Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

there is some buzz regarding teams like Jacksonville, Buffalo and Kansas City, which currently pick in the second half of the opening round, which are reportedly working the phones hard to try and move to get a top WR I floated the idea of trading down with Buffalo a while back, but everyone seemed...

Re: New Bears numbers, so far

Yeah, I think Allen is a one-year rental. Trade a 4th, get a solid year out of him and let him walk for a higher comp pick. I concur that Allen is a one-off. He won't be worth more than a 5th round comp pick, though, because he's a ten-year veteran and that's where those max out. Players who have t...

Re: Different trade scenario

why this absurd fascination with the WR position? the Bears have DJ Moore & Keenan Allen and whoever is the QB will only have so many throws a game to share the ball with the WR's, TE's and RB's if they want to get WR help in later rounds, fine ... but to use the #9 pick on a WR would be absolu...

Re: I think we Bears fans are traumatized

One of Odunze or Turner will be there at 9. Take whichever is there and it’s a win. Barring a team hopping up to 7, I think that's probably the case. The biggest difference in the 3rd WR vs the 3rd DE is that the 3rd DE is going to see more opportunities than the 3rd WR. If you have them graded equ...

Re: Different trade scenario

WR isn't an immediate need IMO. Next year they will absolutely need one if Allen walks and Scott does nothing. I can see taking one at 9 if the value is there (Odunze/Nabors). That's why the 9th pick is so interesting. They very well could need an offensive lineman next year. They could need a WR. T...

Re: New Bears numbers, so far

Given that they haven't given 13 to Allen yet, I think they will be holding it for CW. Plus the more I think about it, I think the plan is to let Allen walk at year's end. They traded a 4th round pick for him to give CW a stud duo at WR to help him get ready for the NFL. He's far more valuable to C...

RIP the player on the field. The guy... not so much. I had just gone to a sports card show, traded for an OJ Simpson rookie card. It was worth a TON at the time. Came home all excited about it, and my dad just pointed at the TV and said "probably won't be able to wipe your ass with that in the...

Re: Offensive Line thoughts

I think he played hurt a lot more than we maybe realized... I do think he's never been right since the knee injury last year. But even before that, his career was a downward diagonal from instantly stellar to very good to decent to toast. Yeah, I mean I just think he took his starting streak really...

Although didn't Whitehair come in as a rookie and immediately play center, a position he'd never played before. Seems, also, that he did much better that rookie year than he did last year. Just saying.... He sure did. Very impressive stuff, and to Moriarty's point his decline was strange to see. He...

I think everyone is done with Borom but where are people on JT Carter? Is a he a worthwhile project or a target for replacement? I think he's definitely on thin ice. He's not beyond hope yet, but he finally got some snaps last year and wasn't that good. Maybe he needs 1 more year and some more work...

If the Bears can't land Nabors or Odunze at 9, I'm leaning towards a small trade back and picking Adonai Mitchell. I get big CeeDee Lamb vibes from that dude. I like him and Worthy, they both need some polish but have tantalizing upside. Worthy is one of those dudes that could either go in the top ...

I don't see Turner's size as a problem really. He measured in at 6'2 247. I see a lot of Leonard Floyd concerns out there, but Floyd was an inch taller and 10 pounds lighter - he had a VERY slight frame. Turner seems more solidly built and will put on weight in the pro's naturally from age + contin...

And you don't give up your prior starting QB, one with the potential of Justin Fields who is only making 6 mill for the season, for a future fourth round pick, let alone a sixth. I will die on this hill. Bears were in a unique situation with Justin and the first pick of the draft. You don't simply ...

Probably 75 and next year's 2nd and 4th.

It would essentially make this a two pick draft.

Am I the only one who think Bates starts at center? I don't think Poles tried to sign him a year or two ago and then traded for him to have him be a back up. BJones, Jenkins, Bates, Davis, Wright. If he is playing like a top QB and in the hunt, that’s good enough for me. Not me. Saying we don't want a Daniel Jones contract is easy and obviously correct. But what about Justin Herbert? Or Dak Prescott? Those are anchors that are holding those teams back, and while the QBs are good they aren't ...

Atlanta could take a WR too. It's not like London and Mooney have set the world on fire (and I've always liked Mooney).
