Bears win a horribly stressful game. Survival is all that matters.

BEARS 19 (two missed Parkey XPs)

EAGLES 17 (failed 2PT conversion at end of regulation)

This game is going to hinge on one thing, and one thing only. Can Trubisky play within himself, or is he going to get all amped up and start sailing passes again. If Trubisky plays well, this game really won't be that close. The Eagles don't have much of a running game, and their primary receiving threat is their TE Ertz. Yes Jeffrey is good, but he disappears from games. As far as I can tell right now, they only have four receivers on their team.

I think Mitch rises to the occasion and plays a good game. Not great, but good. Howard has a good game, as does Burton. I think the defense turns the Eagles one dimensional pretty quick out of the gate, and the Bears end up with 5 sacks and 6 TFL. If the defense continues to play as they have the last few weeks, this game is over by halftime.

Bears - 27
Eagles - 17 (TD in garbage time)

What is the Eagles defense like? I really have no idea. I know that Fletcher Cox is good, and that Michael Bennett USED to be good. But I think their secondary is marginal at best. Is that correct? What about their LB's?

Bears 31, Eagles 14

Bears defense will cause havoc and shut down the eagles completely. Jackson will get a great welcome back with two interceptions on jumps balls to Alshon. Mack, Floyd, Hicks and Nichols all get sacks.

The Eagles D line presents less of a threat than the Rams.

I am overly confident about this game and it scares the living shit out of me. I don't see the Eagles presenting anything that is overly impressive. Foles? Big shit, Bears beat the hell out of him. Running game = avg at best.

Trubs doesn't have to be outstanding, he can be a game manager. I would be more worried about Nagy establishing the run game and going completely away from it. Using empty sets that will not take advantage of play action.

With this D, Trubs can pretty much take what is given.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t come down to a field goal.

I’m tired of these close games, can we please get back to the defense forcing turnovers and the team scoring 30 points?

How epic would it be for the bears to play the pats in the super bowl?

Nick Foles 5 games were against the 27th (L), 28th, 19th, 17th and 12th ranked Ds. Houston was 12th ranked. He has not faced anythng like the Bears D. It seems as if they like to throw a lot of underneath stuff and then try to pop one to Alshon. Ertz would be the only O weapon that causes a little concern.

If Foles isn't healthy, at least sore ribs from the sounds of it, do the Eagles allow him to stay back there and take shots downfield against the Bears crushing def? That is the biggest difference between him and Wentz, his willingness to stand in there and chuck it downfield to Jeffery, which opens up the entire O. If they have to worry about him getting hit, do they go to a short quick pass game; that isn't his strength? If so this game might get out of hand really quick.

Healthy Foles it's a close game the Bears should win 24-20, unhealthy Foles might well be a blowout, 28-17.

On another forum, I was reading Eagles fans talking about how their secondary is the worst they've ever had.

The Bears defense is peaking at the right time...the Vikings offense is better than the Eagles offense and the Bears, with really nothing to play for, held a team fighting to get to the playoffs to something like 11 yards in the first half.

Biscuit has to continue his streak of impressive play and the offense has to get into a rhythm.

The Eagles aren't just going to lay down, but the Bears are at home and are on a roll.

Bears 26
Eagles 16

Eagles make a bit of a game of it at the end, but the Bears put the brakes on it.

IMO, the playoffs are gravy. This season has been a blast and I'm really looking forward to the next 4-5 seasons.

If Miller and Gabriel are healthy (Miller probably not), and Wims is active. Just yikes man. Pick your poison. I'm guessing, in that game, Cohen out-Sproles Sproles.

To your point. I have to keep pinching myself. This is the BEGINNING of our window. This defense will be together for at least the next three years. This offense hasn't even had a real offseason together. This, theoretically, should be the floor of what this team is capable of. It's really, really exciting.

Wab I very much agree. The queen's have a better defense. Both teams offensive lines are poor. I have watched a few games and both teams give a lot of pressure. The Bears defense should be salivating. Both the queen's and eagles school players are very good. On paper I think Minny is a better team.

However I worry about a few things. Nagy vs Peterson. Peterson clearly more experienced, and has Nagy's credentials.

Trubs vs Foles. Which coach gets the most out of their qb. Peterson on paper wins this.

Still I think the Bears win.

Bears have been very solid at home this year, and with the question marks surrounding Foles' injury, I think the Bears are going to the divisional round pretty handily.

This will be a fun angle to see play out this week -- the comparisons between Sproles and Cohen.

I have seen Sproles say very complimentary things about Tarik and the respect is mutual.

Good day... I've come in peace despite the OP's opening shot "battery throwing..."

Your team is a very good team that deserves to be favored in this upcoming game. You have a better record, you are at home and your defense is no joke.

What I find... "concerning" here is that most of you admit knowing very little about my squad, but yet most of your predictions aren't even close games... it has you stomping us by double digits. Did us beating the Rams/Texans mean nothing?

- Alshon disappears for games (no knowledge whatsoever of why he wasn't getting involved earlier)
- Our offensive line is trash
- Bennett used to be good.

These are just false statements.

