Re: Roster Moves: Bears release Eddie Jackson, Cody Whitehair

Whitehair was a damn good soldier and the Bears pretty much rode him into ground from day one. Guy was an elite left guard who was forced to play center and did so reasonably well at first. His whole career was a flip flop, flop flip, go here, do this, go there, do that. Josh Lucas straight up said...

Re: Some Free Agent ideas, your thoughts?

I've seen Chargers fans saying Eckler is cooked, and spending on RB seems a little out of character for Poles. Meanwhile Deejay Dallas RB3/KR/PR makes sense to me. He has experience with Waldron and he's a capable returner. I'd love for the Bears to get the return spots covered with a guy who also h...

I can't remember how he does it but I remember him on a pod talking about making adjustments in arrears. I just asked him on twitter so we'll see if he replies.

Re: UPDATE: Bears officially Hire OC Shane Waldron

Raw stats like 'points scored' aren't worth a whole lot because they don't provide any context for how you got there (I know you are big proponent for context). Did your defense score points? Did your defense give your offense short fields? How good is your kicker? How good were the defenses you pl...

Re: Build around Caleb scenarios

Bowers has to be multiple if he's going to be a Bear. He needs to play fullback in 21, inline in 12, and either slot or hb in 11 (or both). It doesn't make sense to bring him as a TE only even if he is a better mover than Kmet.

I wonder if we need a superstar safety instead of a proper deal with JJ and more reliability from vets across the roster?

Re: Seems like Eddie Jackson is gone

Why now? They probably let him know he was going to be cut (salary cap purposes) or they asked him to re-do his deal and he said no. I mean yeah but why have the conversation now and make the decision now? I guess because Poles and Eddie's agent could be together in person at the superbowl? Maybe t...

Re: Caleb Williams News and Rumor thread

Waldman and Schofield sold me on Williams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPSQL8bluec Williams is certainly less special running but is very elusive and has a better touch with his passes in the short and intermediate range. I think this is a "choose your favorite flavor" situation for Pol...

Re: 2024 Reese's Senior Bowl

Hmm. The RBs are also meh so I'm struggling in my mocks to get value+need in Rd 4 and 5. Maybe safeties I guess?

Rd 1&2 = QB, EDGE, WR, DT
Rd 2&3 = OC, WR, DT
Rd 3&4 = Umm.. S? More WRs?
Rd 4&5 = I got nothing. Backup CBs?

Re: Kingsbury backs out of Raiders job, joins Commanders

I watch alot of indie or low-budget horror movies and sometimes a character will seem weird or creepy and I can't decide whether that character is the killer or the actor is just not very good. That's how I feel here: Is there a master strategy or are a couple of struggling organizations doing a bad...

There are lots of people who think they can take the emotional part of the argument away by pointing to cost. I think there are different ways to approach valuation and forecasting that can be valid but lead to different conclusions. That's why analysts are not worshipped as Holy Men and Seers, they...

Re: SPECULATION: Wild Cowboys/Bears Trade Proposal

Not mentioned in the article is the picks the Bears would net from trading fields. Dak plus a full draft of new players added to a 7 win team would be very promising. What about this scenario: The Chargers, who are in cap hell, decide to move on from Herbert so Harbaugh can get His Guy and the team ...

There is a serious underlying question here of whether the goal is to develop a team that is consistently competitive and fun to follow or if winning a ring is the only goal. Justin has certainly shown that he can be very entertaining and most fans love him. Given a million draft picks, I'm confiden...

I think it's good to have a few former NFL players on staff and I like that the Bears (assuming they sign Harris) would be starting a weird new trend of hiring only safeties. Also don't sleep on his Grey Cup win and CFL Outstanding Player award https://youtu.be/LMAV5kEH270?si=qX3EjbNS2sbvn1Zf&t=...

His play and health have moved him out of the Star category into the Savvy Vet category and he needs to be paid accordingly. The Bears obv can’t pay him $18m so the question is how much? It makes me wonder about Brisker’s growth with and without him. If he helps Brisker it’s worth a little more for ...

Re: Free Agent Wish List

IMO the Bears still have enough money that Poles can cross off a need with a big FA signing. I would look to support my young QB with a star C or another pricey pass catcher. There are never really WRs available and there are barely good TEs in the league so why not go C? There are great options ava...
