Re: Roster Moves: Countdown to 53

If they're grabbing that PR Taylor then maybe I've been wrong about their view on Velus. Or maybe I've been right about ESB potentially getting waived. Or maybe the Mooney trade concept was real. Or maybe Scott suddenly comes down with an injury and is IRd. Because as Getsy described he's having th...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

The sample size, preseason no less, makes it an utterly useless point. Supporter card is hereby revoked! 600+ is not a small sample size. There's some time left, but it is starting to get short for him to start showing the things he needs to be able to do with consistency. Time Left is now shorter ...

Brother, I'd love that. I'm not even saying I'm "right" now - I'm saying I was disappointed in how something looked, and have less confidence in it now. I'll already admit that concern could be unfounded.

I'm sorry if I missed it, and I've seen other folks ask the question - what happend with Kramer's hand or arm? Did he end up not being seriously injured because it looked otherwise.

Call it what you want, but you've been pretty incessantly negative about him for over a week now. Over 12 fucking throws man - 12 throws!!! You are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overthinking this. Smoke a doobie and relax until Week 1, and MAYBE we'll give you a seat back on the bus when Fields tears up ...

Re: 2023 Practice Squad

Some guys want a fresh start after being waived and seeing the depth chart above them doesn't look promising to dent. Collins is a C - he's almost 30 years old. I'm surprised by D'A Jones and Ojemudia. I love seeing Bell and Baskerville there, and Williamson is not a shock at this point. With Lewis ...

Yeah saw that. So there goes 1/3 of my fantasy season in two leagues, right out of the gate! Glad they're dynasty leagues and he's still young so in the long run a little rest and lighter load might help. Don't feel bad. The league I'm in had their draft last night and didn't tell me...so Sam Howel...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

How about passing accuracy and touch. Of course, and he made a bad throw. That happens. I saw Tom Brady make a bad throw once, I didn't turn around and bail on him. I'm very disappointed in you IE, this is some weak tea IMO to defend a guy all this time then after 12 preseason snaps bail. For gods ...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

They aren’t phoning it in IE. They have specific things they want to try and evaluate, and those things are 100% disconnected from results. The results don’t matter to them and so they focus on creating specific circumstances for evaluation and teaching purposes. You have to view it as a practice s...

Re: Bears waiver claims

Some moves strongly imply that preseason games don't matter. In other cases the implication is they really matter. It is almost as if each case is addressed individually and uniquely, and the notion one way or another is just a strawman.

Re: Bears waiver claims

Surprised by the Lewis thing but I'm sure they thought given his vet status he'd survive waivers to the PS easier than Green and maybe even DomRob. I see that as a PS move. They could easily end up cutting the new guy and bringing Lewis back if he doesn't work out. What they did is just a necessity ...

Re: Justin Fields Megathread - A story of Lovers and Haters

I can wrap my mind around 12 I really can. I think 10 is definitely feasible with even a small amount of improvement from JF1 (which, IMO, we now have to wait until the lights come on for real to see). And I believe 8 is a high probabilty number even if JF1 struggles to show he's improved in some ar...

I used to believe this completely but I no longer fully believe it. I think Bagent is much closer to Brock Purdy than he is Chase Daniel (and I thought he was OK) or even a Mitch Trubisky. I know there is a potential cautionary tale about getting over our skiis on a QB in a situation like this, and...

The thing that impressed me so much with Bagent was his mechanics. His footwork was effortless. He was also really decisive. He hit his back foot and knew exactly where he was going with the ball. quick release and good zip. There were a couple clips of him throwing the ball before the receiver was...

If they really want a veteran backup, Trevor "How the Hell is Walker an upgrade over me?" Siemian is available. Dumping Walker and bringing Trevor back might be too much pride to swallow, though. At any rate, I'm ok with just rostering 2. They like Peterman's analytic and mentoring contri...

Re: PJ, Bagent, Guaranteed Money and the PS

I've seen some discussion about potentially bringing in a veteran backup as a contingency to Bags. But I just don't see a need. It is because after looking around the league, and seeing the depth... who do we think has a better QB2 than Bagent, really? There are FIVE rookies at QB2 right now, on top...

I don't mind Swift I think he does OK with his analysis. But he's just being an apologist here, with his "it's only preseason" thing, and "shaking off the rust" thing. - They've been practicing for months, including full scrimmages against the Colts. That's not rust - that's just...

Re: Roster Moves: Countdown to 53

Bears release Peterman, hoping to keep him on the Practice Squad. Bagent is truly QB2. WOW that surprises me. They'll of course have another QB on the PS and we'll see what they do in the regular season. I'll be very surprised if they elect to ride with 2 QB on game day. If you have an advantage yo...

I keep saying it - It has to be true that a player has either internalized something and developed an ability or good habits... or they haven't.
