Re: Crazy idea... Trade Whitehair next year

Fire Rivera is another one. Oh yeah Lovie did that and hired his buddy. He wasn't fired. His contract was up. Technically. But Rivera obviously should have been back, wanted to be back, and would have been back except for one little thing - Lovie knew how popular he was and felt threatened by it an...

the in-game decision making is sort of stupid and backwards Literally EVERY fan base is complaining about the exact same thing right now. There are callers blaming McCarthy for Green Bays woes. Pittsburgh fans have complained about Tomlin's game management ad nauseam. Here in Chicago we think Fox i...

He's been LP with a toe injury (turf toe?) this week.

Could be a blessing if he sits and Adams is healthy.
(Or could go from bad to worse if Adams isn't)

Re: Schefter hints Bears may not keep Fox is season is disas

I don't think Fox deserves that. However, it might be good in an indirect way. If Fox got 'fired by ownership' and then Pace got to hire another coach, presumably that would buy more time for a lengthier rebuild, which is what's necessary. What I don't want to see is Fox & Pace go into yr 3 both...

Re: Biggs: Bobby Massie needs to pick up his game

I questioned how this guy got a fat three year contract from us but I chalked it up to "the coaches saw something in him that they like and he fits their scheme". Plus he was recruited by Long. Turns out the coaches don't know how to evaluate talent and now whatever QB is back there is at...

Re: How do you "fix" the QB position?

My concern is the lack of weapons any QB will have next year. Looking at White and Langford... they're not good enough. If we trade and pay a fortune for a QB, we won't be able to also add weapons and build depth on defense. We need need need a good draft or two before it's worth making Vikings-sty...

I would do more but I have to get back to work :frustrated: Well, that and there just isn't much young talent :) Long - Good. Totally agreed about shutting him down. It infuriates me how often staffs (esp ours) can't think past the next game and sacrifice the future over lost cause seasons. Whiteha...

Re: 2016 Reasons for Optimism thread

With Porter, Hall, and Glen playing so well......do we strike up the Fuller to safety talk again? Yeah, I think later in the season (when DB is more healthy and you're more officially eliminated from the playoffs) you have to try him there for a few games. You need to know where he's best and wheth...

Agreed.

But the QB is harder to find, so it needs to be top priority in my book.

If you get 2 good OTs first, you may not be drafting high enough to get a good QB anymore.

I don't see Jeffery leaving, actually. I think in spite of everything he'll return. Unless he tears his knee up during the course of the year, knock on all available wood. If I'm Pace, I want to work out a deal soon. We're going to have a lot of cap space, and we need quality players on the roster....

I don't get all this talk of abandoning the team, but to each their own. This quote from UOK kind of congealed all the thoughts I have been having about this franchise ever since the Texans loss. I'm not abandoning this team, but I also don't think I have that undying optimism in this franchise. Wh...

I've tried to do my part. I haven't bought a Bears item in many years. I don't own a jersey of a single player who is still on the roster. I don't support them financially. Why would they need to cut a guy to do that when Houston just went to season ending IR?

I'm going to guess that they elevate Barkley and Swamp Thing (to fill in for Goldman), so they need 2 spots.

Re: Houston tears ACL, out for season

Unfortunate about Houston

I really see Alshon leaving getting less and less likely every day.
This team is so utterly bereft of star talent, I can't see them letting the guy who could arguably be the best player on their team walk with nothing in return (other than cap space).

I don't think Hoyer is a known quantity after only 2 seasons as a starter with 2 different teams. However, 31 and only 2 years younger than Cutler isn't ideal. He'll probably be just good enough to keep the team from getting the draft pick they need. Barkley does nothing for me as a talent - but he ...

We need to start stockpiling draft picks. However that is possible, it needs to be done. I want a top three pick in 2017, with a couple of 2nd's and a couple of 3rd's. A total of 10-12 picks. Release Jay after the end of the year. Dump Payroll. Sign a couple of impact, "been there, plays the g...
