He sucks Donkey dicks.
Damn scary thought if we have a close game.
Maybe bring in the ex Cowboy kicker for a tryout.
Update: Cody Parkey is a disgrace to place kickers

Speaking to #Bears kicker Cody Parkey this week, he doesn't come down to Soldier Field during the week because of the commute issues, Maybe he should re-think it.

So making 4.5 million a year and you can't practice with your own team. WTF you gotta be kidding me.
Somebody needs to Uber his ass to the practice.
I only thought I didn't like him before that. I'm 6'1" and 235 lbs let me catch that puny son of a bitch in person and I will go to jail with a smile on my face.
Not from Illinois so how much time for bitch slapping a bitch back into his momma womb?

Parkey has to go. This shit can't continue. We're well on the way to being a playoff team and it's just not acceptable.

The team doesn't practice at Soldier Field, they practice at Halas Hall. He stays with the team when he should take a drive in town at least a few times a week. The wind is the problem in Soldier Field.EricTighe wrote:So making 4.5 million a year and you can't practice with your own team. WTF you gotta be kidding me.

This is really frustrating.
From Adam Hoge on Twitter:
"Matt Nagy on if the #Bears will look at other kickers this week: “Oh no. There’s zero chance of that.”"

" we cant have him around if we make the playoffs"
his kicking is looking like a real reason we might not even make the playoffs. you make the change like you would any other position, you find a replacement. Imagine missing another crucial FG in OT to send us through like in miami? cant risk it.

1) Nagy doesn't seem like the kind of guy that is going to discuss this problem right after a game to the media, no less. This is an in house issue.
2) I think they believe in him and it is kind of like the Crosby deal in GB, let him respond next week. If he doesn't next week, then I believe it will happen.

Guys. He had a bad day. He's actually not that bad. Statistically, he's one of the most accurate kickers in history. If he has another game like that, then launch him. You're not going to find a kicker on the street that will be better. That's why they are on the street.

Whether or not anyone beats him out bring in some kickers to scare the living crap out of him to get his crap right.
We will need him to be right as the season goes on. If not get rid of him. He is barely over 50% on the year. That is not acceptable.

He’s at 72% after today, which sucks. But it’s well above 50%. If he missed his next 8 he’d be at 50%.EricTighe wrote:Whether or not anyone beats him out bring in some kickers to scare the living crap out of him to get his crap right.

I realize there's almost no choice for players to criticize after a game like today, but some of you guys are getting a little wacky with the Parkey hate.
He's hit an excellent % for his career, an excellent % last year, and a good % this year until today.
It's one bad (and incredibly bizarre) day, people. Sure, if it turns into a multigame skid, you need to start thinking, but not one day. He didn't even have a single miss that was off by more than a foot.

Robbie Gould hit 84.6% of his FG's the year before the Bears let him go. He was at 75% the year before, his lowest completion percentage while with the Bears. Was never below 96.6% in Extra Points made.
I find it it funny that the talk was Gould had the yips and had to go but Parkey's just in a funk and a great kicker in comparison. Also take into account Gould kicked in Soldier's Field in the Weather all those years and still compiled those stats.

No one is saying that Parkey is without fault, or doesn't deserve a great deal of criticism. But to think you're going to go out on the street and find a better kicker than Parkey, at this point in the season is ludicrous. You want to bring someone in to push him...fine. But you're not going to find a better kicker, who's just sitting on his couch during week 10 of the season.

Nagy pretty much put the kabosh on signing any other kickers, but if the missed FG vs Miami costs the Bears a playoff spot (among other future fuck ups), you have to weigh moving on.

The complaining about Gould was nutty, too, and I've said so multiple times, then and since.Rakshir wrote:Robbie Gould hit 84.6% of his FG's the year before the Bears let him go. Kicker has become a position where some people become enraged any time they miss and the game is lost, because somehow 100% is a reasonable bar to set.

I went back and watched the game again. I was busting up when the fourth ball hit the upright. Let's be honest, in hindsight, and given that we won, that was pretty hilarious. Four kicks, all hitting an upright. C'mon...that's funny.

well, on the bright side, he didn't outright shank them, and he isn't conner barph.
And, due to salary, he is ours for at least this and next season.

I hit the bathroom, on the last miss, my son said the camera panned to Nagy and you could see Nagy lip “he’s fucking done” did anyone else see this?

I saw something like that but I don't think it was Nagy. There was another coach who said that to him.Funkster wrote:I hit the bathroom, on the last miss, my son said the camera panned to Nagy and you could see Nagy lip “he’s fucking done” did anyone else see this?

I've been saying it all season, everything he kicks tends to drift right and they should be putting him on the left hash. Well, now they are putting him on the left hash and he's STILL fucking kicking it right.
He's already cost us a win in Miami... my Bear-a-noia fears that he's going to either cost us another win that takes us out of the playoffs or he's going to cost us a playoff game.
We aren't going to cut him... he's got a $5M+ cap hit NEXT season so the earliest we can say goodbye, financially, is 2020.

This is big to me. He needs to figure out a way to go spend some time in Soldier Field and get a sense for the place.Otis Day wrote: The team doesn't practice at Soldier Field, they practice at Halas Hall. I realize that I'm dating myself but one of Kevin Butler's big plusses was that he always had an excellent feel for how to kick in Soldier Field. That's something that takes experience and practice. Parkey needs to figure out a way to put in some work on the lakefront.

Eh... prior to this year Parkey has been really good. I'm not gonna sit around and do a bunch of hand wringing about it.
I mean, I’m concerned. Our record in close games recently isn’t good, and his missed kicks could cost us (more) games.wab wrote:Eh... prior to this year Parkey has been really good. I'm not gonna sit around and do a bunch of hand wringing about it.
Historically he’s been a decent kicker, so hopefully he gets this out of his system. I just need him to not develop the yips.
I’d love to feel confident every time he trots out, even if he doesn’t have the most range. Like if he was automatic out to 40 or 45, at least that would be something.
