They have been throwing darts at edge rushers since Suggs retired and haven't really hit on many.

Ask me again in like... October and maybe I'll have changed my tune on Loveland. I'd like for him to be able to participate in camp first though.

Sanborn, Benedet, Wheeler... Kromah and Carl Jones might have a shot at the team this season. Austin Reed might stick after Bagent is gone.

I watched that video and man he looks thin.
He's not Cole Kmet buddy, you're going to have to digest this at some point ... kid is 6056, 248 lbs and a perfect fit for today's NFL TE.

Ya'll are going to like him more once TC begins. This dude has toughness like Monty, MJD, or Payton, and while he is slow, he has some amazing ...

Re: R2 P39: Luther Burden III, WR - Mizzou
Burden is the one player the Bears took in this draft that should be considered under drafted.
Burden came into the 2024 season considered a first-round pick. His 2024 season wasn't as impressive as his 2023 season (which was stellar), but he's the same prospect he was coming into the season ...

Johnson said today that there is no depth chart. Every player has to earn his spot. I like it if it is true.
Eh, it's coach speak. There absolutely is a depth chart. There may be certain positions that are more open than others but:
Caleb Williams is at the top of the depth chart
Jaylon Johnson ...

Re: R6 P195: Luke Newman, IOL - MSU
They gave Bill Murray a pretty good chunk of change. Bates can be let go with no cap hit though.
I'm assuming Bates/Murray/Newman stick as depth behind those top 7 (with Bates probably more on the bubble than the others).

He's too small to replace Sanborn as SAM. I think he's a WILL only and probably just a ST as everyone has said. I know Poles likes his RAS picks but 4th feels a round early for this type of player. I get it that the RB board didn't fall the way they wanted but I think there needs to be a better ...

I tried working a draft without the trades and the board really didn't fall good for us (although I could have gotten Landon Jackson at 72 since that's where he was taken by Buffalo). So here's what I came up with (I at first passed on Ollie Gordon and took Miles Frazier OG from LSU but then ...

Turner is very similar in size to Cam Jordan (and Lamarr Houston before him). So I could definitely see him being moved around.

Going back and looking at every LB that Dennis Allen has coached... and this dude is most definitely an outlier. So is the other LB they picked up...Echols. Exactly the same size just a terrible athlete.
I don't get it, but whatever. We will see.

Re: R6 P195: Luke Newman, IOL - MSU
I am thinking this pick may be the end of the Ryan Bates era with the Bears. Guy got hurt and never go a chance to show if Poles was right to trade for him or not. I am now wondering if the Bears kept Bates on the roster as a favor to keep him to let him rehab completely before releasing him ...

A 7th round RB "can" come in and contribute at a high level, but it shouldn't be expected.
Travis Homer was a 6th round pick. Is anyone super excited about the possibility of him being RB1 in case someone goes down?

Re: General statement about fan based team building
I wonder what would have happened in 2023 in a QB was at the Top of our Board and we didn't want that QB.
You mean like that time we traded Bryce Young for DJ Moore, Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stephenson, Caleb Williams, Tory Taylor, and Luther Burden III?
The idea that a team following a BPA ...
