Re: Nobody cares about Corners, but...

Because Poles didn't fill all the DL holes (don't know if realistically could have), it seems like it's more of a need in the draft. 3T, DE along with RT. One of those 3 picks at 54, 61, and 64 might see a CB. But, of course, Poles knows a bit better than me what he thinks would benefit the team so...

Nobody cares about Corners, but...

I can't believe when I looked there isn't even a thread about CBs for this draft. I know there are other needs, but with the way Gordon has been criticized and considering JJ is up for contract renewal after this season and Kindle Vildor is CB2, it doesn't even seem to be a BPA conversation - it is ...

Re: Jalen Carter at 9, what say you?

lol, I'm not really a big fan of the guy I just want another competent body available as I don't have any faith at all in DomRob or Gipson and I don't want Poles to be forced to draft a guy higher than he should based on need. My ever shifting thoughts on what we should do at 9 now lean towards the...

Re: DL Reconstruction…so far

Saw something earlier that may tie in to the reconstruction of the DL relating to Gibson. he had 7 sacks 2 years ago playing more while standing up. They moved him to DE and it clearly didn't go well. I had pretty high hopes for it working out as he mostly played with his hand down at Tulsa. Poles ...

Re: Exposing the Forty Fallacy

I like the NFL replays that show the top speed of the ball carriers. Someone hit 22 mph last year Tyreek Hill hit 23 mph in two separate years Didn’t Fields do that? EDIT: I thought he did hit 22 mph - but he was more in the 21 range a few times. He has incredible acceleration and also long sustain...

Oh - I definitely remember him provoking those Bears, and those morons falling for it. I hated him for it too. Asshole? Maybe. Smart? Yes. So the criticism here is that he is chirpy and provacative. So what if he's a little "extra". Sounds like a defensive leader to me. Sounds like how Mi...

Re: CJ Gardner-Johnson still available

This dude is a Grade A A-Hole. I'm not sorry he's not on the Bears, but don't want to seem him twice a year either. Bears WRs have shown a complete lack of composure around this guy - probably ended the career of both Wims and Miller in Chicago. (I mean ... they kind of ended it with their play, bu...

Re: DL Reconstruction…so far

Taking Double A first is starting to grow on me. At 9? I don't know - if he is going to be as good as people seem to think, then why not? Why not get that 5th year for a stud DT? The Bears only have one first rounder - so if they're taking someone at 9 I can rationalize it. Trading down and risking ...

Re: CJ Gardner-Johnson still available

I personally thought bringing him in as full-time nickel and backup safety on a 4 year deal would have been a good long term answer even with Gordon sort of penciled in a nickel. I think Gordon could move to the outside and provide them with a ton of flexibility in addition to being a guy that bring...

The Bears already have two guys who can do that in 200 carries. So they're not going to use them regularly? I know BR is a stud but the opportunity costs are too great. I'm skeptical about the RBs we do have, but I respect the counter argument that the 9 on an RB is goofy. I'm just saying I see the...

Imagine giving JF1 a legit RB who can get 1,000 yards + per season and be a consistent threat to break off long runs. It opens up the whole offense. Yep. that's the same deal, swapping DJ with a '25 first rounder. The '23 Raider picks are a bit higher, but I see this as quite a bit of extra value from Carolina.

I don’t believe there’s a snowball’s chance in hell the Bears drat Kancey, especially in the first round. Damn I loved Mike Brown. He's one of my all-time favorite Bears.. he and Peanut are tops with me. Eddie came roaring back into all-time Bear talk relevance this past season for sure. I DO think he was robbed a time or two over those two "dry" years where his INTs and TDs went to zero. It s...

We can't pretend the draft isn't happening, or that the Bears don't have EIGHT picks in the first 5 rounds - within the first 150 picks. I mean, we can act like that isn't real... but it is. Poles has a wealth of draft picks in a deep draft that is loaded with DL and good OL prospects where the Bear...

Re: Bears to sign LB Tremaine Edmunds to 4yr, $72m deal

Flip those posiitons. Edmunds = Urlacher. Edmunds even refers to himself as a MLB and is the best cover LB in the league. I'll be shocked if he does't play that role in Chicago. TJ isn't a sideline-to-sideline LB either. He's a tackling machine built for the T2 WILL role. I am not sure how that wor...

I LOVE THIS SIGNING. The way, we use the 4-3 the off-linebacker is just as important as the pass-rushing DT. At least statistically it is proven. Think about it Shaq Leonard played that position when Eub was there. Edmunds is bigger, faster, and way more talented. Dude! He is going to get some defe...

Billings was PFF's 16th ranked interior DLineman last years. Our ex-guy Tonga was like 13th. That was one of Poles' decisions I didn't really like - but accepted given the new regime's stated desire for certain types of players. Is Billings really that different than Tonga? I will always contend wingspan is a more correlative metric to success in offensive linemen then arm length. That said wingspan nor arm length doesn't negate several other physical attributes let alone mental abilities. I do strongly agree that mental abilities are huge. Especially when you're deal...
