58 here is the free man who can make the tackle, but he's flat footed. He doesn't attack Howard because he's afraid in that split second that Trubisky might keep it. If he goes after Howard from the get-go, it might even be a TFL.
58's indecision, or decision to respect Trubisky's legs puts him out of position and is forced to make a weak attempt at an arm tackle. Touchdown Bears.

Damn nice block by 80 in that last snapshot. Good play by all. Wish that I hadn't turned the game off in disgust after the first half.

it's nice he is using his running in an organized way rather than helter-skelter panic ... he is a legitimate threat on that read option as was clearly shown on that nice breakdown given to open the thread (nice job KOP

Great execution from two talented players - they have to respect both! Also the Burton block is just another highlight from him. He's a more complete player than I expected. Such a good addition.
As a sidenote: It's been fun watching out old school fanbase slowly come around on some of this "college" offense stuff.
