Re: Jeff Bezos & The Bears?

Short of him blowing the McCaskeys out of the water with a truly obscene offer, they ain't selling anytime in the next few years. Just as long as he followed the Paul Allen-Mark Cuban model of ownership but uberwealthy guys, not the Daniel Snyder model.

Re: Bears Most Attractive Job?

The Bears have to be considered an attractive job. 3rd biggest city, fanatical fans, possible new stadium in the works to energize people. Dump Pace first, get rid of Ted (put him in charge of a stadium project and hire a football operations guy), and it gets even better.

Re: Matt Nagy deserves a little credit

Well I think that's highly debatable but you might have a point, TWB. I guess I could live with Matt finding a niche in Wisconsin somewheres. :D Matt Nagy will never be a HC in the NFL again. He has literally no accomplishments to back up a resume. Between coaches that are actually worth a damn and...

Curley Culp RIP

One of my all time faves, an all-time great at defensive tackle. Played for the Chiefs and was dominant in SB IV when he dominated the Viqueens center and had to be doubled much of the time.

Re: Matt Nagy deserves a little credit

I give Nagy credit for not resigning but that's little enough credit, no one wants to lose their job. Dalton or Fields or Foles or Trubisky, Nagy offenses can not deliver the points needed to win consistently. That's the bottom line, that and ownership has allowed this to continue for 4 years.

Re: Has anyone changed their mind on Daboll?

Washington isn’t firing Chico - if they did, he’d instantly be the leading candidate for the bears imo Gettelman and Judge may be out in New Jersey Agree on Zimmer - it’s playoffs or bust for him I would think there may be a discussion or two about whacking Urban Meyer If the Broncos fail to make t...

Re: Has anyone changed their mind on Daboll?

Looking at the teams who might also be hiring a HC: Bears: pretty certain but the McCaskeys are masters of stupidity Giants: they pull the plug on Joe Judge Broncos: might have lost patience with Vic with no playoffs in past 3 years Dolphins: because Stephen Ross WFT: because Daniel Snyder Minny: if...

Re: Has anyone changed their mind on Daboll?

The Bears need a true leader who can run everything. He can hire the OC and DC to concentrate on those aspects. Maybe have a team who avoids stupid penalties, knows what to do every down, manages timeouts correctly, etc.

It is depressing, which is the norm for the Bears. The only good thing is that for the first time in a long while, they’re not going into an offseason looking to draft a decent QB.

$790M to be paid by the NFL. I wonder how much, if any, owners besides Kroenke will be on the hook for. They did approve the move so I'll assume each will pay something.

Re: Hub Arkush: George McCaskey instructed team to start Fields

After JF was drafted, Pace/Nagy should have been directed to open up competition in training camp if the owner wanted to put the best team on the field. This coming out now just demonstrates even more what a true chickenshit organization the Bears have become.

The Seahawks have had great success under Carroll and John Schneider. Can't stand Carroll, his cheating at USC but he makes guys earn a starting spot, he allows them to compete. Schneider and Pace both have that 'smartest guy in the room' syndrome. Schneider's sold his draft picks for vets, Pace by...

Re: Rumor: Nagy to be Fired after Thanksgiving

Regardless of Nagy being fired now or after the season, ownership and Phillips have allowed a bad situation to totally devolve into a clown show. Gives potential GM and coaching candidates pause for working for such an organization. But someone will, they'll just ask for 5 year contracts.

Jason Garrett was fired after the Giants managed just 10 points in their MNF loss to Tampa. This is what accountability looks like.

Regardless of Nagy's thoughts on the best QB to run his offense, it just makes sense to hold out Fields and give him the extra days to heal. Which of course, means he'll be the starter.

It used to be the Browns you didn't want your team to be compared to. The Lions have a lock on that team now, with the Bears making a strong move to take over the position.

Reminds me of an old Lone Ranger joke when he and Tonto are surrounded by hostile Indians. He turns to his faithful sidekick, says "it looks like the end for us". Tonto looks at him and replies "what do you mean 'us', paleface?" The knives are out on this one.

Greg Roman. I'd take strong looks at Toub and Todd Bowles. Too few college guys can successfully make the jump to the pros to take a swing at Ryan Day or Lincoln Riley.

2022 Salary Cap

Seeing who's already under contract for next year is an interesting look into offseason needs. Daniels and Mustipher are not signed, will the Bears extend one/both? Possibly Daniels, he's been a highly rated guard but I imagine no offer to Mustipher. Nichols is not under contract. I was leaning towa...

If the Bears have a bad showing against the Lions, win or lose, Nagy has to go if McCaskey has any hope of preventing the team from becoming a laughing stock. The Bears are quitting on him. That was clear on Sunday. No one has any confidence in what he's doing. I think that Nagy is heavily influenc...

I like the makeup of this team. Yeah, they lost 2 to the '76ers although I think a rematch would be different, they're playing completely different now. Great point differential, one of the best in the league. Scrapping, hustling team, which is my type of ball. The 'Hawks tore it down and ended up w...
