Seems like a perfect replacement for Acho.

Maybe Nagy & Pace are going to dangle kush in a trade?
Guy was a beast at SDSU (south dakota state U) at tackle, moved inside to guard. Supposedly started 13 games last year with the chiefs.
PFF had him at a 40.6 grade last year in an article I found.

My feeling is that he is insurance for when Long’s body eventually fails him again.

Seems similar to Sowell... so unless he's hurt I don't get it.

Kush doesn't really have any trade value beyond a conditional pick to a truly desperate team. Based on his injury history and a young career already showing trademarks of 'NFL journeyman,' Kush is 99.99% more likely to be released/waived if the team loses faith in him.
I don't see the Bears getting rid of Kush. This Witzmann signing is not a signal fire.

That was my thought, too.wab wrote:Seems similar to Sowell... so unless he's hurt I don't get it.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Yeah, the only potential slivers of logic I can see here are:
1) Kyle is breaking again and they are readying the net
2) Could they have actually taken him just to keep someone else (GB) from doing it??

FWIW Kush had a neck injury that limited him in practice this week so this signing may have been as an emergency pickup in case Kush couldn't go Sunday. Witzmann has experience in Nagy's system from his days in KC.

Makes sense. I hope Daniels gets the start, plays well, and like Cake so eloquently said, "He's going the distance".UOK wrote:FWIW Kush had a neck injury that limited him in practice this week so this signing may have been as an emergency pickup in case Kush couldn't go Sunday. He did start 13 games for the Chiefs last year, and they were good enough on offense that we hired Nagy. He's also a year younger than Massie and Sowell, if that means anything.

I'm bumping this back up to the top.
I re-watched the game, and I thought Witzmann did really well. Like REALLY well. He stonewalled his guy at the line almost every time in pass pro. I wasn't paying particular attention in the run game, but for pass blocking I thought he was really solid.
