Re: Justin Fields Megathread - Steelers Edition
They keep talking about their rookie C like he's the next great C in Steelers long history of great C's. It makes me sick every time I hear it. As much as I love Caleb, I still think that we're in better shape had we: 1. Traded down for a haul and kept Justin as our QB 2. Targeted Verse and Frazier...

Re: Week 14 // Bears (4-8) @ 49ers (5-7)
Man I really want to get backing into believing in this team, but man it's hard. 49ers have been hit hard by the injury bug, I think they are on RB27, so hopefully this can be something positive. As much as I'd like higher picks, I want CW and crew to start tasting wins to build themselves up. Bears...

Re: Tankathon 2024
How much did Waldron play into the OL “debacle”? Seems like they’ve improved. Upgrades are needed at a couple spots but it’s not like they need 5 new starters. OL play is not a strong suit for he to grade or comment on. That being said I did see something a while back that Waldron changed the block...

Russ is cooking! Good line there in Pittsburgh, going to make it hard for a injury induced by a sack. What are the chances that if we go outside the organization that the new HC keeps Brown to be his OC?
If Brown performs like many think he will, I'd love to see him back.
Ben Johnson - HC
Thomas Brown - OC
Robert Saleh - DC

Re: Pass Rush
I'm anticipating at least 3 new starters on the OL next season. We need to shore up the middle AT MINIMUM. Which is why I don't have an issue with Ben Johnson "having one of the best OLs in football". Good, I'm glad he does, let's do it here! Everything else is in place (QB1, WR1, WR2, TE...

Re: Thomas Brown: Interim Head Coach
There’s a timeline in the universe where I believe Emery/Trestman could have succeeded if they hadn’t been saddled with an aging roster that hated them just because they weren’t Lovie Smith. I'm not sure anyone was going to succeed with Jay Cutler. Uber talented...miserable asshole. Provided no lea...

Re: Ryan Day Flops Again
Perhaps - another sign of societal decline. People don't settle their differences like they used to, have a fight then share a beer afterwards - now they just shoot each other. Just sad. But I'm 53 and I've made it this far, so I'll keep on the way I've been doing it. That's true. My first "in...

Re: Tankathon 2024
Rumblings that Poles has learned from his draft approach the past few years. This draft you might see him move away from BPA and go heavy in the trenches. I'll be surprised if the first three picks aren't on the OL and/or DL. I think 2 of them will be for sure (including our first round pick), but ...

I’m fine punching a guy in the mouth if he’s disrespectful to my wife or kid or something. Call me a bad person, don’t care. 🤷♂️ People need to shut their mouths sometimes or pay the price. I had no problem with the Cowboys housing TO when he did that on the star years ago. And the end game thing ...

Re: Thomas Brown: Interim Head Coach
For those who couldn't watch it live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRx365xCG2Q Said Eberflus offered him some advice that he wouldn't comment on. I wonder if he mentioned: Don't play soft coverage to let a team get into range for a Hail Mary, Use a timeout before a Hail Mary if you have players ...

Re: Thomas Brown: Interim Head Coach
Silly question, but do they rework his contract or does he stay with the pay he had?
Seems like it's the latter, the DC would now be making more than the HC.

Re: Offensive Line - What will it look like
I don’t have a preference so long as it’s OL or DL. Free agency will change our draft needs so I’m not really focused anywhere yet. I like wabs plan for the OL Same. I will say looking at the draft from 20000 feet and not getting very deep into, I think it may be OT or DL with the first. Don't thin...

Re: Pass Rush
O line absolutely has to be the first pick. This line needs upgrades for Caleb. The team invested in a franchise QB, now they must better protect that investment. They need an immediate starter with that first pick, and another immediate starter in free agency. They can get a potential starter at D...

Re: What about trading for Kyle Shanahan?
The fact that people are actively poo-pooing the thought of Kyle Shanahan as the Bears HC tells me that we do not actually know what an NFL HC is supposed to be as a fan base. Would I trade for him? Probably not, because It's a risky proposition. But would I hire him if he was let go? I'd make Thom...

Re: Jaquan Brisker placed on IR
Yeah this one seems a bit too far fetched for me. Would get someone/the team in trouble with the league and the union. I agree. Teams have been fined when not properly listing guys on the injury report. So I don't see that happening. Some team (maybe the 49ers) got a big fine when they didn't list ...

9-8 is still achievable Are you saying record or draft pick. If it's the former, you crazy. If it's the latter, not as crazy, but crazy still. We can get to 9 with Cinci and New Orleans each winning one more game than us (if just one does, we get to 10). But to get to but to get to 8 we need three ...

I suppose it’s old school mentality, but as a society overall I just think there’s too much disrespect without enough consequence. I don't disagree with that. But if player does something to disrespect the other team/game/whatever, that consequence can't be the guy who was disrespected punches them...

Well it appear he has ideas about who he'd like on his staff - Zac Taylor (assuming he's fired) and Robert Saleh I like how he is thinking about bringing in guys who have severed as coordinators and head coaches in the past. They have show to be competent coordinators in the past (but in all fairnes...

How many times did we watch Eberflus do the exact reverse, engineering a loss out of a victory. It’s just crazy. But Ihave to admit, it sure is suspiciously helpful to them. Even though I am Pretty sure the raiders would have botched it another way. No one can pull defeat from the jaws of victory l...

Re: What is with all this flag planting crap?
I agree that players need to have some class. I haven't watched all the videos from this past weekend, but I think some of it is fans running onto the field (the NCAA will fine those schools for that). The problem is players are people and they have feelings and emotions. The fans get in their face ...

The fight was justified IMO. Michigan needs to show some class there. That never happened under Harbaugh, even though he beat them 3 times straight. Michigan may have provoked the fight but don't know if "justified" is the word I"d use. That thing got way out of hand. When Ohio St. p...

I’ve taken a buddy’s 6.5 creed out to a mile. But that thing probably costs more than my truck. I got a couple I can stretch out to between 800-1000 on, for targets only. My 300 win mag will ring the gong ant 750 all day long if I do my part, it just sucks to shoot more than 25 rounds off the bench...

Hunting specifically for trophies isn’t something I’m interested in. Keeping a rack or having a beautiful bird mounted because you happened to harvest a great animal is different IMO. That's pretty much where I am as well. I don't get the African safari hunt to bring back "exotic" animals.

Re: Giant Idiots losing to Carolina
True. In some crazy world that we finish with 4 wins I think 4 is the best we can do. We likely will pick last of all teams with 4 wins. So we need that group of 3 win teams to somehow win 2 down the stretch.LacertineForest wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 8:18 am Going to be very hard to get pick 1.1, even if they end up with 4 wins.
