Re: 2024 Draft: Is This Our Greatest Draft Ever?
The way I see it is this; 1st; Williams 1st; Odunze 2nd; Sweat 3rd; Amengadjie 4th; Allen 4th; Taylor 5th; Bates 5th; Booker If the pundits are willing to take all of this into consideration it's an A+ draft and then some. Show me one other team that added this much talent using their allotted pick...

Re: R4 P122: Tory Taylor, P - Iowa
It's hard for me to accept drafting a punter, especially after drafting one a couple seasons ago.
But I'll trust you all that he's worth it.
Welcome to the Bears, Tory Taylor!

I guess it's ok they didn't draft offense here. Welcome to the Bears Austin Booker, he who I know nothing about.

I wanted oline or a TE, so I'm very happy with this pick. Being a Bears fan just makes me like him even more.

Re: R1 P1: Caleb Williams, QB - USC
I would love for the Bears to get an edge rusher at 75, but I’m so happy right now I don’t even care. Sign a veteran or two and go all in on a better dline class next year. Go TE or online at 75. We need backup linemen to develop and a TE to replace Everett as soon as next year. Finish the job buil...

Welcome to the new era of Bears football my friends. For the couple of you upset (one of you, Heinz D. ?) you'll adjust, I promise. You've been force fed defense for your whole lives, you don't realize how delicious the cuisines made by Chef Caleb and company are going to taste. Welcome to a team se...

Re: Smoke Season: Post Your Best (or Worse) Pre-Draft Rumors
NFLN is saying that Jayden Daniles' three-day visit with the Commanders did not been go well at all, to the point that Daniels has said he would like to play for a different team. Maybe there really is some fire under the rumor that they have alternatively been considering McCarthy... Allegedly, Da...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
Asked whom the Bears should draft ninth, Williams first named Penn State tackle Olu Fashanu, his former high school teammate who would “put his life on the line protecting me ,” and then settled on one of the top three receivers. “Whoever’s there at 9,” Williams said. If alt and the wrs are gone, I...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
Happy Caleb Williams day everyone!!! The moment we all lived a lifetime for is here. The Bears are selecting a nearly unanimous elite prospect at QB for the first time ever. Is this really happening? Sure. The Bears absolutely could screw this up. But that's a worry for our future selves. Today is a...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
I agree that MHJr is the best bet of the bunch. WR3 in this draft, not so much. Until he is drafted by someone else, I'm living the dream. Stranger things have happened on draft day. I know you are on the Dline train. If the improbable happens and they walk out of this draft with Williams and MHJ, ...

Re: Is It Too Soon For Thoughts On Pick #9?
That's an old and broken platitude you want to use to counter a term that means something different than you're trying to make it. It's not a literal term and not reality when seen this way. The odds of a failure due to lack of talent are far lower with top picks who are not QB. You are always gonn...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread
You know we need the draft to be here when we are comparing a kid with no behind the scenes issues, just oddness, to the trainwreck that was Ryan Leaf. Caleb is like the other guy from that draft. Did you watch his interview on the Pivot? If you didn't you should its really worth a watch. This kid h...

Re: Jer’zhan Newton
I just don't see Newton happening with picking Dexter last year and we need a DE2. Agreed. I think DT should be one of the last positions that we need right now. We need a QB, DE, S, & WR. QB, I mean technically sure but the card with Caleb Williams name on it is already waiting at the podium t...

If you have an hour, I’d highly recommend watching this Caleb interview on the Pivot … with Fred Taylor, Channing Crowder and Ryan Clark. https://youtu.be/JsczrmkO-Yc?si=ACUvlVW2bIeR6eBX Really get a good sense of his leadership style, personality - how he reacted to the Fields trade, etc. He’s got...

I am really pumped for this season, probably higher on this team then the second year of Nagy, lol. Hope the results are better. I have a good feeling that Dexter and Pickens are going to shine this year, especially if we get a DE opposite of Sweat. Also love having Moore, Allen, Kmet for CW to tru...

I can't believe someone named their kid General Booty. That's like a bad porn name. Yikes
I hope Bloodsaw is a tight end or rush linebacker. Or maybe a strong safety. That would be fitting.
Storm Duck sounds like Darkwing Ducks long lost partner

Since next years #1 is basically a 2nd with it being #32, id do it in a heartbeat.thunderspirit wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:16 am Moving up to #5 is going to cost next year's #1 and #3, and maybe another pick.
I wouldn't be thrilled with moving up, even for MHJ.
Id be beyond shocked if Poles did it despite how happy I would be.

It's no more than one guys take on it but it's not an impossible situation to pull off. If Poles wants it to happen and SD is willing to trade for a 2025 pick or picks it's not like it could never happen. I would wonder why SD needing to replace it's two best WR would want to make that trade to beg...

I dream every night of MHJ in a Bears uniform.
Caleb and MHJ can break Peyton and MHs records.
I think it's a wonderful idea. I'd give up even more than the 2nd next year to get MHJ.

Re: Different trade scenario
Passing on a WR at 1.9 would be alot more palatable if they had a 2nd round pick.
I guess it's a good problem that we are sitting here like, wtf we are only getting a difference maker at QB and either WR or DE this draft instead of all 3.
