Re: The 2024 Draft

FWIW IMHO Despite him being a left hander, which I hate in QBs, I thought that Penix was the second best QB in this draft. Now, it may only be because he kicked my Ducks' ass twice, but in those games, he was incredibly impressive. His accuracy was off the charts. He was pretty spectacular against ...

Re: Fields to return kicks for Pittsburgh?

i think it's really just an attempt at complimenting him that is extremely, unintentionally a huge slap in the face. Well, I don't think we can be too sure of that, can we? Fields is kind of a crazy, mix-it-up type of quarterback, which is, partly, why a lot of us liked him. Hell, it could have bee...

Re: Nattering Negative Numnut

A truly great quarterback can solve a lot of your football team's problems. And while he'll be a rookie--expect a lot more excitement than shaking your head. That being said...it's very troubling that the defense is still a work in progress, even after the draft. And this would also be true even wit...

Re: Yes, a 2025 Dane Brugler Mock

I'm waiting to see how Poles engineers another trade with them for that #1, picking their pocket at the same time. I know some GMs say the best draft is one in which each side wins but you have to admit it's been fascinating to see how the trade for the 2023 #1 pick has laid the foundation for futu...

Re: Yes, a 2025 Dane Brugler Mock

I was just talking to someone (Yogi?) who recommended him and I said I was in, but didn't see him lasting to our pick. Could easily trade up, using one of the second rounders. Lots of flexibility next year. Poles could even trade down (not drafting Walker then, obviously), and things could get real...

Re: What about 2025???

Trading away draft picks for expensive veterans has its limits. Getting into cap difficulty for a short-term fix is bad business and Poles is looking for sustained success. This year's draft was considered to lack depth due to NIL It's possible, but going forward I'd be surprised if Poles makes any...

Re: The 2024 Draft

Everybody gets excessively hopeful about late round picks for some reason. I think the people here making Maxx Crosby comparisons should be a tad embarrassed. It really comes down to me not seeing a need to trade up. So we traded a fourth round pick for this guy? Didn't we just get Keenan Allen for...

Looked it up--Kiper wasn't all that enthused about the Amegadjie, Taylor, OR Booker picks.

Hell, he gave Poles a "B" because of those picks--taking difference with Poles' choices, there.

I give Poles a "B" BECAUSE of those picks...I love all three of them. Weird.

Side note: I think Gervon Dexter gets even scarier. This will most certainly happen. I'm calling it now. I don't think most folks really appreciate just how good he was in the games he excelled in. Merging some of the rando draft related threads. Thank you. It was getting sort of confusing. DJ Moore will be just 29 in 2026 so I believe that if he's healthy and productive Poles will look to extend him for another 3-4 years during the 2025 season. These two expiring deals is one reason why draf...
