We already know Mitch can tuck it and run on a scramble when everyone's covered. We already know he's got the wheels when he keeps it on a read option. But the film shows how the need to respect his legs got Jordan Howard his TD.

58 here is the free man who can make the tackle, but he's flat footed. He doesn't attack Howard because he's afraid in that split second that Trubisky might keep it. If he goes after Howard from the get-go, it might even be a TFL.

58's indecision, or decision to respect Trubisky's legs puts him out of position and is forced to make a weak attempt at an arm tackle. Touchdown Bears.

That's what she said.
Mikefive's theory: The only time you KNOW that a sports team player, coach or management member is being 100% honest is when they're NOT reciting "the company line".

Go back to leather helmets, NFL.

Great break down and seeing this made me think back to the clip of Nagy telling Howard how he promises to get him going.
Was a nice heartfelt moment from coach
Have a great day

Damn nice block by 80 in that last snapshot. Good play by all. Wish that I hadn't turned the game off in disgust after the first half.

Burton had a few beautiful blocks in that game.

it's nice he is using his running in an organized way rather than helter-skelter panic ... he is a legitimate threat on that read option as was clearly shown on that nice breakdown given to open the thread (nice job KOP  )

and he is getting himself out of bounds and out of danger of late which shows nice maturity

and lets face it - he was much more of a threat to the Jets with his legs than his arm that day so he has put a lot on tape for teams to be concerned about

Great execution from two talented players - they have to respect both! Also the Burton block is just another highlight from him. He's a more complete player than I expected. Such a good addition.

As a sidenote: It's been fun watching out old school fanbase slowly come around on some of this "college" offense stuff.
