Some local Dallas guys are speculating that the Niners are trying to package Brandon Aiyuk plus their 1st and 2nd round picks to move up to 9 so they can take one of the top tackles.
I don't know if there's legs to it, but it's at least a rumor on Dallas sports radio.

Re: Jer’zhan Newton
I really want the Texas monster in the 3rd now (some even have him slipping to 4th) He can't give you 80% of the snaps ......50% is absolutely pushing it But he can give you dominant snaps Absolutely perfect guy for a rotation What's interesting about T. Sweat is that he's like 6'5 345lbs, and yet ...

I like Marshawn Kneeland, but he sorta just reminds me of a little bit lighter Walker.

Re: Bears sign Ian Cunningham to Extension
As others have pointed out, this is a good business move by the Bears. They know he's getting a GM gig soon, so this extension ensures that they receive comp picks.

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
Leaf had problems that went beyond just his ego. He had significant behavioral issues that the Chargers just flat out ignored. He also got legit fat right before the draft and blew off scheduled visits with the Colts. There were red flags all over the place, but there wasn't as much of a peek behind...

Re: Jer’zhan Newton
Outside of QB, my "need" ranking is: Pass Rusher (preferably off the edge) WR OL (doesn't matter if it's T/G/C, but preferably IOL) 3rd TE LB I don't have S or Corner on my list for 2024. DT specifically is pretty low too. They have Dexter/Pickens/Billings/Walker/Cowart. And there's still ...

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
I'm gonna be totally honest, I could live with a two-player draft if it's Williams and MHJ.

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
Defense isn't completely irrelevant just because the Bears are drafting Caleb Williams. Especially when the Bears have done an excellent job in surrounding Williams with established veterans. Alt absolutely will not be there. MHJ absolutely will not be there. Nabers probably will not be there. Odun...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
Unless Williams is just completely full of it, like to a pathological level, I think that Poles and Co would have been able to sus out if he's not coachable by now.

Re: Borom may be in jeopardy
I was absolutely convinced that I was the best outside linebacker on my college football team. Hands down.
But what had happened was...I really wasn't. I was 3rd string and ended up getting moved to tight end and even spent part of a season as a very undersized offensive tackle.

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
I'm predicting 7 I personally would steer for even more. People have been repeating "this is a bad draft at the bottom". I think that's overblown. I can find TONS of R4-5 players I would LOVE to have on the roster. Less so in 6/7, but R6/7 is always a longshot. And even there, the Bears d...

Re: Borom may be in jeopardy
There's going to have to be some wild stuff that happens for Alt to be there at 9. Like historically wild stuff. NE needs a tackle LAC needs a tackle TEN needs a tackle The argument could be made that NYG needs a tackle. It almost have to go like: 1 - QB 2 - QB 3 - QB 4 - QB 5 - WR 6 - WR 7 - WR 8 -...

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
I still gotta chuckle about how fans want to keep drafting for defense because that's a Bears tradition. So pass on a more elite player at #9 so we can draft two or three more less elite players with a later 1st round pick and a couple day two picks. Quantity over top quality. We already know how t...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
It's just so funny to me that RG3 believes the Bears are going to ruin Williams' career, so he's pushing for Williams to take a firm stance so that he can end up with the team that ruined HIS own career.

Re: Tampering Cases May Be Decided Before the Draft
Wasn't that what caused the Falcons problems in the first place. :D  I was going for a play on Days of Thunder plus incorporating a little Ryan PACE I just watched that movie on Sunday for the first time in probably 15 years. It's such a great movie. Sometimes when my wife and I are trying to ...

Re: My Guy for the 2024 Draft
I know he's probably too early for a late round "my guy", but I would really like to see Minnesota Safety Tyler Nubin in a Bears uniform. I think he's a fantastic center fielder Free Safety type, and could take over for Byard. Always loved his ball skills. Problem is he's probably going i...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I could be completely wrong, but I just feel like this Murphy-to-the-Bears talk is a lot of nonsense. Murphy isn't even close to what the Bears look for in a 3T. This isn't Lovie Smith's Bears. It's clickbait. No reasonable person would believe that the Bears are taking a DT at #9. It's Edge, WR, o...

Re: Tampering Cases May Be Decided Before the Draft
I'm hoping for the "drop ATL to 32" scenario because it helps the Bears so much. I wouldn't mind if they lost the #8 pick all together.

Re: WAB Mock Draft
If we're not trading back, I'm going to assume either Fashanu or Turner are still there. They would be hard to pass up. You also have 8 OT's going in the first round, which would be an NFL Draft record. Not saying it's not possible. So much talent at that position this year. Overall though, if we c...

Re: Borom may be in jeopardy
He could offer to tear up the contract and take a pay cut / Poles could ask him to take a pay cut if they really wanted to make it work. I just don't think either side is interested and I wonder if he has a future somewhere else as a Guard My guess is that he's claimed by Atlanta. Pace (even though...

I think Verse will be fine and fills a need but I am really turned off by the lack of improvement between 2022 and 2023. He just seems like a 6-8 sack a year DE2 to me and that's not what I want from my #9 pick. In this scenario, assuming nobody wants to trade back, I think I'd rather get Murphy be...

Re: 2024 Draft - How Many Picks?
Poles is going to trade back several slots. I'm guessing between picks 15-20. I'm gonna say that the Steelers trade up from 20 to 9, and pick Rome Odunze before the Jets can get him. They give up #20, #51, #98 plus a 2025 3rd round pick. Lucky for the Bears, there's a run on OT's between picks 10 a...

Re: Tampering Cases May Be Decided Before the Draft
Adam Schefter is reporting that the tampering case against the Falcons may he decided before the draft. He doesn't think any decision will involve the loss of a draft pick, especially a 1st rounder. However, he believes it possible that the Falcons draft pick will be moved from 8 to the end of the ...
