Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

If creating the best environment for Caleb to succeed is the dumbest thing he's ever done, we're doing pretty good. But he could have used that fourth rounder on a backup safety! I know I know, hopefully we'll somehow manage. Poles could have signed two quality veterans for the amount of money Alle...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

If Allen wants a 3 year, $75M deal with $48 guaranteed, do you do it? I'm not sure I do... Maybe. They could make that work, cap-wise. But...if Poles traded a fourth round pick for Allen, and extension details were not discussed thoroughly between Allen's camp and the Bears' brass--then the move to...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Im hearing from one of my sources , ( some guy on the radio whos name I cant remember ), he thinks the Patriots trade back to try and fill a bunch of holes and either rely on Brisset this year or trade back with thoughts of JJ and stacking picks. Either way....Thursday night is MUST SEE TV FOR ME! ...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

I think Fuaga would be an All-Pro guard next to Darnell Wright. I do not see him as a standout at T on either side, personally. Like most things, YMMV. Poles apparently loves him, if reports are to be believed. But I sincerely doubt he has him rated highly enough to boot his own draft day find of J...

Check the Trib Heinz. It was in something Biggs wrote. I don't have a subscription right now and won't until camp begins. And I wouldn't be all that positive they tag him either. Oh, I totally believe you...I just don't think Biggs knows what he's talking about. And, why don't you think they'd tag ...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

D J Moore's next contract will probably be worked out through an extension starting in 2025 that may or may not actually lower his cap hit that year. There's no way of telling yet or how much the deal will be for and what amount is guaranteed but it's probably safe to say it will be north of $25 mi...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

We have 2 #1 wide receivers for 1 year. Receivers take more than 1 year to develop. If you draft a guy it's to pair with Caleb long term. It has nothing do with this season or having 3 #1s this year. Hell, if that guy works out he replaces Moore in 2 years. That's not a dumb move its forward thinki...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

Meanwhile we're at #9 and this fanbase (and this board) is like "let's draft Verse because he's a good run-stopping edge" or "we need an elite OT3 because injuries happen and braxton jones loses against bull rushes". Like we can't believe that there's a way to win other than 12-...

I just disagree on the merits of sitting a rookie qb. It worked for Mahomes. It worked for Rodgers. It worked for Love. It USED to be the norm, and as a recent convert to this thinking it’s something Infelt we should have done. Ship has sailed on that obviously. But removing JF1 entirely from the c...

Re: Yogi da Bear's Picnic Basket (2024)

He actually has a pretty good bull rush. https://youtu.be/EHcnvMbPPZg?t=85 His real problem is anchoring against the run against somebody like Fuaga. I agree though that he needs to work more squats. He has to be able to drop his hips when he's attacked that like. He is SUCH a good player...but all...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

There's been some tug of war here about Braxton and it's interesting to see him atleast acknowledge that OT isnt off the table at pick 9. I think there is just so much value there that they can't rule it out. I do think that Jones has done a fine job, but he may never be top-tier. Alt or Fuaga prob...

I don't know what other NFL teams considered him, but he was certainly a reach amongst the pundits. Nearly every single mock draft I looked at had him going in the fourth round. For example, even draft buzz had him in the fourth, below even Pickens. None had him above Round 3. Here's draft buzz's e...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

I think there is a chance that one of MHJ (crazy to be saying that now, and he is the least likely to be there at 9 IMO), Nabers, Odunze or Turner will be there. If one is there I thinks that the pick (although as other have pointed out Verse is built more like the players Poles prefers so he could...

Why would a DE at 9 be a starter? What's happening to Walker? He will be starting at DE even if they draft someone If they're able to draft Turner or Verse...no, Walker would most likely NOT be the starter. It's feasible the transfer might not take place until a few weeks into the season...but I'd ...

Re: Bears Big Board at current slots

If he's still deserving of a top dollar deal it's more likely it will be a four year deal so his signing bonus can be stretched out but all of his guaranteed money will end in this third season at age 31. His fourth season at age 32 then becomes a Bears option as to whether or not to keep him or re...

Yeah--especially at a position like that one. #9 is WAY too high for Thomas.
