Re: 2 current NFLers arrested for armed robbery
You'd think that, but you never know. Aaron Hernandez couldn't help killing people even though he was set for life. Some people are just idiots.

Re: Schedule is out - prediction time!
Nate Davis from USA Today predicted 3-13 for the Bears. Even if you're down on the team I find that pretty stupid.

Re: Bears decline Trubisky’s fifth year option
I believe they just offered 20 million dollars a year to Teddy Bridgewater before trading for Foles. If you think that was to be in a quarterback competition and not the face of the franchise, you're crazy. And yet, Teddy isn’t here, is he? Which has what to do with what? He went somewhere where th...

Re: Bears decline Trubisky’s fifth year option
I highly doubt race played a part here, every other Pace 1st rd pick has been black. It would be very out of character and a nonstarter for any GM to think that way ... I don’t want to beat this to death but “stud Running Back” or “monster Pass Rusher” is one thing. “Face of the Franchise” is somet...

I highly doubt race played a part here, every other Pace 1st rd pick has been black. It would be very out of character and a nonstarter for any GM to think that way. I just think Pace was enamored with Trubiskys measurables and upside and had his mind made up. Horribly stupid, Watson was a no brain...

He said he's basically best friends with Skrine, which is what made him decide to sign with the Bears.

I had a perception of him as a competent starting safety, but PFF has dissolve disliked him for a while. Not that they're the end all be all, but it's something.

Re: Rd5, P155: EDGE Trevis Gipson, Tulsa
My initial anger was related to the first report I read that it was a trade up, which would have been an insane price to pay. I'm much more of a trade down guy than the reverse, but keeping 163 made it ok, just not necessarily what I would have done.

Re: Let's look at our OL competition
Bars was also listed as a tackle in his few regular season appearances, but I never once noticed him in a game, so can't say that's where he played. He got 12 whole snaps according to Pro football reference. You didn't even notice where he played?! If I remember right, and I probably don't, I think...

I didn't realize that, but comp picks had a lot to do with my Tony Jefferson interest. I'd like any of the SS types who get mentioned around here all the time.

They just released Dax Raymond too. So the thinning out of the tight end room is well under way.

Re: Poll: Pace's Draft Grade for 2020 Draft
The only picks I feel even remotely qualified to comment on are the Johnson one the Kmet one. Johnson I liked and thought was a good injury risk. The Kmet one I didn't like. I get it, and I don't hate it, but I thought there were much better options.

Re: Rd5, P173: WR Darnell Mooney, Tulane
Apparently Pace is all in on the "our offensive line sucked because of coaching" theory. He'd better be right or that seat is going to get mighty hot.

Re: Rd5, P155: EDGE Trevis Gipson, Tulsa
He looks like he belongs standing up to me, so most likely in passing situations Quinn will have his hand in the dirt and Gipson will be standing up. Be my guess anyway.

Re: Bears trade up - pick 155 Trevis Gipson DE Tulsa
They gave up a 4th next year to move up. Color me unimpressed with this trade at this point. I'm really sick of trading future picks. Edit: actually Hoge is now reporting it wasn't a trade up and the Bears still have 163. If so I guess it's not as bad as I thought. https://twitter.com/AdamHoge/statu...

If that shoulder holds up, he's a round 1 corner in the second half of round 2. Good gamble either way.

Re: 2020 NFL Draft General Discussion
Not what I would have done with the picks given who was available, but hopefully they both end up being good players for us. Neither are head scratchers, IMO. Just gotta give them the benefit of the doubt at this point. They're Bears now, so I'm rooting for them! I agree, both are picks that made s...
