Re: The 2024 Draft
Big mistake by Poles. Very disappointing. Maybe his biggest gaffe thus far. Sorry man, can't agree. This is an excellent move. More targets for Cdub and he covers if DJ or more likely Allen goes down. Without Odunze, we were screwed. Just let Poles do his magic in the mid rounds moving up and down....

Having a shorter field may help them WIN games, but it won't help them learn to adapt to the pro game's differences.

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized
Respectfully, I disagree that the WR and DE positions are basically of the same import. The issue isn't as simple as "both positions could have an injury, so hedging your bet with an extra player at that position is the same for both". It's not that simple: if we draft a DE and he or Swea...

Re: Different trade scenario
why this absurd fascination with the WR position? the Bears have DJ Moore & Keenan Allen and whoever is the QB will only have so many throws a game to share the ball with the WR's, TE's and RB's if they want to get WR help in later rounds, fine ... but to use the #9 pick on a WR would be absolu...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized
One of Odunze or Turner will be there at 9. Take whichever is there and it’s a win. Barring a team hopping up to 7, I think that's probably the case. The biggest difference in the 3rd WR vs the 3rd DE is that the 3rd DE is going to see more opportunities than the 3rd WR. If you have them graded equ...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
Comparisons to Mahomes and Rodgers. Ranked ahead of Burrows and Lawrence in the same draft. Elite arm. Exceptional play making skills. Rushing ability. High completion percentage. All of that praise and yet he only give him a 21% chance of being elite? Is that because it's the Bears who'll draft hi...

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
If something happened to Keenan Allen or DJ Moore, we'd be right back to last year's problems with our WR room. If something happened to Jones or Wright, that strong looking oline suddenly looks pretty suspect. I know I don't want Borom protecting Caleb. The difference between those and D is, our D...

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots
Fair enough, but I think you are pretty dramatically under valuing what Justin Jones brought last year, and I think that the way to compensate since we didn't sign a FA there is by kicking Walker inside more often. Jones got a nice contract for a reason. And I'm a lot more confident in Scott than I...

I keep saying take the stud that is at 9. The stud OT, the stud WR, the stud DE. When is the next time this team will have the chance to put two top 10 picks on the team in the same year? If it is Odunze, I would jump all over that. Build up a kick ass O, the likes us fans have never seen before. W...

Re: "The NFL QB Who Didn't Give A ****"
I feel so old, lol. The Cutler trade was a huge, huge deal around here. His entire Bears tenure was full of botched decisions and missteps by management that didn't pair well with a guy who tended to turn the ball over. The Packers NFC title game should've been the last game for him as a Bear, but ...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I'd love to know how they approached that! Seems like a mistake to arbitrarily divide them up and maybe have them advocating for a guy who isn't really what they want. If it were me, step one would be to say that I'm dividing the staff into groups for each position, and that everyone should go to t...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
Poles has divided the scouting department into Team Ol, Team WR, and Team DE. Each team will make its case for taking one of their guys at #9. So, which team are you on and who's your guy? I'm picking Team WR and making the case for Rome Odunze. I doubt Nabers and Harrison make it to #9. Odunze is ...

Re: 30 Visits
I’d be ok with Bowers, but boy is that a luxury pick I'm not so sure! As others have mentioned, going to a "positionless" scheme could have major advantages to how we manage both the playbook and the roster / draft. With Bowers playing a sort of hybrid TE/WR role that would mean we have L...

Re: New Bears numbers, so far
Perhaps he thinks as long as he's around, he'll never consider any Bear player being a zero. As tradition bound as GMcC is I would guess he may even have had an issue for someone wearing numbers #1 and #2 so he felt he had to draw the line somewhere. At least now he's being an owner and just owning...
