Re: So if you were the Bears next GM..

Priority (in order): WR, WR, Safety, ILB, CB, Swing OT, C I don't see how WR isn't the top priority on everyone's list. Without a top pick they may get lucky and have a good one drop to the 2nd rounder. But most likely it will need to be two FAs to join Mooney. Dazz, Grant and maybe Adams. Put it th...

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

I think Graham is a pretty lights out candidate that not a lot of people talk about. I was really happy to see his name added to the list. IE is pretty spot on with the Tomlin comp. Desai could stay on too given that Graham's defense matches up pretty well with what the Bears already do. He's got a...

That crappy Edwards came back and they went away from riding Connor. Huge mistake. They had some WR issues but I think it is as simple as that.

Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Ditka was Ditka - and his halo basically burned off a long time ago. I can't see Ditka being a reason Harbaugh would not want Chicago. If anything, a competitive guy like Harbaugh would want to come in and exceed Ditka's performance. I personally think where a guy started playing as a starting QB is...

Re: A LOT of smoke about Harbaugh…

Uber competitive people aren’t really wired that way though. Very true. It is possible the Raiders launched the GM to make themselves more attractive to Harbaugh (like the Bears). There has really got to be 100% certainty that back-channel discussions were had with Harbaugh or his representatives (...

Re: Who do you like in the playoffs

I like Burrow but I kind of wanted the Raiders to win and thought they would. They're scrappy. I really like Carr and Renfro. Oh well.

Chiefs are my team now. I also like the Bills so if they come away the winner they're my team. Bills fans sort of deserve a ring, I think.

Good question. I think I'd pass unless a strong GM came in first and selected him after due diligence.

Re: General Manager/Head Coach Interview Discussion

I don't really care *that* much about who the HC is, as long as he brings an unquestioned "identity" to the Bears overall and particularly on offense. I want the OC to bring a scheme that values the running game & uses it creatively. I'm just in awe of KC's inside run/pass game in the ...

Re: Bears to interview Brian Flores

Caldwell's decision-making in Detroit set a bar that Nagy barely beat. No thanks on Caldwell. With all the innovative minds out there, I'd be highly disappointed if they went that direction. If you want a failed coach who is actually good, he just finished as OC in NE.

Re: 2022 Salary Cap Outlook, v2 (PostPace)

Basically everyone played like shit under Nagy. Personally I like the idea of Daniels or Whitehair penciled in at C even less than Mustipher. Also let's not forget Bars, who is kinda decent. I don't see any picks other than low-rounders on OL and predict they bringing a few journeymen as contingenci...

Re: GM Candidate: Rick Smith, former Texans GM

I don't get this. I want to win & the Texans haven't won anything ever. Hitting on a handful of first rounders over several years should be minimum qualification for someone who's actually made picks. But coming from a winning program/background has to be a core requirement. I want a GM from a ...

Re: 2022 Salary Cap Outlook, v2 (PostPace)

Is it just me, or are there other people who sort of think that the next generation Oline is mostly on board? At most a Center away? I have hopes that's (partially) true, but it's based on a small sample size for the pieces in question, and presupposes both that 1) the blocks in place are as qualit...

Re: 2022 Salary Cap Outlook, v2 (PostPace)

Your cap room is the best way to judge the talent you can acquire. The Bears really need to bring in talent on offense, especially at WR which is an expensive position. The Bears are not in a bad situation this year but there needs to be an adjustment from the money spent on defense to offense so t...

They're not going to interview Harbaugh? Or do they not have to report interviews with college coaches? Or, are they prioritizing coaches on playoff teams first so they can fit them in before playoffs start? I was not sure either... I found this article from 2019... Not sure the rule still applies ...

God, I hate that season-long QBR stat for Fields. Especially because they're so bad only because of really 1 or 2 games. The Jags pummeled the Pack this season. And the Bears beat the Bengals. Those are ALSO reality of the season - but me saying that isn't helpful, informative or particularly honest maybe if I'm using that as a basis for a point.

Lies, damn lies, and statistics.
