That's fair criticism. I do think Feeney was a good calculated risk, but it turns out he wasn't, so with hindsight it wasn't a good trade.
Honestly, I’d bring Feeney back as depth.
I'd bring him back for his mustache.

Re: JJ decision must be made by 4pm ET

Curious how fans on this board feel : Do you think Poles should let JJ reset the CB market given that he is widely considered to be the number one free agent corner in an offseason where the Bears are flush with cap space and the salary cap just went up an unprecedented $30M per team? I think a lot...

Re: Bears trade 5th rd pick to Bills for OL Ryan Bates

I really don't see any correlation between trades for Bates and trading out of the 9th pick. I am a little surprised that he didn't take a harder look at Brian Allen who just got released by the Rams: McVay scheme, local kid, under 30, etc. I'm usually a trade down advocate - but the Bears are a poi...

Re: Bears trade 5th rd pick to Bills for OL Ryan Bates

I don't mind the move - Bates has really good interior line versatility. I don't think this precludes the Bears in any way drafting a C - in fact, it's a really good plan if they do. I'm not going to sweat losing a 5th round pick - pretty sure Poles can recoup if there is someone he loves there. Wit...

He jumped pretty well and has good size.

I knew he was slow, but I didn't know he was 4.6 slow. Route running can go a long way - Anquan Bolden ran a 4.71 - he might not get drafted today.

Re: 2024 Combine Talk

Atlanta will want to trade down. And although I'm hoping that the Falcons would pony up a R2 pick for Fields, but that looks increasingly unlikely. Maybe a 3rd and a pick in 2025. Agree, wab. To get a R2, someone else is going to have to show interest, be it Pittsburgh, Las Vegas or New England. Mi...

Re: 2024 Combine Talk

If the Falcons offer their R2 (11) and an 8/9 swap in R1 for JF1 - I'm jumping on that offer. Whether or not McCarthy jumps into the Top 8 probably determines if one of the Big 3 WRs is there - which is my preference. Otherwise, there will still be some monster talent on the board (DE, OT specifical...

All over the country, Towns and Countys are raising property tax assessments. My area just had a county wide 12% increase in all rural areas because of budget shortfalls from the state level. There are properties that might be worth more than the 12% increase, and probably several that are not. But...

When Fields is traded by this time next week we'll have to revisit the mastery of body language being bandied in this thread. If we are going to revisit I want my position to be crystal clear - I have no freaking idea what Poles will as he is the MASTER. I will say - and perhaps I've listened to to...

What if Poles did something unconventional and not trade for a pick? How would you react to Justin Fields for Kyle Pitts and a swap of the 8th and 9th picks Probably gets you in position for one of the Big 3 WRs - not sure one makes it to 9. Plus Pitts at the U TE (Waldron runs a ton of 12 personnel...

Re: Some Free Agent ideas, your thoughts?

I think it's futile to put every cap dollar the Bears spend under a microscope. They have to spend money, they don't always spend it wisely. They have to fill a roster, and they can't just do it with draft picks. This is a universal truth for all teams. Not every dollar spent needs to be looked at ...

I'm not sure how great Stroud would have been in Carolina. Circumstances matter a lot. Young may very well end up a good player, just impossible to tell given the shit show that guy had to play through last year. I don't think Young is still a starter by year 3. He’s already in the Justin “wasn’t d...

Re: Some Free Agent ideas, your thoughts?

They have to prioritize Center first, it was such a gaping black hole. Sign the best they can. Look at Huff, NY Jets and/or A.J. Espenesa, Bills as DE choices. Washington would be very familiar with both choices. Espenesa especially meets the physical size Poles seems to prefer in DL men. They are ...

How much will teams hold back from trading for #1 after seeing the Panthers' experiences last draft and this season? His route running doesn't make him a viable slot guy who is going to work the middle of the field. His best role is WR4 as DJ's backup and a deep threat.
