Re: Poles on not addressing EDGE in draft: "Can't fix it at a high level in one swoop."

Generally, it's fine to say "we can't fix everything in one year. We want to have the right guys." But - At DE, you currently have: 2 vets with mild upside, who are on 1 yr deals, and could both very easily not return next year (like nearly all of the same type of guys they brought in las...

geez, that guy was going in the second round in alot of mocks. bummer we didn;t sign him If Carter makes the Vikings as a practice squad player we could grab him because we had a worse record last year right? Unless Congress intervenes, I believe he has to honor his three year commitment to the arm...

Mel is good. Anyone who's done it as long as him will have plenty of misses and hits to cherry pick. The best in the business are usually "right" about half the time. I don’t think his evaluations are that good, and he staked his professional reputation on Jimmy Clausen and claimed he’d q...

Re: Poles: "Feel good" about Whitehair/Lucas at center (for right now)

I wasn't too interested in "center only" guys in the draft. If they went IOL I really do think they needed a guy with G versatility which cut out a lot of the smaller, less lengthy guys. Especially by day 3. Whitehair/Patrick is *okay*. There's little upside, but hopefully not big downsid...

Re: Bears 2023 OL appears nearly set

Center is going to be the big problem just like it was last year with Ghost starting. Whitehair has been tanking all last season, he is done. Patrick can’t stay fit for a full set of downs. Center is going to get Fields hurt …….again. Don’t agree. Greg Gabriel was very dismissive of the idea of the...

The late run on EDGE players in the first and then so many going early in the second kind of killed it. I think they would have been reaching for guys everywhere else.

For all the talks about Carter. None of us nor is anybody in the media actually in the room with him evaluating him. Poles sniffed around him and caught a whiff of something he didn’t like. Re: R1 P10: Darnell Wright, OT - Tennessee

This noise about his character and laziness better be addressed. He gave up zero sacks in the SEC last year, no sacks for 14 straight games. And he shut down the #3 pick in this draft. I don’t know about the character and laziness stuff but on tape this is a guy who is still blocking guys from his ...

Didn’t Kmet just have his most productive season in terms of touchdowns last year? People were calling for Kmet to be replaced in this draft at the beginning of the season and are now expecting him to be extended, so that conjecture doesn’t make sense to me.

The concerns about Carter's effort and motor seem to be getting louder. I've heard a number of pundits talk about it in the last week or so including Matt Waldman and David Kaplin when I've listened to parts of TTNL's 'Keep it 100' shows. Any concerns about playing less than 400 snaps a season were...

It looks like he’s only got 32 3/4 arms. Under 33 almost always means interior offensive lineman for NFL teams.

I think they're definitely to probably correct on 1-3, 5 4 is the only one I question. It probably won't happen, because the odds of taking any 1 specific player at a place like 20ish is virtually always < 50%. But I'm unconvinced they are particularly down on him. Billingsly, for example, doesn't ...

This is turning out to be a frustrating draft to try and figure out what we are going to do. I can poke holes and find flaws in every prospect we could land at #9. This is an honest question: Has there ever been a draft where it was "easy" to figure out what we were going to do, and then ...

Re: Bears to sign G Nate Davis to 3yr, $30m deal

I recently found out that the reason Mustipher and the Bears offensive line were ranked so highly by ESPN analytics is because if you don’t hold a block long enough their automated tracking data considers it a free rush and not a lost pass block rep. Someone posted a clip of an Eagles DT throwing M...

I’m not sure what you’re referring to as an assumption but the interior of the line being a weakness is not. There are numerous examples of guys not recognizing stunts and giving free rushes and Mustipher was often useless as a pass blocker. I recently found out that the reason Mustipher and the Be...

There’s a huge difference in perception and expectations on a top 10 pick and a late first round pick.
