Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1768367496908681689?s=20 I mean... who the fuck is left? The eagles...and maybe the saints? Cousins/Mayfield/Wilson all got starting jobs. Mac Jones, Desmond Ridder, and Sam Howell were all traded. Sam Bradford, Jacoby Brissett, Marcus Mariota, Drew Lock, Mitch Tru...

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie
Wasn't familiar with Rondale Moore so I looked up his stats: 5'7" 180 lbs averaged 400 yds/season for three years. The Bears need bigger receivers so Moore probably was not on Poles' radar. That and there is already somebody else on the team catching passes named Moore. What's abolutely crazy ...

Maybe this sets the value for Fields in a player for player situation.

Re: Bears working out OT Fuaga
Fuaga has played both OT spots and is very similar to Wright. If they were to take him, I would imagine they kick Wright over to LT and send Braxton to the bench. I would not be in favor of this, but I'm not in charge. Why do you think that? Not being argumentative, just curious. And if they're usi...

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie
I'm kind of fine with not having secured a splashy player at WR2 or DE2. We've got to replace Justin Jones' production but some of that will hopefully come from a draft pick and some from continued growth from Dexter (plus maybe Pickens). Jones had 22 pressures from 739 snaps whereas Dexter had 17 ...

Another QB on the market...
Cripes... if Ridder is traded before Fields. Woof.

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie
A somewhat related aside...
How weird would it be if the Bears had Montez Sweat, then traded for Josh Sweat, and then drafted T'Vondre Sweat.
And one of the Sweats is the brother of one of the other Sweats but neither are related to the third Sweat.

The Fields for Sweat thing was borne from combining these two tweets...
People were just like "well lets trade Fields for Sweat instead".

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie
People that expected Poles to sign the top FA at every position of need were always going to be disappointed. Totally. Not only that, but I don't get all the negativity from folks. I'm actually pretty happy with how things are rolling out so far. I'm also kinda puzzled--does everyone hate last year...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters
What is super clear reading through all these posts, is that the "two camps" have one major distinguishing characteristic difference. The "keep Fields" camp clearly values and understands the importance of team play, leadership, and intangibles while the CW camp values pure tale...

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie
Take a step back, remove the emotion, and see the moves Poles is making. Yes, no moves is a move, like how 0 is still a number. We have multiple holes on the team. WR2 WR3 C - Most likely DE2 / DT We cannot fill them all with the current resources. We cannot have a WR room of DJ Moore, but then Sco...

Re: Top Remaining Players
I've always liked Armstead as a heavy end, but IMO he's a weird fit as a DT in the Bears system. I know he gets compared to Buckner because of his size, but Buckner has always been more powerful. I'd rather get Reader. Our run D was excellent and I don't want to take a step back there. I'd be hopin...

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie
I haven't seen it in here but maybe it's elsewhere. Bears are supposed to have DJ Wonnum in for a visit today. He would be a really nice fit here at DE. Has a couple of 8 sack seasons in the last three years. I'd love to see him added as the DE opposite Sweat. I hope they don't let him leave town w...

I would've went with Tonyan/ESB as my parallel. Patrick is bad juju.dplank wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 9:31 amFair point.LacertineForest wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 9:30 am

Re: 2024 NFL Free Agency chatter, there will be punch and pie
The only real head scratcher signing is Pryor. That one I don't get. If you look at Poles history, he's not going to overpay for positions of need in FA. The Bears needed a RT last offseason and the prices were through the roof, so he waited and drafted Wright. Same for DT...prices got high, so he ...

https://www.draftsharks.com/fantasy/injury-history/mike-williams/7759 Mike Williams is so far past being able to be relied upon to stay healthy, I dont think he's really solving any of our problems. Also fans: Oh no, not those guys...

I think he's our Kenneth Walker III I think Roschon Johnson will be our (slower) Zach Charbonnet but could be RB3 Curious what the role will be for Khalil Herbert... Still…I guess? Averages about 600 yards a season…about the same YPG and YPC as Herbert. He’s a better receiver out of the backfield a...

I just wonder..if the general consensus is CW is 100% sure fire "generational talent"..why were so many retread QBs taken in FA ? Would they not want the sure fire wonder boy and trade whatever they can to get to him..? I wonder what teams are left that would have interest in the almighty...
