Re: Bears sign C Coleman Shelton to 1yr $3M deal
I don’t know anything about this guy Shelton. But just looking at cost of acquisition I see Bates as the starter. I’ve liked Bates for a while tho, so I’m biased. Any cut ups available on this guy? He played a lot so there must be something I posted a couple of clips earlier in this thread DP.

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I think it's got to be a DE. From my mocks that I've done, both Verse and Latu fall in the 14-17 range, but I think that the position is such a huge need that we can't risk it. I expect he'll get one or the other at #9. It would not shock me at all if Poles came out of the draft with only four picks.

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
I have no idea if this is true or not. This is just a perception I have. I think Poles and Williams talked and Williams knows he’s the pick. But they both kept silent while JF1 was with the organization. JF1 earned a clean exit without the shadow over him. If my perception is right I think it’s a c...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
I'm not trying to criticize CW in this last one, just trying to show what a two faced turd JT was when it came to Justin. He clearly hated him. Be consistent in your analysis DAWG. :flick: JT O'Sullivan had Justin Fields as his top QB in the 2021 Class and was one of Luke Getsy's biggest critics wh...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
The biggest criticism of Justin Fields was his inability to anticipate and throw accordingly. I finally saw Justin make such a throw against Atlanta last year. But with the move now made, I've been looking at a lot of clips of Caleb Williams. Thus far, I have yet to find an example of an anticipato...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
Well, the Bears beat writers I read/listen to have been pretty consistent, even before the season ended, that a Fields trade was essentially imminent. In fact, outside of a few youtube contrarians (controversy = clicks) and some emotionally invested individuals here, I didn't see anything pointing ...

Caleb fans, don't kill the messenger. ;) Are you claiming that's compelling? Because it isn't. I thought it was extremely compelling and very logical. Unfortunately, it seems people have been watching too much politics and they use ad hominem attacks rather than addressing his points. He makes a bu...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
Interesting perspective from Orlovsky. Fields' representation likely wouldn't tolerate JF1 being in a lame duck situation. https://x.com/danorlovsky7/status/1768618957701861391?s=20 Stupid take. WTF are their agents going to be about it? Caleb might hold out, which he might do anyway. Justin? WTF i...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
Also, I think he's not a player who you would bring on to maximize Fields, since he is more of a technician/precise route runner type WR, where you have to anticipate and throw to precise locations instead of just hope the other teams inexplicably plays man coverage and he breaks free. To be fair t...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
It's not punishment. It's consequences of his actions. He didn't take medicals at the Combine. He wouldn't meet with the Bears until after his Pro Day. The Bears wanted to be able to appraise him so they could move on from Fields if they chose. By doing this, he negated their ability to do that, so ...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
How is his foot fracture? Is that still an issue? I’ve spent so much time on Odunze v Nabers that I have t put a lot into DL at 9. Of what I’ve seen I do like Newton without knowing how the foot is but I like Verse at DE. He had the surgery in January after playing with it half the season. I think ...

My god the personal stuff around here is out of hand. The Fields haters are just getting outright nasty, please chill with the personal stuff people. TMP makes a really smart point, one I've echoed before and have read about elsewhere. Essentially, if you can't "out QB" Mahomes, how do yo...

Re: Bears trade 4th rd pick to Chargers for WR Keenan Allen
Oh, another thing. If Allen is being brought in to mentor, it could be it's not just for a draftee. What about Velus and Scott? I know most on the board simply hate Velus, but both Velus and Scott are Poles' draft picks. Regardless of how others feel about them, Poles wants to see them develop. Who ...

This is a win now move, and with this move, I think that Justin is staying. Not saying he's not going to pick Caleb. He very well might. But Justin should be on our roster next year. He gives us the best chance to win now. I would say that this move is "doing right by Justin Fields." If yo...
