Re: Sell me on Lukas Van Ness
I worry about the fact that he's rocked up but his bench still sucks. He's "explosive" but his vert sucks? His 40 and 10-yard split are both fine... Its true that he's raw and needs coaching on pass rush moves so he'll get BETTER but I wonder about his ceiling. I'm with UOK in feeling ske...

Re: Titans release LT Taylor Lewan, WR Robert Woods, and their kicker
Woods would be a veteran presence for the WR corps but if making a move I hope Poles chooses to aim higher.
I would like to add a vet to help the young guys see how to prepare and mentor in general, but either a solid move TE or a better #1 option (likely only available via trade) would be best.

Orlando Brown (Hon Mention - Barkley) McGary (Hon Mention - Gesicki) Pocic - (Hon Mention - Samson Ebukam) Leighton Vander Esch I'm putting it all on Fields to show he is the guy for the massive contract. Brown Jr - Braxton Jones - Pocic - Jenkins - McGary is a top 5 OL in the league, and possibly a...

Re: Possible Trade Scenarios for #1
The selfish part of me wants to take the Texans trade, then take CAR's trade right after, maybe give them the 4th rounder that would have been given to IND on that trade to help ensure it goes through.

Re: Free Agency- Give me 4 names
OT - McGary or Brown Jr DT - Payne or Hargrave DE - Jones or Allen HB - Barkley or Jacobs Being as run heavy as the Bears are likely to be they will need to add an OT and I have no doubt Jones can kick to RT - likely will be better there even. I am kinda loving the idea of monsters like Brown and D...

Re: Bush, anyone?
I have no issues with him competing for the WILL spot. I'm not skipping any prospects because he is signed of course, but if he beats out people at WILL, great. If not he becomes a super-sub at WILL and MIKE. I am not sure he would really be an improvement over Morrow but I'm fine with signing both ...

Re: Aaron Rodgers Off-Season
I'm hoping the Packers hold onto him wanting more than a team will give them and then Rodgers says 'screw it, I'll just retire." He's gone, Packers get nothing for him. Or, after no one give them what they want he either gets knocked out the first play of the year or when the Bears play him. I...

Re: Kaiser's Off Season Plan
I haven’t given up on Whitehair and I’m not sure the Bears should either. He played next to a rookie LT and Mustipher, and battled injuries + new offense + lots of OL lineup changes. I’d bring in some real competition and see what happens. We need to protect against a Jenkins injury also, so we rea...

The Bears also used Fields' legs as a major threat and averaged over 10 rushes a game. Meanwhile Burrow would scramble to avoid a sack but totaled about 4 runs per game.
They were a top 10 passing attack and bottom 10 rushing attack.

Re: Bears have 2nd best pass blocking OL in the NFL
I know right? The only thing I can think of is that they wanted to keep one man back to help spy FIelds, and knew they could get pressure on passing downs pretty consistently with 4 or 5. Because at least with Mixon there was a super talented passing attack to contend with. We were abysmal as a pas...

Re: Poll: Addressing RB
I took Saquon. He is a top runner and a top receiving threat. I'd take (in order) Saquon, Jacobs, Pollard, Monty, then Williams. But I also lump the cap hits for QBs and HBs together since the ball is (almost) always in one of their hands. So rookie contract is when I am willing to throw money at RB...

Re: Steelers fan on Claypool
So "has a man open" is the same as having a safety over the top and a trail-man. lol The whole play was shit for PIT. Terrible read, worse throw, and bad adjustment to the underthrow. Blocking was good actually. If that clip is supposed to suggest the pick was on Claypool, I don't think i...

Re: Bears have 2nd best pass blocking OL in the NFL
I'd argue that it is far easier to find cheap replacements for Monty than not. Herbert was the better runner this year IMO. I'd rather look to let Monty walk and see if I can find someone better than Herbert. I don't want to throw $7-8 mil to Monty to be the 3rd best runner on the team. We'll have ...

Now Monty on the other hand. 3 yards, 3 yards, 6 yards, 3 yards, 3 yards. There is value in that, though. I'm beginning to really warm to the notion of keeping Montgomery and "replacing" Herbert with an even better back... I'd argue that it is far easier to find cheap replacements for Mon...

Re: Bears to target OL in FA
I don’t think this is an aggressive enough approach fellas. We have a big problem and half measures aren’t going to fix it. This is what we’ve done for the last 20 years and is exactly why we are where we are. We need to get more aggressive because that’s what our competitors have been doing. We ca...

Re: Is there anyone here who wants to trade JF?
I definitely don't want to, but if the haul would be exorbitant then by all means I will listen to offers. I'm not particularly high on the QBs here but if this was 2024's draft class I do like Williams and Maye. Regardless I much prefer to stack talent around Fields, then if he ends up not being wo...

I'm grading based on some context for them (IE: rookie expectations and draft slot. Compared to vets their grades would be knocked down). This is just based on their rookie seasons, could go up or down dramatically from here on out. Kyler Gordon B- Moving from outside to NB is a rough adjustment, do...

Re: DL line priority and FA
The Cover 2 is predicated on getting pressure with 4, and we had zero people do that reliably. Our DEs were constantly getting beat outside, so gap integrity was just as poor there too. Bears need to get 2 bigger signings ($10+ mil per year as Mikefive mentioned), 1 mid-starter, and 1 depth guy. Jus...

I'm at the point I want a TON of competition across the board. Keep everybody, don't cut Whitehair, Patrick, or anyone. You save $9 mil of you cut Whitehair in 2024 as opposed to under $6 mil for this year. Patrick is off the books in 2024, and Leatherwood and Borom are signed through 2024. Go sign...

Re: Bears have 2nd best pass blocking OL in the NFL

In a scenario where the Bears draft Anderson and are running a 4-2 Nickel as their "real" base defense. Could Mack and Anderson be credible ends on the field at the same time in such an alignment? I guess you'd line up Anderson at weak side and Mack on the strong side, but I don't really ...
