Re: My Guy for the 2024 Draft
I am officially out of the "My Guy" business. Last year, I was ALL IN on Adetomiwa Adebawore (AA). I even had some folks on the board swayed. I just KNEW he was going to come into the league and light it up. And if we didn't draft him high, we were gonna miss out. Dude got drafted in the ...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
Leaf had problems that went beyond just his ego. He had significant behavioral issues that the Chargers just flat out ignored. He also got legit fat right before the draft and blew off scheduled visits with the Colts. There were red flags all over the place, but there wasn't as much of a peek behin...

Re: Borom may be in jeopardy
There's going to have to be some wild stuff that happens for Alt to be there at 9. Like historically wild stuff. NE needs a tackle LAC needs a tackle TEN needs a tackle The argument could be made that NYG needs a tackle. It almost have to go like: 1 - QB 2 - QB 3 - QB 4 - QB 5 - WR 6 - WR 7 - WR 8 ...

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
I'm gonna be totally honest, I could live with a two-player draft if it's Williams and MHJ. You figure that AZ has their sights set on MHJ. Honestly they need a OT before they need a receiver, but I digress. The Giants would take Maye at 6 as a gift, the Vikings would trade up to 8 and take JJ McCa...

Re: Jer’zhan Newton
Agreed. I think DT should be one of the last positions that we need right now. We need a QB, DE, S, & WR. QB, I mean technically sure but the card with Caleb Williams name on it is already waiting at the podium to be called. Why safety? I'm pretty sure they are happy with Byard and Brisker. I'd...

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
I hope we hold strong at 4. Unless they have say 3-4 guys graded so closely and they are all available at #9, so trading down a few still gets you one of those guys. I just want quality, I have no interest in picking up any picks in Rounds 5-7 just for the sake of getting more picks. That's my take...

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
I still gotta chuckle about how fans want to keep drafting for defense because that's a Bears tradition. So pass on a more elite player at #9 so we can draft two or three more less elite players with a later 1st round pick and a couple day two picks. Quantity over top quality. We already know how t...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
I think many of us - me included - are predisposed to either loving or loathing Caleb. I personally have yet to read into anything he’s said that indicates he thinks he has nothing to learn - that he’s “already arrived.” Being confident and having lofty goals is what I want in a QB. Players like Ry...

Re: Borom may be in jeopardy
Seconds after Wright was drafted last year, Borom sent out a tweet saying "lol" (and then quickly deleted it ). He thinks he's starter material. He is probably alone in that regard. Check that, his gramma might think he is too. His mama does not. Posted this in another thread - If you are...

Re: My Guy for the 2024 Draft
His pro day was terrrrrrrible though. Oh no kidding, I didn't see that. Maybe that can push him to the 3rd round then? ;) Edit: Yeah I just searched and read an article covering the Packers that talked about Nubin's overall athletic score was so low that he may not even be on their board. That woul...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
The problem is I've got information overload right now. Alt is the one guy I think from a player standpoint is a greater talent prospect than anyone else we'd have a shot at. But I don't think he move the needle that much this year and I've been super happy with Jones - he's no Leno I want replaced...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I've been running this logic through my head and I'm not liking the answer I keep coming up with. WR just isn't making logical sense to me. We traded a 4th for Allen. We are taking CW at #1. Allen is a UFA after this season, and we aren't really in a position to think Super Bowl this year. So, a lo...

https://heavy.com/sports/chicago-bears/ol-larry-borom-trade-chip/ I didn't realize it, but Borom had enough snaps in his first 3 years to trigger the automatic pay escalators https://overthecap.com/proven-performance-escalator (He's the only one this year, but a truckload of Bears will hit it in 25...

Re: Bears v Cardinals, October 2006 on NFL Network right now
I've been pimping this game for years here, one of my favorites to rewatch. If you don't want to wait for it on the NFL channel you can get the whole game on yootoob. The last time I watched it was about two years ago when my dad visited me. We both groaned and cheered as if we were watching it for...

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
The draft is going a bit different than we think. Only 2 QBs go before our pick at 9. We trade back with N.O. and squeeze them to death and get a 2nd round pick this year and a 5th next year. (plus 1 this year and a 2025) With the 45th pick we trade back with Cin to 49 and get picks 149 and 194 (plu...

It might be Pick #8! https://x.com/NickOlsonNFL/status/1782387654421631431 Oh baby... please please please please please I just don't see the NFL making that happen so soon. 4 days before the draft you tell the Falcons they aren't having their pick at #8!?!? Sorry, still can't get on the Swift move. Too many disappointments when he played here for the Lions. Always hurt or had excuses. Didn't seem to give a damn. I hope he's changed and I'll root for him but not overly excited about the move. Not a Swifty in more ways than one, lol Speaking of Swifty h...

https://x.com/BillyM_91/status/1780949602646028592 There's that name again... Glad you brought that up because I was about to. Murphy seems to be rising on quite a few boards and if a top three WR isn't on the board at #9 he's probably a guy Poles and Flus should look at very seriously. He's pretty...

Re: My Guy for the 2024 Draft
So I didn't really have a guy that meets the definition of a "my guy" in this draft (later round guy you think can be special), but in reading some stuff I came across Bo Richter edge from Air Force. I think I really like this guy. I always want to see guys that go to the service program s...

Love it Hoog, I’m super excited also! Don’t sleep on Swift either, I think he was a sneaky big addition that will have a big impact on our offense. We are stacked, Poles has done an outstanding job. All we really need is for CW to be as good as advertised and we are going to be a very dangerous tea...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
With the draft almost here, people are coming up with all sorts of ideas to get clicks Bill Banrwell ESPN: Bears get 1/14, 2/45 and Edge Payton Turner (forgotten about him '21 first round pick who has missed all but 15 games with injuries) Saints get 1/9 and 3/75. Don't know enough about Turner to g...

Re: Jer’zhan Newton
Foot problems with large men are as scary as knee problems for WR/RBs. They are typically chronic I’m more nervous about Latu then Newton from an injury standpoint I think I am as well. But part of that is I think you have to get Latu about 12 and you can get Newton early 20s. So maybe willing to r...
