enticing to me. Rugby/Aussie Rules guy...

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC

Good God. That is so fucking pathetic. With Allen, Moore, Odunze, and Kmet on the field. He should be able to throw for 130 yards blindfolded. If Williams can average 3,856 yards a season over the course of his rookie contract then by the end of his third year he will be third on the Bears all-time...

Re: The 2024 Draft

It isn't that I WANT Jenkins to go. I just don't think Poles will pay him whatever the market is for an oft injured guard when we have a ton of picks next year. TBH with you I don't know what my preference is. I respect the argument for replacing him via the draft. Jenkins misses a lot of games. Wh...

Re: R3 P75: Kiran Amegadjie, OT - Yale

This kid is a big unknown, limited PT in college and played Ivy League. He could become a starter, he could absolutely blow. The best part is he doesn’t have to start right away, he can adapt to the NFL without being rushed into action.

Re: 2024 Draft: Is This Our Greatest Draft Ever?

Like all drafts, the impact won't be known for several years from now. And this draft is all about Caleb Williams, if he's the goods then this is the best draft ever for us IMO. 90% of that statement will be based on CW achieving elite QB status, everything else is just window dressing IMO.

Re: R4 P122: Tory Taylor, P - Iowa

Only thing I can think of is the wide hash marks giving directional punters an advantage they won’t have in the NFL. Poles said he’s the best punter prospect he’s ever seen, that’s good enough for me.

Plus, my hatred for Gill is the stuff of legends.

Me after drafting CW - Meh, was the obvious pick Me after drafting Rome - Meh, looks like a great player but do we really need another WR? Me after drafting an OT - Why in the heck are we ignoring the biggest hole on our team, the DL? Me after drafting a P: https://uploads.dailydot.com/2020/04/leo-p...

Re: So, how do we address our last hole on the team?

If we sign both Ngakoue and Greene - both available - then we would be really close to last years DL. Poles said in his presser our need was DL but he went BPA - I’m cool with that. I’m happy he knows DL is an issue and I expect he’s going to do something about it. He can’t wait too long, there’s ar...

I've had a man crush on Campbell for many years now. He's old as dirt but can still play. Having him on limited snaps inside would be awesome.

Re: So, how do we address our last hole on the team?

I think we have to count on at least some improvement from Pickens and Dexter and it seems to me no one is doing that. We're not gonna resolve the RDE problem with just one guy this year. Unless Poles gets awfully lucky with his 3rd or 4th round pick it's gonna need to be committee approach. I'd lo...

Re: So, how do we address our last hole on the team?

In his last 3 seasons, Jacob Martin has had 7, 5, and 4 tackles respectively. He's a complete nobody. And DomRob is, and I say this without hyperbole, one of the worst football players I've ever seen get decent P/T here in Chicago. I'm probably over simplifying this, but it just feels to me like DE'...

So, how do we address our last hole on the team?

Poles went absolutely ape shit on offense, adding: Waldron, Williams, Odunze, Allen, Everett, Bates, Shelton, and Swift. I’ve never seen anything like it, it’s a completely different unit and by far the most talent I’ve seen in my lifetime. That said, our DL is our Achilles heel and will prevent us ...

The more I see of Williams, especially in the off-the-cuff stuff that's come out tonight, the more I think he confused some people not because he's outrageously flamboyant or morbidly self-obsessed or any of the other labels some idiots tried to pin on him, but because he's roughly 61% cool nerd. Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?

So the whole "Grizzly" talk from Poles, I'm going to trust. I think he stays put at #9 and takes one of his grizzlys. He seens to like his mid round picks and seems pretty damn good at them. I'm guessing he trades back several times from that 3rd round and ends up with a shit ton of 4, 5,...

I still love Bagent. I'm so glad he's a Bear. BTW, it'll be interesting to see the Bagent and Caleb relationship develop--something tells me they'll hit it off well. They're both very much GenZ and just a year apart in age but they come from such different backgrounds. Bagent from back country West...
