For about the first 1/2 of the '18 season until he was completely figured out.

Eberflus made the first round of musical chairs and has been invited for a 2nd interview next week. The Jags are doing the same.

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

4 teams are looking at GM and coach. The Giants have only interviewed GM candidates so far. The Bears, Vikings, and Raiders are interviewing for both positions at the same time.

Re: So if you were the Bears next GM..

WR is a concern, the Bears are going to have to draft 2 guys at that position. The team was done a great disservice by Newsome, Graham, and Jenkins not getting enough playing time for meaningful evaluation despite the ship already having foundered and sinking fast. The defensive scheme of the new D...

Re: Who do you like in the playoffs

Rams-Bucs will be a knockdown dragout physical battle. Can't wait to see it. I'm hoping the 49ers knock the crap out of Erin. Bills-Chiefs should be amazing, the scoreboard might light up light a pinball machine. Joe Burrow is becoming an assassin, I'll be interested to see if he can lead his team o...

Re: Top 3 Highlights of the Nagy Regime

The first half of the first game in '18 when the Bears blew the Pack out of the stadium. Talk about being pumped as a fan. That might have been the high point of the offense all year (TB was horrible that year. Mitch played lights out gouging them but they were TB).

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

If the Bears really intended to hire a GM with control over all football ops, they would have held off on the HC interviews until the GM could interview his candidates, not Bill Polian's. If George intended to honor this power structure, what legitimate reasons could he have for vetoing the new GM's...

Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Supposedly he contacted the Jets and Chargers last year when they hsd coaching vacancies. Also he supposedly has been upfront with potential recruits about interest in the NFL. He's the 8th highest paid football coach in the Big 10 and is supposedly in talks for a new contract. C'mon. George, call h...

Re: GM Canidate: Monti Ossenfort (interviewed)

No offense but I don't think the Bears and Polian are taking suggestions from prospective head coaches. I believe Polian put this list together on his own. None taken. I didn't mean Flores made any sort of demands, just that he might have mentioned working with these guys and the Bears would be sma...

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

I'm assuming the HC interviews so far are all by Zoom and they're going to winnow the list down to finalists for in-person ones. The GM should (better) be on board already for those. It's ridiculous to have cut out a GM for even the Zoom round but, hey, Chicago Bears. For an interesting read, The A...

Good chops in Tennessee. Connection with Flores in New England, might have been requested or suggested by Flores during his interview (as well as McKenzie).

Re: Bears to interview Bills OC Brian Daboll

For the record, all stats from '21: The Bills were 10th in the NFL in passing with 4450 yards, 63.3% completion percentage, 36 TDs to 16 INTS, 6.8 yards per attempt (which was actually only 0.1 yard higher than the Bears). 51 completions longer than 20 yards and 8 longer than 40 (the Bears were 40 a...

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

Should (hopefully) have a new GM within the week. I'm wondering how the guys (Daboll, Frazier, Hackett, Bowles, Leftowich, etc.) whose teams are hot in the playoff hunt feel about being announced as the HC of another team. Do they worry about the effect on their current team? Will this slow down any...

Re: Bears to interview Brian Flores

I wonder if Flores would try to hire Jim Caldwell as OC? Caldwell was the assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach under him in Miami in '18 but had to leave the job because of health issues. Caldwell has helped with the development of several prominent QBs and could do the same for JF.

HC Candidate: Nathaniel Hackett

Currently OC of the Pack. 42 years old. Former OC of the Bills and the Jags. It's hard to say how much he's improved Rodgers, who's rolled over the years with different offensive coordinators. Hackett, though, has always designed offenses with strong running games. Plus it would nominally weaken a d...

Re: GM Candidate: Champ Kelly, Bears Assistant Personnel Dir.

I wonder if the Bears think hiring him will negate their attempts to appear to be moderning. If so, Kelly's time with the team would be over, he'd be better off moving to another team unless they promote him to a higher player personnel position. This might be doable if they hire a GM who's more of ...

Re: The GOAT Is Pure Class

Wonderful action. No one knows if the Babe actually promised a kid in the hospital that he'd hit 2 homers for him (which he ended up doing) but this is a verified selfless act. Along with the increasing number of humerous Brady commercials, he's changed my mind on him as a person.

Truly love 49ers over the 'Boys, I detest them almost as much as the Viqueens. If they beat the Pack next week, and they only lost at the last second when they played earlier in the season, it would be Xmas in January. We've seen the last of Big Ben, what a career. Too bad we didn't hire Arians, who...

10 members of the Board of Directors. 5 are McCaskeys. 2 are McKenna and Pat Ryan. None have any football experience. It's no mystery why George and Ted are retained and the ineptitude continues. Rooney and Mara kids were football guys by the time they took top positions with their organizations.

Re: Bears to interview Bills OC Brian Daboll

His stock just exploded after the Bills kicked the Pats all over the field last night and Josh Allen was almost perfect in his performance. One thing about a guy like Daboll is that other teams won't hire away your OC after a few years.
