Re: Bears New Stadium Nonsense Repository
It really feels like when the McCaskey's bought that land, to build a stadium. AH thought they won the Lottery and started planning how to spend all that revenue, before they even got paid. No wonder the Bears are looking elsewhere. If I was the McCaskey's I would turn it into a giant ugly fully aut...

I picked middle 12 as I feel it will take a year to get this offense going full speed. Rookie QB, new OC and new weapons.

Re: Bears New Stadium Nonsense Repository
I still think Arlington Heights is the best solution for the Bears. The Lakefront is such a pain in the ass to get into and out of. I got no dog in this fight because I go to Chicago about once every 15 years or so. So I do not really care. Game looks the same on my TV no matter where they play. Tho...

Re: Justin Fields traded to Pittsburgh for conditional pick
Thank goodness this is over. Good luck Justin. Ryan Pace did you no favors and probably ruined your career. Pittsburgh is a good place for him as Wilson is washed. JF1 will be starting sooner than most think. Wilson is cheap enough to cut too. This trade makes Justin yet another bust for Pace. What ...

Oh and for the record the greatest Sherlock Holmes is without question Jeremy Brett. If you haven't seen the series starring him I strongly recommend checking it out. Two different actors played Watson, David Burke up to The Final Problem and the showdown with Moriarty at the Reichenbach Falls afte...

Man this topic got derailed quickly.
Question on the original topic.
How many Ed Block award winners were cut from the team, within one to two years of winning this award?

Nate Tice's newest mock has Bears taking Caleb at 1 and then trading back up into top 3 to grab MHJ. 3rd post-combine mock to have Bears making big trade up to grab one of the top3 WR's. With what??? This is some lazy, crappy mocking. This was my thought exactly when I first read Tice's mock. Move ...

Re: Bears sign CB Jaylon Johnson to 4yr, $76m extension
I'm skeptically OK with this. JJ only started causing turnovers in the contract year. But hey! At least this deal got done unlike Roquan's. I am okay with this deal, I guess. $19M for a half a turnover a year, if resorts to his previous play level, is too much. Having an Agent tends to make these t...

Re: Loosest of speculation: Bears may push to sign RB Saquon Barkley
Over the last 4 years, David Montgomery has put up better numbers than Barkley. Poles lost out on keeping Monty for $6.5m per year and he wound up rushing for a thousand yards at a career high 4.6 yard a carry and scoring 13 TDs in 14 games. That's now the benchmark for me. If Poles signs a running...

Re: Update: Bears use franchise tag on CB Jaylon Johnson
The Franchise Tag is the answer when the player wants more money than the Tag amount by large margin. JJ wanting to reset the CB market almost guaranteed he was going to get tagged. Especially after having only 2 picks to his career and then having a season that may just be an anomaly. Let him show ...

Re: JF1 + Caleb options are exceptional opportunity?
Fields costs $6mm in 2024. If teams believe the Bears will just release him, if they wait, then keep him. Make this known when the time gets closer to the draft. Poles needs to disabuse those teams that think they can scoop up Justin as a FA or Waiver-wire pick-up. Pole does need to be realistic on ...

Re: Bears trade 5th rd pick to Bills for OL Ryan Bates
At worst he is a younger Cody Whitehair. Good interior depth, and possible starting Center. Why not? With they way Tevin keeps getting nicked up and last years FA meh pick up at RG, this is a decent insurance move. Never certain is a 5th rounder is going to even make the PS, much less the roster.

Re: Roster Moves: Bears release Eddie Jackson, Cody Whitehair
Whitehair was a good team player. Did what was asked and never grumbled about anything. Good luck Cody in your next step, but I do think his football days are over. Eddie was flashy and a hard player, until he got paid and became a businessman. I do not hate on ex-Bears, but glad to see this guy lea...

Re: Free Talk // Open bar, we're not turning the lights off
Didn’t notice anything weird at all. Just two great defenses going toe to toe, and per usual Mahomes winning at the end. SF should have gone for it in OT, I’d never have kicked that FG. I, and the rest of the world, knew what would happen next. Bad decision by Shannahan for sure with Mahommes sitti...

Re: Draft Season is Already Upon Us
As far as this off season goes. I am good with Poles taking Caleb number 1 over all, if he and the staff are sure that is the way to go. I am but a fan, what do I know. Just hope he is not a bust, or gets destroyed by the weak ass team around him. Oline, WR, TE and holes on the defense. I am also go...

I figured the Chefs would beat the Ravens. Mahommes is gonna Mahommes.
I had the Lions over the 9ers. I was really rooting for them. But, Detroit gonna Detroit. They had a great run though. I actually hoped they would win it all, leaving only the Vikes as the only Old Maids in the Division.

Not against the rules, but I fully expect some teams to fire off the snap the next time the Saints go into the Victory formation. Also not against the rule. per say, but not sportsmanlike either. I am fine with letting Eddie go. He has not played up to his contract. He is more about pushing an opponent out of bounds than just tackling the same. Seems to be all about making business decisions versus just playing football.

Re: Update: Jaylon Johnson not traded
I’d franchise tag him (maybe tag and trade) if he insists on a ridiculous market setting mega deal, that’s just not our playbook for roster building. A mini mistake by Poles here, a lot of us thought we should have extended him before the season started and he was not asking to be a top paid corner...