Like I said... you guys are a good team who deserves their props. You definitely did us a favor by beating the Vikes, so I take my hat off for that. While I'll hold off my predictions till later, I'll just toss this nugget in there...

You are playing the SB Champs. Don't easily dismiss your squad's lack of postseason experience. Even before last years run, we had 7 guys already on our squad with SB experience (Jenkins/Blount etc...). Experience is VERY important. We have seasoned future HOF's in this locker room who know how to keep this team grounded.

Let's hope for a good game.

Hey EagleRob, welcome to BFO!

I think we all respect the Eagles and what they did last year. You guys are a good team, there is no doubt. But to answer your assertions of false statements;

- Remember that the Bears DRAFTED Alshon. We are more than familiar with his ability to put up gaudy numbers, or for no reason at all, disappear for games at a time.
- I think I read somewhere in a post that the belief was your OL was "poor." Which I don't believe is true. I think your LT is one of the top rated T's in the league, and Kelce is a great C. What IS true, is that the Eagles OL has NOT faced a pass rush, or a defense, like the Bears. That I can promise you.
-Bennett is still a serviable DE, but you have to agree, he is not the Michael Bennett that played in the "Legion of Boom" defense in Seattle. Fair enough?

We're looking forward to the match-up, and yes a lot of us are giddy at the prospect of being in the playoffs for the first time in eight years. This is old hat for you. It's not for our fan base.

I haven't forgotten Alshon's past with you guys. What most of you guys have to realize is that Wentz was hurt most of this season, which is why he primarily went to Ertz...ALL the time. Ever since Foles came in, he's been spreading the love around. We don't win an SB last year without Alshon ... it's as simple as that.

Bennett has been balling HARD for us. Yes... he's not the same player at this point in his career. But this guy gets pressure on the QB.

You are correct about your pressure on Qbs. But don't forget ... we just have seen Donald/Clowney/Kerrigan... those guys aren't stiffs either. You guys are GREAT with the turnover battle. If we give up more than two turnovers to you guys, I don't see a scenario where we can win a close game with you.

Plus we are well coached... not saying you guys aren't, cause I know you are. But once again we have an Eagles team in the playoffs that have lost key players all over the roster, but nevertheless... we are here. We won an SB with a backup... most teams fold after losing their starter.

It's just a friendly jab. I celebrated with everyone last year as the Eagles won it all, and Jason Kelce's WWE promo during the parade is an all timer.

It's going to be a close game, there's no doubt about that, but I don't think it's out of the realm of imagination to predict a Bears two-score+ victory. They're very, very good at home.

D continues the streak of not allowing more than one TD and ups the ante by not allowing any. O does the same thing it did to Minny and plays keep-away, several long drives that eat clock.

16 Bears - 6 Philly.

We saw Donald too, and completely took him out of the game. Because the Rams pass rush IS Aaron Donald. Our pass rush is not just Khalil Mack. You have to account for Hicks, Goldman and Floyd. Roquan Smith is a brutal blitz threat. We regularly get pressure with 4-5 pass rushers, against 6-7 blockers. There will be no time (2-2.5 sec) for Jeffrey or Agholor to get more than 10-15 yards downfield before the ball has to be thrown. And that's IF they are open. Fuller and Amukamara are among the very best CB's in the league. The Bears COMPLETELY removed Todd Gurley from the Rams game, and Josh Adams is no TG. If the Bears remove your running game, and force you to throw the ball 50 times. It will be a long day for Foles.

The Eagles are good. But you haven't faced a defense like this. The Bears had the highest DVOA in the league this year. By a wide margin. The Bears are the #1 defense in the league at -25.4%. The Ravens are #2 at -15.3%. The Eagles are #21 at 2.8%. The Rams for comparison? They are #14 at 0.7%. You haven't faced a defense like this.

It's all good. That shot wasn't why I took the time to register and post.

Yes... you could absolutely blow us out. When we destroyed the Vikings last year, I don't think the most stalwart of Eagles fan could have predicted that. All I'm asking for is just a little bit of a shot in not getting blown out. The Saints blew us out this year. That was Wentz last game when we through we were pretty much dead. That woke us up, we would have won 6 straight if it wasn't for the refs giving the Cowboys that game.

Like I said... this is a Bears board... I expect most of you guys to predict a win. If you head over to my EAgles board... you'll see the same thing in reverse. I just didn't expect people to think the battle tested team is just going to get rolled.

Plus.... plus... WE OWE YOU FOR THE FOG BOWL!!!
Yes, I'm old enough to remember that game. That was supposed to be our year! That game shoiuld have been called.

No offense.. but I've heard it from the Vikings last year. Not calling you guys the Vikings. But I was told up and down how great that D was. I heard all about all their playmakers. Then we rolled 31 points on them. Again, that was last year and you guys aren't them.

I'm putting my hat on the fact that we've put up more points per game the last few games. I doubt we put up 28 vs you guys, my later prediction has us scoring less, to reflect your D.

Khalil Mack... who's a BEAST! Lane Johnson isn't a slouch either.
We've got a HOF on the other side with Jason Peters.

Playing in your first playoff game collectively... just going to hit the ground like another game, huh?
Just that simple?
