Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

I actually agree with G08, I don’t see anything special. I think he’s going to be a good player, but I don’t see the twitch that a player of his size needs.

Honestly, I think Newton is better

Trading up to Chargers might be too rich, but what about Giants and for Nabors?

Re: Jer’zhan Newton

Great input..started watching and reading some stuff on him.

I’ve seen a lot of drafts having him go after 25…I see a much better player on tape. Aaron Donald, no. That said, he could be a poor man’s Donald and I’d be happy with that. Especially when you factor in what we can get in a trade down.

Jer’zhan Newton

I saw he had his pro day yesterday and Bears were in attendance. From the outside looking in, he looks like a perfect fit for our defense. 6-2, 300lbs of solid muscle, crazy twitch and explosion. That said, I have not really watched much on him. From the mocks I’ve seen, I’m seeing him go late 1, th...

I went back and looked and Verse was considered a lock to go top 10 and in some cases, top 7. Top 5…probably not lol

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?

I like verse a lot, more so than Latu because he hasn’t medically retired from football recently. Plus I think you can trade down into the 12-15 range, get an extra bite or two, and still get him. The question becomes though, why is Verse the same age as Latu? Latu missed two years of football beca...

Welcome to the Verse bandwagon…

If Poles is sitting there and think Turner has the mental makeup to hit his potential, I’m on board. That said, I feel like Verses floor is pretty high.

I like kicking Walker inside on passing downs…Walker provided nice leadership and depth across the entire line..Glad we have have. One guy we can’t overlook is Pickens…Everyone is talking about Dexters jump but I’m expecting Pickens to rise to a potential starter over the next couple years. One thin...

Verse is 23, when he turns 24 other rookies will be 22..It matters, but how much might be exaggerated.

Also, look at his 2022 tape. If he came out last year he probably would have been a top 5 pick. Drafting him now, could be viewed as him being even more prepared to start and contribute immediately

I don’t hate Rome but I don’t see a guy that could one day be a top 5 WR. IMO, there’s Nabors and MHJ then everyone else. I think Rome, Conky, and others are getting overvalued in large part, because of the depth at WR in this years draft.

Don’t be shocked if really good WRs are on the board into the late 3rd …Pearsal, Conkey, and maybe even Coleman

I don’t think we would have to trade up with the Chargers…it would be the giants at 6 which would cost slightly less lol That said, if MHJ drops to Giants, can they pass on him. It’s a joke And people did actual post photos of Fields shirtless thinking Abs is what makes QBs. Latu is never going to "look" the part (and is always gonna struggle in the run game when you come right at him) - so what? His hand usage is elite. There is some T Suggs to his game IMHO So ...

No, but look at the guy. He doesn’t have the most impressive physique. Most of my draft ideas have been (as of late) trading down from #9 to get Latu - So fully on board there. (Ill ignore the Fields stuff) Definitely conservative on the trade down value Hate the Rice pick - I think his game is extremely limited - My best comp for him was ESB - I think if his last nam...

Agreed on Turner..I see flashes where he reminds me of Suggs but then I see a red flag with his instincts Love Verse but is he special or good I don’t know about Latu…love his pass rush moves but I think once OTs get their hands on him he’s gonna be toast at the next level Nabors or Harrison for me..

Josh Allen
Pat Mahomes
Joe Burrow..

That’s it…you take Caleb because you think he can be in the discussion with these names.

I like the top 4…. That said, I’d bet my small life savings that Chargers go OT at 5… That puts Bears in stinking distance to trade up from 9 to 6 and I could absolutely see Poles doing it. Really? That seems off. They just cut/traded their top two WR - and the draft is shaping up where they might ...

Trade down for Verse, Chop, Latu, or Newton.

I have to say, I haven’t seen much on Newton but the little I’ve seen, good god does he play a violent brand of football.
