Re: Bears officially submit bid for Arlington

Umm no, they are not the San Jose 49ers, Arlington Cowboys, or Glendale Cardinals. You stick with the major metropolitan area.

Re: Nagy optimism

A QB that misses open receivers, either with his eyes or the pass, is going to make any coach look bad. I do fault Nagy for giving Coward as much time as he did, but most of the wasted yards on this team the last 3 years fall squarely on #10's shoulders.

If Butt is healthy he should make the roster. Pennel has a chance if Tonga shows nothing and ends up on the practice squad. Do not see Wheatley making the roster or practice squad.

Won't they have to cut two people? I thought the roster was at 89 with the release of Darrion Clarke earlier this week.

Re: Bears officially submit bid for Arlington

The lease runs through 2033, but it would take about 5 years to design and build the stadium. So really the Bears would only have to buy out 5-6 years of the current lease. Also, from reading the interwebs the lease is only $6.3M per year. So the Bears could conceivably keep paying the lease and sti...

That is only half the quote...total clickbait. Nagy said: "No. I mean Andy is our starter. Again I can't predict anything. You know how it goes. There's so many things that can happen between today and Week 1. But Andy is our starter and Justin is our No. 2 and we're going to stick to this plan...

Our TE depth is severely lacking. I would expect a Day 2 or early Day 3 pick will be used on someone to complement Kmet next draft.

Re: Excited Delirium Over Fields

Fact is no QB is ever ready for their first start, does not matter if he is a rookie or a 5 year back up. As long as Fields first start is not a do or die situation I am good with it. He should either start week 18 because the Bears are resting their starters or whenever they get mathematically elim...

Re: If we can't trade Foles, what about a Dalton cut/trade

It looks like he has 2 void years https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/andy-dalton-7750/ so his signing bonus is a $2.5 million hit in 22 and 23. So I think if we cut or traded him half would hit this year and half next year. So basically the salary we shed would be close to a wash depending o...

Re: If we can't trade Foles, what about a Dalton cut/trade

Not quite true either, the Bears would save the $2.5 base if they trade him. It is past June 1st so the big part of the bonus will hit next year regardless of what happens with Dalton.

Re: If we can't trade Foles, what about a Dalton cut/trade

No...the Bears gave Dalton a $7.5M signing bonus. They are going to pay $2.5M of that this year and $5M next year whether or not Dalton is on the Bears. His new team would only have to pay his $2.5M base salary in a trade.

TE is a need too, Jesper Horsted is your TE 3 right now. CB or TE is all that would really make sense now after the draft.

Re: $30MM more in Fun Money for '22

Don't get too excited, the Bears already have about $10M in dead cap hits for next year because of Leno, Dalton, Tashaun Gibson, and Damien Williams. The latter three have void years on a one year deal so they will count over $6M next year even though they only signed for one year. Pace really needs...

Re: Bears WR Discussion

Give ARob a 4 year $85M contract about half guaranteed. That contract will expire the same time as Fields rookie deal and ARob will be 32. Structure so his cap hit is the same this year and cheap next year so you can fill in any holes.
