Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

Like I posted to Heinz it was in something Biggs wrote. Check out his columns in the Trib. I don't have a subscription right now. Let's look at it from a common sense point of view. Allen refused to take a pay cut in SD. Allen gets traded. We have him for one year at $23 mil but given his age is th...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

According to Brad Biggs Ryan Poles has already offered an extension to Keenan Allen which he declined so far preferring to test FA next spring. So there's a very good chance he may be one and done in Chicago. If that's the case we'll need to replace him as early as 2025 and we have that opportunity...

Re: 30 Visits

Jared Verse now confirmed for a visit. So basically, the Bears have had all 4 of the top DEs (Turner, Verse, Latu, Robinson,) all 3 of the top WRs (MHJ, Nabers, Odunze,) 3 top Centers (JPJ, Barton, Frazier) and a few others in for the 30 visits. Again, not a single DT prospect. Seems odd. Smokescre...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

I've thought about that, my "concern" is that any team will ask for the Carolina pick, which could be a high 2nd. I'd rather not use future picks right now unless there is an elite player available. Caleb Williams Jared Verse WR OL That's a fine draft in my world I’d do it if we could get...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

One thing that keeps popping up we seldom discuss is the possibility of using 2025 pick(s) to add another Day Two 2024 pick. I'd like to think that Poles has put that in the hopper as well so if a player he has a 1st round grade on drops to where he feels he can make a trade and get him I'd love to...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

The question becomes though, why is Verse the same age as Latu? Latu missed two years of football because of that retirement. What's Verse's excuse? Verse played 4 years of college ball…Again, he was slotted potentially as a top 5 pick if he came out last year..he decided to go back and work on his...

Not saying that he will end up in the HOF or anything, but Verse gives off some DeMarcus Ware vibes.
If Verse can learn to bend better / become more flexible (especially in his hips) he would be a monster.

Re: Draft Prospects: WR

Question for the draftniks: I’m thinking our plan right now is CW and Turner at 1 and 9. Our next pick is at 75 I think? Who are the WRs that are possibly available in that range? I like Pearsall but only because I’m surrounded by Gator fans telling me he’s awesome. Is he even going to be there? Wh...

I like him and Worthy, they both need some polish but have tantalizing upside.

Break him down for us if you've got the time. I used to be all about size and catching radius but lately I've found myself falling in love with elite footwork/route running, understanding how to make every route look the same and using tempo to throttle in and out of breaks to confuse defenders. Yeah, I think the disconnect is people who watch football vs people who look at a spreadsheet? I watched a couple of Washington games this year specifically to watch Penix, and came away, well before the Odunze hype train was in full swing, just falling in love with the guy. He's just so obviously ...

Interesting that some of you don't like Odunze when all of the scouting reports and coaching intel and opinions call him elite. Of the three top WR it's Nabers who actually graded the highest post Combine probably because of his speed and YAC ability. Then came MHJr and Odunze but there not much to...

I cannot get on board with Rome at 9, when I watch the tape I see a drastic difference between MHJ/Nabors and Rome. If both WRs are gone, I really don’t know who’s tops on my board. As of right now, it might be Verse. I'm glad you said something, he looks good to me but I'm not sure I see 'top 10 p...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

There are so many different fucking ways #9 can go, it makes my head hurt: If MHJ is available at #5 we could ostensibly trade up to get him Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze could "fall" to #9 and we take them Dallas Turner could be available We could trade back a bit if we truly love Byron Mur...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

Getting your franchise QB and WR1 in the first 10 picks, and on rookie contracts, is outstanding. Putting that rookie in a WR room with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen is, in my opinion, elite. It would be - but its a lot of eggs in that particular basket too. Allen turns 32 before the season starts and ...

Probably 75 and next year's 2nd and 4th.

It would essentially make this a two pick draft.
