Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Personally I think he’s still in the mix. I’ve flip-flopped on this but I think Harbaugh is still on the list I'm still flopping around on it too, but why not hire Harbaugh if he agrees to a GM who is agreeable to George? Does Jim absolutely have to have full control over everything? Can't they agr...

Re: Bears to interview Bills OC Brian Daboll

Guys like Reid, Holmgren, and probably others have been successful in the past, so I don't think it's a major consideration. Could there be a credibility aspect related to demanding fitness from players when not demonstrated by leadership? There shouldn't be if the players are professionals, but if ...

Re: Chicago Bears fire HC Matt Nagy & GM Ryan Pace

I guess I just never would have expected him, if the articles are to be believed, to treat Mitch like that. Mitch was obviously trying his best and failing. It's not like Mitch didnt care or didnt try his best. It was always assumed he needed to be developed when he was drafted. Nagy was hired in p...

Um, I'd be ok w/ Flores as coach, but now way in hell do you give him control of the whole org. The guy's never won a thing.

Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Nobody really knows what, if anything, conversation, motives or otherwise to put on the Harbaugh situation. My read is that he's probably not going anywhere, but George assured us that money is no issue, and if every man has a price, then there's always a chance, however unlikely. I can understand i...

Re: Bears to interview Brian Flores

Watson is a really good QB, but before anything can happen you've got to know that (a.) he's settled his hand job/massage therapist issues and (b.) that the league isn't going to take any action against him in terms of a suspension.

Personally, I think I'd let another team take on that drama.

Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Are there "plenty of fish" though? I mean sure, there are lots of guys who will take the job, but in a given year, how many "good" coaching hires are there? If you're wanting a Belichick, Tomlin, Reid, long term hire, those guys don't actually come around too often. Even for coac...

Dang. 6x6!

SD, how has yall's duck season been?

It's just now getting cold enough to push some ducks down here from the midwest. I've killed exactly ONE merganser so far this year.

As a result, just been working with the pup more. She's a freaking nut on the water.

Re: Thru Hiking the AT

Before setting off on such an adventure, I'd recommend doing several multi day trips to kind of see if you even enjoy it and to get used to your gear. Boots broken in, a sleeping system you're comfortable with, a cooking system you like, you dont want to be figuring out you'd rather have a sleeping ...

Absolutely. Gilmour's voice can have a haunting effect at times. Very emotional too. His voice is something that stays in your head when you imagine the song in your mind which says something given the guitar. Unfortunately given the total ass that Roger Waters is, we got to hear less and less of G...

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

I used to think, until pretty recently, that most fans’ complaints about ownership, Ted Phillips, etc were overblown but my mind has changed. I didn’t fully understand that Ted decided to fire Angelo and that George just went along with it. I thought that was some kind of result of a power struggle ...

Re: Bears to interview Brian Flores

When it comes to hiring head coaches, the Bears tend to vacillate wildly from offensive guru who will finally modernize the offense back to defensive minded authoritarian types who will bring back “Bears football”.

Lovie - Trestman - Fox - Nagy … we’re due for another overcorrection. It’ll be Flores.

More I read about this guy, the more I like him. Oh he's not a kiss-ass? How well did all that "collaboration" of late treat us? I'm not overly impressed with a late season run (ala Nagy 2020) but he's not had much to work with and sounds like a leader to me. Like Harbaugh, I just want som...
