Re: Caleb Williams Mega-Thread
The Passing Game Coordinator didn't talk to the starting QB? Wow, just Wow.
It’s really not that unreasonable. It sounds like Browns main job was advanced scouting. He’d watch tape of upcoming opponents defense and identify what works or doesn’t work. He fed that info to Waldron to help ...

As exhibit 1, I present Ryan Pace. He did it for Mack (granted he was 2 years younger) and Mack was holding out due to a contract dispute. I haven't heard anything from Garrett's camp that part of why he wants out is more money. He's still going to get paid around $40M the next 2 years. It's a ...

Re: Running Backs - where do we go
Kiran may turn out to be a very good player, it’s impossible to say yet. My only problem with the pick was that he clearly needed a year in the NFL before he’d be ready to contribute, and we had didn’t have that luxury last year. With that debacle now behind us, let’s see what he can do. Thayer ...

Well then that folds into the trade comp considerations. No way am I giving up even just 1 first round pick if Inhave to turn around and pay him like 30M or something. I can’t see anyone doing that.

Re: 2025 Draft Sims
The more I play with these sims the more I love this draft for the Bears. There are guards, 3Ts, big DEs, and (now that @Moriarty coached me up) big RBs, everywhere.
It's a good draft overall and fits pretty well for us.
If you consider our biggest needs G, DT, C, DE, WR, HB
G: great

Re: Schefter: Myles Garrett Requests Trade
The Browns are idiots to not trade him IMO. That’s another team that needs a reboot and trading him would jump start that.
I think it comes down to what they can get and the cap situation. Bu t tend to agree. I just don't know how many teams would be willing to give up something akin to a Mack ...

For those of you across the pond....if Birmingham isn't a big travel, Black Sabbath have announced one final live show at their birthplace with the full original lineup: Ozzy, Iommi, Butler, AND BILL WARD! Yes, they are old AF, but goddammit I wish I could go to that. Bill Ward is one of my ...

Can Ozzy even talk? While I love me some Sabbath, I just wonder how well this will come off. I think the music will probably be fine, the Oz Man, not so sure.
He cannot talk, but he can sing. There was an SNL skit a while back (I think his wife was the host maybe) where Ozzie would try to say ...

It's a slow Super week, so I'll give something SB related and try to turn it around to the Bears.
I'll eat crow on Jalen Hurts as I didn't think he would be a good pro. Tagavailoa beat him out in Alabama. Hurts ended up as a late second round pick (#53). The four QB's picked in the first round ...

Re: The NFL and Ball Placement
It’s a fast paced “game of inches”, there’s too much missed to go without replay. That would be an absolute disaster. The games don’t need to be shortened either, that’s not a thing, they only play 17.
They need to expand replay and make more use of realtime corrections with the sky judge. They ...

Re: Coordinators: Dennis Allen DEF, Declan Doyle OFF, Richard Hightower ST
Loving the coaching staff.
As for the line, I expect the Bears will land Smith. Also on Dalman vs Shelton, Dalman is a better center. Talk of him being next to "one of the best guards in football" will be moot if the Bears land Smith first.
Smith will be a 1st wave FA signing and Dalman a 2nd ...

Re: Running Backs - where do we go
I would not be surprised if the Bears draft 2 RBs. However, none will be Jeanty.
I'd be extremely surprise if we drafted 2. I think one has about a 75% chance of happening. Mild surprise if we didn't draft 1, but huge surprise to me if we did 2. I think they will bring in an UDFA at that spot.

Re: Schefter: Myles Garrett Requests Trade
They could use it as a mechanism to tag and trade Smith though, as long as the trade happens.
They could but it would be a HUGE risk. And it would probably not be viewed favorably by agents or players to hamstring Smith like that. They are almost guaranteed to get a 3rd round comp pick for ...

Re: 2025 Draft Sims
One thing I've learned over the past few years is that when fans keep mocking the same guy in the 2nd round, that player inevitably is taken MUCH earlier than expected and is long gone before then. This years version of that is Jack Sawyer IMO. He will go in the 1st round.
The opposite occurs a ...

At this point, just get rid of all replay, eliminate the networks from replaying on tv and just go with the calls as they happen.
Eliminate 30-45 minutes of BS and there are no controversies because there is no replay to agonize over.
I"m actually kind of okay with getting rid of it all ...

Yeah, I don't believe height in and of itself is a detriment in pass protection for a RB. They aren't stonewalling dudes, just getting in the way to buy time.
I think it's more about overall size. The Cohens of the world are never going to excel at pass blocking but 5'9" and 200 plus a guy ...

I hear you, but as yet we don’t know if Trey Smith is going to hit FA. KC could also tag and trade, which changes the calculation again. And we don’t know if Trey Smith wants to come to Chicago.

FWIW - Matt Miller and Lance Zerlein’s latest mocks both have Chicago taking Kelvin Banks Jr with the 10th pick. In both cases Banks is the second OL drafted (Will Campbell going earlier).
Zierlein also has Mason Graham going with pick 11 to the 49ers. If that happened I'd imagine there will ...
