Re: Fox coaching staff: Assemble!

This was an absolute slam dunk hire. I screamed in my car as soon as I heard we got him. If Fox lands a well-respected OC, I think the Bears will be a surprise team next season. If the Bears nail Free Agency and the Draft, I could see the Bears winning 10 or 11 games next season. Agree it was a sla...

Re: Fox coaching staff: Assemble!

For whatever reason, the Bears roster has Ego at 6'0 309. He measured in at 6'3 315 at the combine. He can easily put another 30lbs on. That'll teach me to default to the Bears roster. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/ego-ferguson?id=2543602" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false...

Jack should be Ray or Beasley. I think Greene could actually play Will.

That's the reason I said Ego might be able to play NT. He's similar to Glenn Dorsey, who was just fine for SF.

Re: Fox coaching staff: Assemble!

Like I said earlier...Fangio is a great hire because he isn't scheme specific. I'm talking more to the "hooray we're finally going to a 3-4" crowd. We DO NOT have that type of personnel. We'll have some hybrid looks on defense, because that's what Fox and Fangio do...but there will be a se...

Re: WAB's Updated Mock Draft - 4 rounds

I don't think you can take a 3-4 NT like Shelton at #7. That's rush Backer territory. If you look at his history, he doesn't go for the traditional 6'4 265lb 3-4 backer. He likes the guys that are juuuuust a bit too small to play DE. like 6'3 240ish. So Beasley or Ray make a lot of sense. So would g...

Re: Which free agents interest you the most?

The Fangio addition is a game changer. I'm wondering now if we'll take a run at Fairley to be our future NT. We build his contract to be weighted to next year when Allen is gone. Paea will be too expensive to play 5-tech in 2016 (though I see that Watt makes an impact from that spot) so I think he'...

Re: Fox coaching staff: Assemble!

Find me one 5'11 305lb 3-4 defender. Sutton is on the outside looking in. It is what it is. Ego "might" be able to play nose. Houston at 280 is fine at DE. Allen might be able to put on a few LB's and play DE for one more year before calling it quits. Before the injury, I would have said Y...

Re: Fox coaching staff: Assemble!

I might have him go back up to 300 man. He wasn't great by any means at 280 and playing the 3T, what can it hurt right? He's just not a fit for this defense anymore. Not at DT or DE. Totally wrong body type. It's ok though. I loved him coming out of college, but it is what it is. I can move past him.

Here are the 15 or so players you'd expect to remain on the roster: Fuller, Kyle CB Hurst, Demontre CB Jennings, Tim CB Allen, Jared DE Bass, David DE Houston, Lamarr DE Washington, Cornelius DE Young, Willie DE Ferguson, Ego DT Paea, Stephen DT Sutton, Will DT Ratliff, Jeremiah DT Bostic, Jonathan ...

Re: Fox coaching staff: Assemble!

Fangio has coached all kinds of defenses, and his best attribute is that he tailors his defense to the talent he has. Very Similar to how Fox does it. I expect to see a hybrid base 4-3 with a lot of the hybrid elements he incorporated in SF.

Similar to what Ray Horton ran in AZ before Bowles.

You can't bring back Conte because he can't finish a game. Pace said he wants guys you can count on every Sunday, and as much of a soft spot as I have for Chris, you can not count on him.

Re: What does Success look like for 2015?

I actually think under Fox, Bostic and Jones will be just fine. It's not like Brandon Marshall, Nate Irving, and Danny Travathean were all world beaters coming out of the draft.

Give me Jones, Bostic, and Beasley/Ray/Gregory at LB and we are going to be fine.

You know it's been a very long season when we're talking about getting ride of Marshal and TBU! I honestly think that with a HC like Fox, all the crap around Marshall and TBU stops immediately. Both of those knuckleheads need regular discipline in their daily lives, and they got none of it in the l...

A corner, a starting caliber safety, and another 3rd down pass rusher will do this team wonders.

Not to come back right? Just to get him back to being associated with the team.

It's a good move though. As long as they aren't planning a comeback.

We could do worse than Gailey. But I don't think he'd be my first pick. Clearly I'd take him over Knapp.
