Re: So if you were the Bears next GM..

Oh god please not Mike Williams. Please no. I'm not worried about Godwin's knee. Modern medicine. But that insane money for the top guys is why I like Pringle and Wilson. I think either of those guys would be the best WR the Bears have had in a long time. I like Schuster too - but figuring he'll cos...

Re: So if you were the Bears next GM..

If you believe that JF1 is a generational talent (I do)... then you should also feel comfortable with the idea of him elevating the WR's he does have to work with. In his first year as the prepped starter I think that is asking a lot. In a few years? Maybe. I think Burrow is a generational talent. ...

Re: JF1 Big Time Throws

There is really nothing notable that JF1 has to work on I mean... he has a considerable amount of things to work on. Timing, anticipation, pocket awareness, ball security. you can't just yell "It's the OL and the coach!" and absolve JF1 needing to work on things that he absolutely needs t...

Re: Top 3 Highlights of the Nagy Regime

1. The trick red zone TD plays in '18 were sweet. 2a. The Cowboys game in '19 that was really Nagy and Mitch's one and only signature win against a genuinely good winning team (even though the 'Boys were ridiculously bad on the road vs home). 2b. The Tampa game last year. 3. Nagy 2.0 is amazing on p...

Re: Chicago Bears fire HC Matt Nagy & GM Ryan Pace

I gave up on Mitch during the Saints game that year. I laughed as he made a few stats in garbage time - "garbage time stats and garbage bum-beatings for a garbage QB". I admit I was rough on him because IMO his performances where rough - brutal and truly embarrassing, and he was the small-...

Re: JF1 Big Time Throws

News flash: There is no sack problem. It's bad math. For the last 3/4 of the season he averaged < 3 sacks per game which is not just normal but extremely normal for a mobile QB. Don't expect JF1's sacks to go down much at all from there. The one thing he needs to do is learn and not take the 15 yard...

Re: Delerious Excitement over Fields

Controversy creates clicks and that creates revenue. Lambert deliberately parses quotes looking for controversy to expand upon and generate attention. It may sound weird but no matter how much I love JF1 and hope (expect!) him to be the top QB that leads the Bears to the next dynasty ... if a truly ...

Re: Who do you like in the playoffs

I forgot about Stafford when I said I was rooting for the Chefs. My ideal scenario is Rams vs Chiefs or Bills bowl and really enjoying the game and not caring who wins because I'm happy either way. I'm going to be the biggest Niner fan ever this weekend. I hope Deebo eats them alive. He's quite the ...

Re: So if you were the Bears next GM..

WR is a concern, the Bears are going to have to draft 2 guys at that position. The team was done a great disservice by Newsome, Graham, and Jenkins not getting enough playing time for meaningful evaluation despite the ship already having foundered and sinking fast. The defensive scheme of the new D...

Re: So if you were the Bears next GM..

I believe that if you give Fields time in a professional offensive scheme he can make do with average receivers. For a while. And this is not going to be a one year rebuild. Find the five (probably 6 or 7) guys that can protect Fields and give the running game some more consistency and the offense ...

Re: So if you were the Bears next GM..

Priority (in order): WR, WR, Safety, ILB, CB, Swing OT, C I don't see how WR isn't the top priority on everyone's list. Without a top pick they may get lucky and have a good one drop to the 2nd rounder. But most likely it will need to be two FAs to join Mooney. Dazz, Grant and maybe Adams. Put it th...

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

I think Graham is a pretty lights out candidate that not a lot of people talk about. I was really happy to see his name added to the list. IE is pretty spot on with the Tomlin comp. Desai could stay on too given that Graham's defense matches up pretty well with what the Bears already do. He's got a...

Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Ditka was Ditka - and his halo basically burned off a long time ago. I can't see Ditka being a reason Harbaugh would not want Chicago. If anything, a competitive guy like Harbaugh would want to come in and exceed Ditka's performance. I personally think where a guy started playing as a starting QB is...

Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Uber competitive people aren’t really wired that way though. Very true. It is possible the Raiders launched the GM to make themselves more attractive to Harbaugh (like the Bears). There has really got to be 100% certainty that back-channel discussions were had with Harbaugh or his representatives (...

I like Burrow but I kind of wanted the Raiders to win and thought they would. They're scrappy. I really like Carr and Renfro. Oh well.

Chiefs are my team now. I also like the Bills so if they come away the winner they're my team. Bills fans sort of deserve a ring, I think.

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

I don't really care *that* much about who the HC is, as long as he brings an unquestioned "identity" to the Bears overall and particularly on offense. I want the OC to bring a scheme that values the running game & uses it creatively. I'm just in awe of KC's inside run/pass game in the ...

Caldwell's decision-making in Detroit set a bar that Nagy barely beat. No thanks on Caldwell. With all the innovative minds out there, I'd be highly disappointed if they went that direction. If you want a failed coach who is actually good, he just finished as OC in NE.

Basically everyone played like shit under Nagy. Personally I like the idea of Daniels or Whitehair penciled in at C even less than Mustipher. Also let's not forget Bars, who is kinda decent.
