Re: Week 14 // Chicago Bears (4-8) @ Green Bay Packers (9-3)

The Green Bay Packers have more COVID-19 issues at the QB position. The team announced Monday that it placed backup quarterback Jordan Love on the reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for COVID. Love is fully vaccinated and must now isolate, but is eligible to rejoin the team if he remains ...

Re: Pats v Bills

IF that wasn't McDaniels sending his resume to Chicago, I don't know what was. It was glorious. I'm not a Pats fan but credit where credit is due - that was exceptional coaching, strategizing and coordinating. They schooled the Bills. You'll never hear Josh McDaniel say he wasn't brought in to run t...

I like the cut of your jib, Az. My prediction: Nagy/Lazor play monkey-see; monkey-do after NE once again demonstrates it can do whatever it wants (and will) to win in that brilliant game plan against the Bills. Bears come in with JF1 the surprise starter, and run the ball 45 times. Monty and Herbert...

Re: Will the Lions be first to go 0-17?

I like Dan Quinn. I think he's a lot like Harbaugh - a real rah rah type. It is needed in Detroit. People here are giving him a chance. Yeah - people around here are pretty freaked out about Oxford. It's an upper-middle class school that is pretty competitive in sports. Everyone around here knows or...

It does. I think the Lions have another one in them - like this coming weekend. Was your bet profitable? No because I took the damn under. I had a 4 team parlay with the Cards giving 9 and that over. If the I took the Lions over it would have been about 260. Oh well... I should know better - U/O ar...

Re: Week 13 // Chicago Bears (4-7) vs. Arizona Cardinals (9-2)

4 INT - tipped balls or not - is bad and sad... but I can't help but see a pattern here under Nagy's leadership. Over half of JF1's INTs are tipped. It is scheme and coaching. Nobody is open and if they are it seems like they're not to be noticed within the offense that Nagy considers his baby &...

I sort of agree with you both. I agree with you, Boris, that Nagy's offense and tactics are just not really teaching JF1 anything at all. So from a "learning an NFL offense" standpoint he'll be starting from scratch in the spring. But I also agree with Plank that despite the horrible offe...

Granted - it is the jets. But 11-12 for 166 and 2 TDs in the first half is pretty decent for a QB nobody wants.

Just my hunch re: McDaniels and a QB like Fields... I see his success with Tom Brady, him actually getting a fair amount of production from Kyle Orton, and their prioritizing of Mac Jones. While the skill levels (obviously) vary, there's a similarity among these QBs - particularly Brady and (clearl...

Re: Week 13 // Chicago Bears (4-7) vs. Arizona Cardinals (9-2)

The Bear offense can kind of back into 17 I think... either a Shannyball approach with Monty and Juice and the TEs or desperate shots to Mooney. The Cards will turn it over at least once and that will help. But this hobbled Bear D is easily going to give up 35 ish to the Cards even if Murray is out....

I think there is general agreement with hindsight that it was a huge mistake to send Leno packing and keep Graham. The cost is close to a wash. It was initially defend-able with expectation that Jenkins could at least hold his own at LT and be a big upgrade in the run game even if he struggled a bi...

I'd be excited about McDaniels, if he was gettable. I'd be a bit more excited about Sean Payton. But either one would be a very positive thing for the development of an actual NFL offense in Chicago.

It was clear to me that Tarik even way before camp that shouldn't be expected to be playing this season. From what we've seen of him as a head coach responsible for overall team preparedness, strategy and coordination and game management, it seems like he really had no material experience coming in. Yeah, but McDaniels is also a sneaky/shady dude. He is a great offensive mind. Look at how he's developed Mac Jones. But after the way he shafted Indy, I wouldn't want to see that type of guy coaching the Bears. I understand the Indy thing. He clearly did what he thought was best for him. Per this ...

Daniels is still only 24. He's put on like 35lbs since being drafted and looks like he's really starting to develop into something. I'd hate to let him walk, but yes, guards are pretty easy to replace. If we could just wave a magic wand, I'd transfer Whitehair's money to Daniels and let Whitehair w...
