Re: Roster Moves: Countdown to 53

Diesch had one or two really bad plays last Saturday - I think one resulting in a Bag sack (is that redundant?). And Stenberg I thought might be something until I looked at his PFF grades and understood why the Lion cut a 16 game starter. With Leather cut & likely going to Bear practice squad (I...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

Well maybe those games weigh a little more heavily than I’m giving credit for. 🤷‍♂️ This discussion I think illustrates the difference between talent and the ability to execute NFL football in a game. Not the same thing, and the latter can only really be confirmed in a game even though the identifi...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

You believe that the coaches ignored practice and instead based their evaluation off of preseason game performance? I suppose you expect Bagent to start over Fields then Week 1? I'm sure his play in preseason games helped his cause, I'm not denying that. But dude, they've been watching these guys p...

Re: Velus now a lock?

Oh - it is THAT sort of IR? I kind of have a soft spot for the guy and wish they'd keep him over ESB. Pettis is a really good blocker, and a sneaky good WR/route runner. He must really be hurt. Conspiracy theory: They like him and didn't want to cut him and asked him if he'd rather be waived and ta...

Re: PJ, Bagent, Guaranteed Money and the PS

I'm surprised and genuinelyl impressed that Poles did this now. He did PJ a solid. He did other NFL teams who may have questions about QB2-3 a solid. And he did the cap a potential solid.

Bravo, Mr. GM.

Also - Bagent is for real & they know it. What great fortune for the Beloved.

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

It was nice of them to cut PJ now so teams planning their cuts can have his availability in consideration. Also - and nothing wrong with having ulterior motives - the Bears save that guaranteed money if he gets picked up. Smart move by Poles. Bagent is for real and they know it.

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

The same vague allegations are coming from the same folks who have consistently questioned Fields the most since he's been here. Using preseason snaps to bolster these pre-existing biases is just bad IMO. As a total JF1 stan since even before he was drafted, I've defended him from those folks' goin...

Re: Velus now a lock?

It may or may not be correct as it relates to Jones but my own experience tells me there is a basis for it in general. As I responded to Noots it may be more about trajectory. Kickoffs and passes tend come on a lower trajectory than punts. There's often more of a background that can help with perce...

Re: Velus now a lock?

Scott put a lot of pressure on him yesterday with Scott's kick returning. I don't see VJJ as a total failure, the team needs to use his talents accordingly, maybe like Patterson is used. I think it's down to between VJJ and Webster for making the 53. HIghtower said last week that he considers Velus...

Re: Preseason Week 3 // Bears vs. Bills

I doubt he would like the nickname T-Bag. LOL! I’ll modify to T-Bagger to clarify the intent. As in, he dips his nuts in the opponent’s mouth. Now let’s use in a sentence. T-Bagger beats the Packers because they suck. But this is what we need. The guy is already a breath of fresh air. Exciting stor...

Re: Preseason Week 3 // Bears vs. Bills

So as I said before the game, what I wanted to see from Justin was improved accuracy and . . . I don't think we saw that, at least I didn't. Even the throw to Moore for the big gain was low and Moore had to go down to scoop it up before he could do his magic. I know it's preseason, blah, blah, blah...

What part of “preseason games aren’t a predictor for regular season” don’t people understand? We’ve seen barely any of Fields and the haters are in full regalia. We can’t even wait until Week 1 for this garbage? Yeah - the sample has been too small to really judge. My personal disappointment is wha...

He isnt' a "diamond in the rough" - he's a polished diamond FROM the rough. I love that. If you just watched T-Bag play and you didn't know already who he was there's no way in hell you'd think he's a small school Cinderella story. He's so far ahead of that stereotype. Yeah exactly. I kno...

He's doing great. I just need to see him complete more passes. OMG why am I so psyched about the backup QB? This is fun as hell. Because you are a Chicago Bears Fan and that is what we do. Re: Velus now a lock?

VJJ is a late bloomer yet has some great physical talent, including outstanding acceleration that can be a difference maker in a game. That one punt today that Scott almost broke I think Jones could have had that extra burst to make it through. He needs some game experience. He started out poorly l...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

Back to the thread. I didn't see anything different about Fields today, which is really worrying. Even the one pass he made for an impressive gain reminded me of the same old #1. Application to Receive a Pass From Justin Fields 1. At the snap, proceed downfield along your prescribed route. 2. When ...
