Re: 9th Pick
By the time his playing career was over, The Round Mound of Touchdowns, Jared Lorenzen , was likely bigger as well. A moment of silence for the Hefty Lefty. Heaviest player ever in the NFL was Aaron Gibson: A blue-chip prospect out of Wisconsin, Gibson was once the heaviest player in NFL history, o...

Re: Looking Into Round 2
Tuli Tuipulotu, DT, USC Gervon Dexter Sr., DT, Florida State Tuli weighed in at 260 at the Combine - after being listed at 290 at Southern Cal. If he's really 260, he's probably a DE. Dexter is a guy who had a lot of hype during the early mocks in January - and despite having a good Combine, seems ...

Agree on the Lions - my pick to win the North.
Goff played very well last year: 4400 yards 29/7 (much better than Stafford btw)

Re: CJ Gardner-Johnson still available
This dude is a Grade A A-Hole. I'm not sorry he's not on the Bears, but don't want to seem him twice a year either. Bears WRs have shown a complete lack of composure around this guy - probably ended the career of both Wims and Miller in Chicago. (I mean ... they kind of ended it with their play, bu...

Re: 2023 Free Agency News / Rumors / Transactions
We tend to forget that this team had the first pick this year because they were the WORST IN THE LEAGUE.
A move to 7 wins this year would be a monumental leap.

Re: 9th Pick
What would people’s thoughts be if the Bears traded down again and took Kancey out of Pitt? For the same reasons that I like Van Ness, I dislike Kancey. While he has the tape, I don’t like how he projects to the next level. More interested in Adetomiwa Adebawore or Tuli Tuipulotu (have to put some ...

Re: Myles Murphy
Was just researching him also - he’s on my list at 9, but I saw some of the same lack of instincts as you did. His small hands are a mess and he’s slow off the snap … but once he moves, he has a really fast first couple of snaps. You can coach him up on those. Both Clemson DLs (Breese) are hard to f...

Re: 9th Pick
The great news is that the Bears have a ton of options at 9. If you want to root for a player - root for Will Levis to blow someone away at his Pro Day and he’s either taken in the Top 8 or sitting at 9 with an aggressive suitor who wants him. I’d love it to be Green Bay and they throw yet another s...

Re: Bears sign DT Andrew Billings
Billings was PFF's 16th ranked interior DLineman last years. Our ex-guy Tonga was like 13th. That was one of Poles' decisions I didn't really like - but accepted given the new regime's stated desire for certain types of players. Is Billings really that different than Tonga? Both are more run stuffe...

Re: Bengals OT Jonah Williams requests trade
The reason he wants to be traded is that he's in his 5th Year Option and wants to be a LT, not a RT or an OG.
With that in mind, I don't think he makes sense.
Plus he lead the league for LTs with 12 sacks given up.

Re: Bears release QB Trevor Siemian
I have no idea what Siemian did or didn't do that convinces you he isn't the guy you deliberately signed a year ago or what's so great about PJ Walker. But this isn't within spyglass distance of the top 20 issues facing the team, so I give it two shrugs up. Agree - it's a non-issue until Fields' an...

I think that was fairly obvious that this one was coming.
Siemian must have known also because he put his place in Chicago up for sale right after the season.

Re: Explain the Skoronski love to me please
Or maybe he will just never ever be a good practice player - but he's good in the games (If the Coaching staff can't deal with that - that is on the Coaching staff IMHO) I think that is taking their "must love football" mantra and making it literal. "If you truly love football, you w...

Re: Explain the Skoronski love to me please
I don't think he's a locker room killer - he's a young, immature kid who is looking for some reassurance/pat on the back from the FO/Coaching Staff. He's not really getting it from anyone, so he gets anxious and a) cops a bit of an attitude and b) says dumb stuff. I don't think anyone thinks he's a ...

Re: Poles press conference 3/16/2023
Regardless if you play Whitehair or Patrick at C, you should draft and groom one (unless they think it's Doug Kramer). I'm nervous that they might. Counting on a R6/7 you've never seen play a real game to do anything beyond ST isn't a good idea. But you never know... Agree - just SO MANY holes they...

Doesn't seem like a H.I.T.S. candidate - Poles has been very vocal about character and "loving football". The full body of work since the season ended have shown gaps in both of them. Hope the dude gets his shit straight - he's amazingly talented. Two many red flags - let him be a Raider.

Re: New theory
On cutting Whitehair, they don't need to do that to sign Brown. They may choose to as a veteran courtesy if he isn't in their plans. I think Poles knows more about Brown Jr than any other GM (short of the Chiefs) - if he doesn't make an effort to sign him (and so far have seen zero evidence of that)...

Re: Edmunds or Jones?
I don't sweat the Jones vs Edmunds issue for a couple of reasons - he's focused on adding great talent and Edmunds is a great talent. He legitimately is an athletic comp for Urlacher and seems custom built for this defense. By mid Also, the Jones deal structure was really, really hard to stomach. $...
