Re: Top 2023 OL Prospects
I like Tippman quite a bit - I don't think we are drafting a C as a starter for this year (as I've said, everything I've heard is that the Front Office still really Lucas Patrick and would like to seem him healthy) but more so to groom for '24 as his contract is up after this year. It's why I see C...

Re: Jalen Carter at 9, what say you?
Your probably right Karhu, but I do worry about forcing DE there at 9 depending on how the board falls. If we go CB, for example, then I think Poles ends up getting caught with his pants down essentially as once Ngokoue and Quinn are gone I'm not sure what else is out there that would represent a d...

Re: 9th Pick
In 2019 as a freshman, saw action in 4 games and played a total of 90 snaps for the Buckeyes. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and just one sack while playing at left tackle. As a sophomore in 2020 he played in just 3 games and a total of 80 snaps. He conceded just one QB hurry, not a single Q...

Oh yeah? Just wait 11 days. LOL J/K - I thought he was closer to 30 my bad. lol, I'm not really a big fan of the guy I just want another competent body available as I don't have any faith at all in DomRob or Gipson and I don't want Poles to be forced to draft a guy higher than he should based on ne...

Re: 2023 Free Agency News / Rumors / Transactions
Interesting metric. However, it corresponds fairly well to inverse of how they finished last year, which isn't terribly informative. Bad teams get more draft capital. Winning teams have to let more quality free agents go, due to having more quality and tighter caps. I'm not sure draft capital is ev...

Re: 2023 Free Agency News / Rumors / Transactions
At least one team goes worst to first almost every year Wulfy, no reason why that can't be us. We have the QB, we are moving into the 2nd year of both our O and D schemes so will see improvement just from that. We played more rookies than anyone, so we will see improvement from that. And we have in...

He rejected a bigger offer from the Eagles than what he accepted with the Lions. Apples and oranges. He wanted more than the Eggles wanted to pay, and for years. The Lion got him on a one year prove-it deal. $8MM is a lot for a prove-it, but I believe he wants more like $12MM for 4 years. Agent pla...

Re: DL Reconstruction…so far
It would be very nice to hit on 2 DL overall
Looking at the 2024 roster (Assuming resigning Kmet, JJ and at least one of the WR) - we are young (Whitehair is over 30 and the new DE/DT we signed will be turning 30). Not many holes - And we will have 2 1sts

Re: 9th Pick
I like Jones and think he will be a middle of the road starting RT at the next level. To me, that means constantly ranking somewhere between 10-20. That said, when watching his full games, I see him struggling just a little to get out vs the speed rush…He recovers because of his long arms, but in s...

IF - and its a SIZEABLE IF - they think Jenkins can play RT That means we go into the draft with the following 2023 Needs (granted longer term playing IS needed) - DL - 3rd CB - Backups End List Even if Jenkins can play RT, given his injury history (he’s only played more than 50% of the snaps in 11...

Re: RB’s in the draft
Why would there be any HB pick at this point? Maybe R7, if you're totally out of options and really like someone for the PS. Absolutely no HB on our roster (and I like Herbert - liked the Foreman signing, etc) says You cant Draft a HB - especially when we are talking 3rd Round. Heck - if we drafted...

Since its my job and all: 12 Months ago we were NOT hurting for Cap Space! Sorry RichH, have to disagree. If that’s all you’re picking up though I consider that a win  We absolutely had PLENTY of Cap Space (Literally there was NOT 1 FA signed last year that you couldn't have fit their dea...

Love Jones since day 1. Still do. But he is not what we are looking for as in scheme fit. As Poles said in his conversation about why we didn't go for Orlando Brown. You want a scheme fit to Tee. Even though he isn't a first-rounder. Here he is. BLAKE FREELAND OT BYU | NFL DRAFT PROFILE & SCOUT...

Re: 9th Pick
I thought the Wright kid was the talk at the Senior Bowl? I thought he impressed everyone so much that he went from a mid 2nd to a potential mid 1st. Then, I believe he impressed with his measurables at the combine as well I absolutely fell in love with Jones during that first Senior Bowl practice....

Re: DL Reconstruction…so far
Well...he declared after his redshirt sophomore season, didn't he? Yeah, he's raw. I don't care. Draft him at #9. I'll be doing cartwheels. Yes, and so you’re not drafting him based on his actual production but a projection of what he could become based on his physical tools. If he doesn’t live up ...

Re: Update: Jets/Packers finalizing deal for Rodgers
I guess it mostly boils down to me trusting Gutekunst and LaFleur more than you do... :D They are sharp guys. I'm sure LaFleur will modify the offense to address Love essentially being a newbie, simpliefied. They also lack talent - I am optimistic this ends badly Magically the 20+ year "conspi...

Re: 9th Pick
On the 9th Pick - and Bears drafting in general. MY speculation (just speculation) I think we will do two things (MAYBE at the same time) I think we will trade down from #9 - but trade up in the 2nd I don't know why but Seattle strikes me as interesting. I could see them pulling the trigger on a guy...

It keeps getting brought up because no one ever engages on the actual point. I just want to have a smart discussion about one particular part of the plan, and I’m not sure why you don’t. I don’t want to argue, I want to exchange ideas with smart people. Don’t you? Honest question: If you had to gue...

Re: CJ Gardner-Johnson still available
I like the player and think he has the ability to play NB with Gordon moving to CB2. It's hard to say where he fits in the safety market. There are good players getting $5m and others getting $16m APY. One thing we know about Poles is he has a number and he won't budge so I guess we'll just see wha...

Re: CJ Gardner-Johnson still available
Bears only have their 2 & 5 safeties back signed and healthy from last year. They could absolutely use some depth and insurance. But has his price fallen that far? I get the feeling that they aren't looking to permanently replace Eddie until they're sure he's broken. On that note, I wonder what...
