Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Getting amped up for sure! There's too many different ways this can go, it's driving me nuts! WR, OT, EDGE, DT -- and I can make a valid argument for each position -- fucking hell Thankfully it's pick 9 and not 2nd round. Whichever way it goes, it's gonna be a good player. If Poles can find a real ...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

No one was worried about the $6M - it's the long term contract that would ensue. If JF's next contract would get be $15M ... guess what? He sucks. If that was the outcome, guess what? I wouldn’t pay him 15M either. The point is that for 6M we could have found out. Everything else is conjecture. Pla...

Thank God the Blazers didn't listen to Knight.
Yeah, they took Sam Bowie instead. Can anybody think of a worse draft pick? It's much worse than the trade for Mirer. At least that trade didn't mean losing out on the GOAT.
We took Trubisky over Mahomes, it's pretty damn close!

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Makes sense to me. I’d have had Bowers as a possibility but we signed Everett and I don’t like the hit rate on highly drafted TEs. Because Bears - it makes total sense to me that there are 8 guys that would be great choices for us, and we pick 9th. Don't get TMP started about those useless late sea...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

This pick is so interesting in the sense that its quite possible that offensive players take up 9 of the first 10 picks in this draft. Does that afford Poles the confidence to trade back some to get a DE in the teens somewhere and pick up a 2nd round pick that can be used on WR or safety?

Are we done with the "we're a team, now" crap and unsubstantiated leadership issues when it comes to Caleb now? I haven't been following much lately.

Just a reminder why we are in this unbelievable position we find ourselves. https://twitter.com/BadTakeFuges/status/1768474865294561519?t=MdJ6AEjmr8_go7YhD5HrqQ&s=19 The hilarious part of course was that the Texans didn't even wait until Black Monday to fire Lovie. They did it like five minutes...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Such a tough decision with only 4 picks. I think DE helps this team more early on, but if Nabers/Odunze are there I'm not sure you can pass that up.

Re: Justin Fields traded to Pittsburgh for conditional pick

I’m not in it for Justin’s happiness, I’m in it to solve the 100 years Bears QB problem. And having your rookie QB sit and learn their first year is not an outlier. 3 years would be an outlier, I wasn’t suggesting we go that far. They’ve built a good infrastructure for Caleb Williams lots of compet...

Re: Justin Fields traded to Pittsburgh for conditional pick

I am so glad this part is over. Justin Fields is total class. I feel like Poles did him a solid by trading him to Pittsburgh rather than holding on longer and probably getting more in return nearer the draft.

I go out for a day of drinking with my brother and come back to a whirlwind. I'm going to ask him if he wants to do the same soon, but only for the benefit of the Bears.

I just wonder..if the general consensus is CW is 100% sure fire "generational talent"..why were so many retread QBs taken in FA ? Would they not want the sure fire wonder boy and trade whatever they can to get to him..? I wonder what teams are left that would have interest in the almighty...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

So you’re going to pass on the best quarterback prospect the Bears have ever been in a position to draft for someone you’re not 100% sure is the franchise quarterback? Yes. Sorry this seems to bother you so much. CW isn't 100% either, no one is. Just my opinion, and it means very little Plank. I ag...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

Side note question.... IF the Bears select CWill at 1, does the wr success up north in GB recently (reed 2nd rd, wicks 5th) give Poles the go ahead to trade #9 even if Nabers/Odunze are there? I get that these 2 are absolute studs but there is also great value in the first 3 rounds in my mind. Would...

Luckily for us, we don't have to give up anything for CW if Poles thinks he is a lead pipe cinch to lead this team. With great fortune comes great responsibility.

I'm guessing Waldron feels like he will be an asset in the QB room whether it's Fields or drafted QB. Was hoping for Doug Williams instead of Mark though

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie

Jesus that's a lot of money for a 30yr old WR. Side note: the Titans are absolutely stacked at WR. With all these signings we gotta hope there are cuts that are decent enough to round out this roster. Personally, I think Poles missed an opportunity with Hunter, but maybe that's where he was wanting...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

A double trade down with a legit haul from Washington along with some goods from NE would be hard to turn down even if you (Poles) believe in Williams wholeheartedly . Let's see where this crazy train takes us fans. Honestly - it wouldn't. Its the most important position in all of sports and if you...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

If we’re drafting with #1 then it’s Caleb. I don’t want Mitch Maye (I see Mitch in him) I don’t want Daniels (he’s Fields lite) So if we’re trading the #1 then it’s trade down to 2 or 3 or double trade down to 3 and take MHJ. Assuming you get a high second in the trade down, I want McCarthy as a QB...

This is getting petulant. If Poles drafts CW, half of this board needs to cope. If he doesn't, the other half copes. In the end, this isnt our livelihoods that are at stake. Relax, everybody! Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

There is none of this drama surrounding Maye or Daniels. Why not trade down one spot with Washington and take one of those guys? Well, as I've said for a while now - IF we decide to draft a QB at 1, then CW is my choice. Even with these concerns. His upside is massive and I'll draft for that upside...
