Thought the same thing. And why not use Cohen more? he's been the most electrifying and difficult to defend players we have. Should have used him more.

This was a huge question for me. If you weren't going to play Jackson, why activate him? Activate Wims and create two large mismatches against a questionable secondary.
My guess is if something happened to Amos or Bush they liked a gimpy Jackson over the next man up.
I was at work during the second half. And I had a trainee so I had to keep it professional. I managed to find a tv just in time to watch the iced kick sail through the uprights, followed by Parkey’s signature miss.
Then some guy broke into a little house in the mountains and barricaded and started trying to blow it up with propane to keep us away, so that took my mind off of it.

Sorry I was upset with the kick and needed to rage a bit.
I much like the rest of you have been pretty miserable all day. Replaying that FG in my head over and over and envisioning it going in rather than the miss. Ugh, what a brutal way to end the season. Trubisky played a heckuva 2nd half after Nagy decided to not call plays like he was scared. Felt like Fox/Loggains were calling the plays in the 1st half. Exploited their secondary too late IMO, cost us some TD's in the 1st half which most likely wouldn't have put us in a position to rely on Parkey making a GW FG.
Also, the refs screwed us at the end of the 1st half, calling the pass incomplete, no one ran to scoop up the ball - not even the Eagles defenders - lost a chance for a potential TD to end the first half.
That being said, a 43 yard FG is a FG an NFL kicker SHOULD make. There aren't any excuses for Parkey. He missed 11 kicks this year, was the weak link of our team and it was just a shame that we had to rely on him to continue the season. Overall, though, I was pleased with how Mitch stepped up in a playoff game in a tense moment. He didn't wilt away and was able to put the team in position to win the game at the end.
I look forward to the Trubisky/Nagy relationship moving forward and think Trubisky takes a big jump in year 2 of the offense. The future is still bright, even though it's doom and gloom today. I think we have a pretty nice window to compete in the next 3 years with Trubisky on a rookie deal. It all depends on his growth within the offense so that Nagy can trust him more early on in big games by being more aggressive vs. waiting until it's too late to attack teams down field. I think 10 takes that next step and will change the tune of his haters in the national media.

Now you tell me
You already knew. Listen to yourself for once.
Don't come to this board and wax philosophic. Not interested. We all know the difference between a sport and real life.
for me, this was the most disappointing Bears loss in a long time because I was very confident this Bears team could, and would, take care of business ... even at halftime with just a 6-3 lead, I felt pretty good ... figured it would end sort of like the Bears / Rams game did, but maybe even lower scoring than 15-9
alas, it was not to be
not mad, even at Dr. Doink ... just sadly disappointed
was a helluva ride all season, even up until the end of their final game ... Nagy deserves some real recognition for all of this coming together in 1 season

I made the mistake of watching our first half offense in All-22. UGH. Mitch was way late with passes that made the completions look like tight coverage and the incompletions near interceptions. Cohen's dropped screen pass and some weird play calls / audibles kept points off the board. It's pretty brutal.
Leno and Long were beaten badly and the oline generally failed to handle the Eagles LBs. Shaheen looked slow and out of place trying to reach blockers. Oh yeah and now we know that Massie and Daniels got split and gave up the tip in the final play. Bad day for the oline

Me as the Bears were driving down the field with 56 seconds left...to when my buddy said "You know it's going to come down to Parkey right"...to the miss.

When the Eagles were driving down with 3 minutes left, I was like. "I can see where this is going..."
What I still keep finding my self going back to is why the Bears coaches did not line it up right in the middle of the field to kick it. Parkey always missed it during the year on the hash from either side and hes pretty good from straight down the middle no thinking involved. When your at the Hash mark you cant just kick it straight you have to give it just that little bit of push to the left or right which it not easy as we found out. When you have a kicker with issues why give him another issue to go through his head . I know I know I was yelling at the TV also... that you have to make that kick and you get paid to make that kick but just that little bit seems what cost us. I'm excited for next year it was going to be tough to win on the road this year to go to Superbowl and next year we can just get home field throughout which I forget what the odds are but they are huge for making it to Superbowl. Miami here we come through Soldier Field!! 14-2 season record. Need Fangio back is huge of course. Please Stay Fangio!!!

No bullshit, this is EXACTLY what I did. My wife said I didn't make a sound, got up and went to the bedroom, removed my jersey and put it back in the closet and sat back on the other couch in silence.
Getting a finger skinning the football is not a block in my book sorry Parkey still missed it. High School, College and Pro's still try to get their kicker in the middle of the field which is the reason I asked. Seems not that important till its missed unfortunately.

Surprisingly good in pass pro and surprisingly bad in run blocking I figure. Leno looked off on Sunday to my naked eye. Without draft picks I don't know how we turn it around quickly, unless Coward really pans out.
