Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

While you're of course right about the deterministic aspect, Caleb is absolutely a 1.1 guy. If he wasn't behind Caleb, Maye almost certainly would be as well. And Caleb is certainly on the high end of those 1.1s hisorically. You might be right, but there's no "absolutely" or "certain...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

Some things can be unassailably true, and still unimportant. The odds on QB at 1.1 strike me as one of those. Within certain conditions, you can't argue with the numbers: if you want a good QB, and you want to know where to choose him, 1.1 is statistically your best bet. No argument there. It just i...

Yeah, the shift in tone made the season finale of Fargo feel like a series finale. I didn't mind it all that much, but it teally was a bit of somewhat rushed wrapping-ip.

Yeah, looks like due diligence to me. His tenure at Arizona was bizarre: I've never seen clock mismanagement like that, and he almost seemed to be coaching different games than the ones his team was playing.

PFN. What’s infinitely more likely is that our franchise has sucked from the top down and has created an environment that’s very difficult to succeed in. For the first time since the 80s, I feel like our franchise is operating as a professional group. McCaskeys are out of the decision tree. Warren and P...

Has anybody watched much Steelers football this year? 'Cuz I haven't....and they seem to have adopted a REALLY WEIRD offense? I mean..some of these formations are NUTS! They ditched their extraordinarily Getsy-ish OC mid-season and elevated their RB coach. That's when the season turned aroun...

Yep, good stuff. And heck, this means we was beaten by the best this year: if Buffalo takes care of Pittsburgh tomorrow, the NFC North will be the only division with two teams left.

Interesting mock draft I just saw: Chicago trades #1 to Washington for #2, #36 and #40 Caleb Williams goes #1 We draft Marvin Harrison, Jr. #2 We draft Jared Verse #9 No future first round picks, but we get #36 and #40 this year to address iOL/Move-TE/RB/DB etc. Thoughts? Re: Bears fire OC Luke Getsy, QB coach Andrew Jonoko

I think Flus forces a conservative mindset on offense. He doesn’t call plays but that impacts the play caller. I don't agree there, he has been adamant about wanting explosives and mentioned not having enough of them during the 2023 post-mortem presser. He wants to see deep shots, he's on the recor...

Re: What will Poles do QB draft (Your opinion)

I get the sense that Getsy is the scapegoat here (and please don't misunderstand, I'm not saying he's good, there's not much way to know) in that I think he had to completely reign in the offense he wanted to run to play toward this "200" criteria. I frankly think he almost completely avo...

Places I trust in their estimates have him around 6'2 1/2 and 215. We obviously won't know for sure until the Combine, but I'm comfortable going with that until then. He's smooth and has excellent hand technique. He makes contested catches very well, though I suspect that's due in part because he d...

Ah, the old new HC before hiring a GM. Often blows up in a team's face.
Might just be confirmation that the GM will effectively report to Mayo, just as a series of them did to Belichick.

There's a lot to like about Odunze's game--I was a fan last year before he returned to UDub--but I doubt that he's nearly all of 6'3", and he plays smaller than his actual height. He's very good, but he's not a terrifically stark complement to Moore.

I don't see how he has any inherent advantage with insider knowledge. If the picks were flipped, sure. Even if Poles was 100% sold on trading the pick now, what's Ian going to do with that knowledge? He won't know what offers Poles has on the table from other teams. Nothing that would preclude othe...

It'll be fascinating to see how Bagent addresses the offseason. His mechanics seem to be made entirely for short and intermediate stuff--when he tried to throw, say, 40 yards, it still looked to me like he was throwing a 15-yard route, just harder and higher. There's room for improvement. Tom Brady ...

Didn't see Carroll getting the axe, so I didn't even consider Waldron. From what I've seen (and I see Lumen Field every day when I walk the dog), he's a very very friendly OC for a defensive-minded head coach. There's that. He's gotten the most out of a pretty dismal offensive line and nondescript R...

Nearly every team in the league can ask the same question about the last three years in light of Brock Purdy. That doesn't make it a constructive question. Might as well just throw darts at a wall for every decision then, including whether to keep Fields or not. Nothing matters. You put it more art...
