Re: Luke Getsy's Running & Passing Schemes

I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you! No way paragon of virtue and defender of honesty Aaron Rodgers could be difficult. He always comes across as such a humble, compassionate, caring, selfless man. She must be quiet the handful. Aaron has never been someone who must constantly be praised or always be t...

Re: Luke Getsy's Running & Passing Schemes

We're gonna be stingy on defense. We're gonna have a strong running game. The ways Justin Fields fits this offense listed in the article above are QB mobility, running game, RPO (which is another way of relying on mobility) and Fields "experience". I wish just "passing the football&qu...

If Fields' release was half as fast as UOK's "lock thread" trigger finger, we'd be unstoppable.

The reason that the SNL superfans are funny/legendary isn't that they're ridiculous and unbelievable, it's that they're more or less accurate depictions of our uncles or dad's highschool friends or some random dudes you meet in the airport.

Re: Predict the Bears 2022 record

I figure we'll end up somewhere between 4-13 to 7-10. Just enough wins to keep us away from a blue chip talent in the draft, as usual. I just don't see that this team has a lot going for it. Fields is the wildcard in that if he takes a major leap, we might not finish last in the division, but my sus...

Re: Olin Kreutz assaulted Adam Hoge at CHGO studio, was fired

Yea if one of my employees choked another one he’d be fired. Not really much more to say there. And Kreutz, even putting aside his problematic history with this kind of thing, he’s probably 2x bigger than Hoge. I bet he feels real tough now. As a large human, I can say it’s EXTREMELY frustrating wh...

No real take to offer on Poles.
His draft picks have yet to play a single down. Hell, he hasn't even had a draft yet.

I find him generally uninspiring and kind of boring. But, that doesn't mean he's not some kind of talent acquiring, roster building genius. Just have to wait and see.

Re: Robert Quinn Speculation

I would imagine most other teams view Quinn about the way we do. Which is that he's coming off a heck of a season that he stands virtually no likelihood of replicating. He's a very up and down player, year to year, and he'll be 32 when the season starts. Sure, a couple teams that need "one more...

Re: Spending Money with Fields On HIs Rookie Deal

I can't see into the minds of the fans you're talking about, but I'd imagine from Poles' perspective, there is a plan to emphasize talent acquisition though the draft and reward those players with contracts that can be more evenly distributed across the roster and through the years rather than havin...

Re: What would you give up for DK Metcalf?

I think every team needs a few blue chippers at strategic positions to get to the top. I believe this was discussed in the analysis of where the Bears are today and the conclusion was we need more difference makers. Poles says he wants playmakers, Metcalf certainly fits the bill. He is young, talen...

Re: What would you give up for DK Metcalf?

He's 24 and very good. I agree with Dplank that the odds of securing such a WR through the draft are pretty slim. In fact, I think you could argue that the Bears have never in their history drafted a WR as good as Metcalf, with maybe some wiggle room for Jeffery or ...? Then again, Pace set this tea...

Re: Update: Tyreke Hill traded to Dolphins for pile of picks

Tyreek Hill is 28.
And while 28 isn't old, for a player whose entire game is based on speed, that's not a trait that hangs around into ones 30s.

The Dolphins are rightly trying to surround Tua with plenty of help, but that's a lot of capital.

Re: WOW! Give our new GM and Coach a Chance !

At the risk of speaking for Artbest, I don't think he was suggesting trading Fields and drafting a QB this year. He's hypothesising that if, as he fears, the team is going to get considerably worse in the short term and thus be drafting very high in the next year or two then, if Fields is strugglin...

But as other pointed out we gave up a draft pick for a return guy for a team that wasn't going to anything.
Such is the risk of allowing a GM to go into the final year of his contract with no assurance toward the future. He’s fighting to save his job, not for the long term interest of the team.
