https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6yAC9f_8LM Poles is interesting .... little easter eggs he drops like "there will be indicators in the draft that will tell us where we need to move to acquire the top talent s in the draft" That isn't the same as "move to acquire more draft capital&q...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I've definitely waffled on this as draft day approaches, but I've found myself now just two days out fairly cemented in the "don't take a WR at 9" camp. We've already done the "super duper offense thing" by adding Caleb Williams, Swift, Keenan Allen, Everett, and Bates/Shelton -...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
I could be dead wrong but I get the sense that he has enough EQ to understand how and when to put his cockiness to work. Make no mistake, this is a team full of pros and they will push and haze him until they feel he has earned the right to be cocky. I know one thing — NOBODY wants to go to war wit...

Re: Tampering Cases May Be Decided Before the Draft
And the Eagles are also in hot water with Saquan Barkley. So much smoke on this .... I've read everything from the Vikings/Falcons swap R1s (then you're punishing other teams who did nothing wrong) to turn the Falcons #8 into #32 to have them a lose a 3rd and a 5th. I do think it will happen before ...

Re: Borom may be in jeopardy
Seconds after Wright was drafted last year, Borom sent out a tweet saying "lol" (and then quickly deleted it).
He thinks he's starter material.
He is probably alone in that regard. Check that, his gramma might think he is too.
His mama does not.

Re: Bears v Cardinals, October 2006 on NFL Network right now
I was watching at my dad's house, and when the 3rd quarter ended, I drove home. When I got home, my dad called to tell me they made a comeback, and that I should check it out. I remember watching the very end and soaking in that legendary post-game presser. I also remember listening to the "Fo...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I've been running this logic through my head and I'm not liking the answer I keep coming up with. WR just isn't making logical sense to me. We traded a 4th for Allen. We are taking CW at #1. Allen is a UFA after this season, and we aren't really in a position to think Super Bowl this year. So, a lo...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
Part of me loves that he set his whole pro day up as a massive troll to naysayers and other GMs. There's also a part of me that....does not love that. He has a very high level of .... should we say "confidence" in himself. I promise you, Caleb is keeping receipts. Hopefully, he'll be good...

That’s the first time I’ve seen that game. We were on a trip in Ireland when that game happened and couldn’t find a pub anywhere in Cork that carried it. Obviously, saw the highlights, but never the game.

https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/04/21/chicago-bears-byron-murphy-nfl-draft/ There's. That. Name. Again. With Biggs talking about it now, I almost expect Murphy to be the pick. I think Poles (and ‘flus) have basic physical requirements for DL (especially). Despite the tape, Murphy literally does...

If you have an hour, I’d highly recommend watching this Caleb interview on the Pivot … with Fred Taylor, Channing Crowder and Ryan Clark. https://youtu.be/JsczrmkO-Yc?si=ACUvlVW2bIeR6eBX Really get a good sense of his leadership style, personality - how he reacted to the Fields trade, etc. He’s got ...

It’ll be interesting to see when the Offensive Tackle Run begins. There are about 4 that can go from 7 to 14.

Re: 2024 Offseason Program
I think at some point, you've got to move past the Money Ball approach to roster building (there is a time and place for it) and focus on acquiring playmakers. Swift's versatility is super exciting and having two quality backups will be necessary in an NFL season. With the amount of cap space they h...

I have too many bad memories of Chris Williams and Kevin White .... if the medicals aren't pristine, I'm passing in the first round (Latu and Newton are my concerns). Separately, Trevor Sikkema of PFF was on with the CHGO crew yesterday and he loves Newton. A Top 10 pick for him. I've not heard anyo...

Rams could use a few pieces on the defense side of the ball. If a trade down for Verse is a consideration, not sure you want to go past the Rams.

Re: Different trade scenario
I'd love a scenario to move back from 9 about 5 or 6 spots, get a R2 in the 40s, for example: Raiders pick at 13 and their R2 at 44. I would, too, but that requires some luck. By (original) trade chart 9 to 13 is only worth their R3. You'd have to go back 10 spots for it to be worth 44 Standard dis...

I always like to spot the unusual names in the Beast by Dane. One of my all time favorites was Wesly Mallard of the Oregon Ducks. This year, it has to be either Storm Duck of Louisville or Level Price of Montana State or Andrew Bloodsaw of Clark Atlanta. And we can only wait until next year when Ge...
