Re: Some last minute fill ins for the roster

Well the offseason roster limit is 90. Not counting the recent UDFA additions, the Bears have 73 players on the roster (including futures contract guys).

So they are going to have to fill out the roster for camp, but I would imagine the final 3rd TE comes via waver wire during camp cuts.

I was like 5 when the Bears last won the super bowl, so yeah...I'd like to be able to root for a team that is relevant in this century.

No one is saying Booker is Maxx Crosby 2.0. At best people are calling him Great Value Brand Maxx Crosby. Or Maxx Crosby Lite.

Those aren't quite the same thing.

Re: R4 P122: Tory Taylor, P - Iowa

He has a big leg, but his ability to place the ball is what is most enticing to me. Rugby/Aussie Rules guys know how to put English on the ball and can make it bounce how they want. When you can pin a team inside the 5 it’s damn near a turnover as teams typically just try and create a little room f...

Re: 2024 Draft: Is This Our Greatest Draft Ever?

1983 was pretty darned good... Jimbo Covert Willie Gault Mike Richardson Dave Duerson Tom Thayer Richard Dent Mark Bortz And none of those players also involved paying an exorbitant salary which come along with Sweat and Allen. The payroll for the entire 1983 team was probably less than the $23 mil...

I also think 2025 is going to be a pretty meat and potatoes draft for the Bears. DT, LB, OG, FS...maybe a late WR. Those are the positions I see needing filled next year.

Re: The 2024 Draft

Jenkins is my favorite current Bear by a large margin. I love isolating his play. But I too think he's on the way out. And I don't even think it's because of injuries. He hasn't had a back problem since he started taking Pilates (hear that DP ;)). We have Braxton's contract coming due in two years ...

Re: R3 P75: Kiran Amegadjie, OT - Yale

I also think you could slide Braxton inside for 2025 and have him play RG when the Bears cut Davis' ass for another year of futility. What if our starting OL in 2025 was; Amegadjie - Jenkins - Shelton - Jones - Wright I don't know if Jones can play OG, but if he can then I'd keep him on the left an...

He’s got over 700 highly graded snaps at guard. So yeah. yeah, but also every time an OT enters Halas Hall you mention here that he's probably a guard, so you know, boy who cried wolf kinda thing. I gotta take TMP's side here. I mean I really only did that with Leno. I did openly wonder once if Bor...

Re: So, how do we address our last hole on the team?

The better prospect is always the better pick, all things being equal. It’s not like the Bears couldn’t use a WR. So, if Daniels had slipped to #9, and was the highest ranked player on the Bears board, they should have drafted him? Moore and Allen were already the best one-two WR punch in the leagu...

Re: So, how do we address our last hole on the team?

Eh, only one QB can play at a time. Odunze was a better pick than any DE on the board. And there's only one ball in the air at the time, too. Odunze, on balance, is a better prospect than Turner and Verse--I'll give you that. Doesn't mean he's the best pick. The better prospect is always the better...

Re: So, how do we address our last hole on the team?

Drafting for need has mostly led the Bears two decades of futility. That's a rather large oversimplification. And does it even answer my question? Let's say Daniels dropped to #9, and was the highest rated player on the Bears' board. Do they draft him? BPA at #9, when there are holes on your team, ...
